You can install it without foam but it will be more noise and heat coming through. Suggest putting some sort of sound material or something to help with that.
@@PGUNNA201 I agree. I have the same style clips in this video as well as these half inch long tiny plastic clips I use for sewing. Made my own headliner and panel cover and used those with no issues. Matter of fact I didn't even use any clips when I glued my panel cover on, just used them for the pinch welds when installing the headliner. Once the tack is set properly on the glue, 3-4 minutes, the new material didn't even budge and would have peeled away from the foam backing if you attempted to move it at all.
I owned e30 15 years ago, finally notice that the Catuned is the gem for e30! Keep it works! Go Catuned!
Thank you!
Thank you. This has been so helpful. I’m ordering my boyfriend his headliner for e30 and I’m going 100% based off this. Thank you.
You are welcome and 😃 thanks for your business
Awesome video. Very detailed and step by step. Kudos for condensing this to a manageable video while still keeping as much details as possible 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Thank you sir
This is a fantastic video, could you tell us if the process is identical and if not how it differs from an e28? Thanks much!
What is that colour name and code please thank you for the video
if i don’t have the foam in my coupe can the headliner still be installed like this

Fantastic video
Thank you
thankyou!!
Damn you make it look easy. I hate working with glue though
It’s easy
What glue did you use for the foam piece?
3M Spray glue found on our website
What should I do if I don’t have the foam
It really should be there
You kind of need it for sound and heat
You could install sound Matting as an alternative
Excess ≠ access
Dude use mini binder clips. You can get a box of like 100 and you can do the whole liner in one shot
Not strong enough. This is coming from over 20 years of experience :)
@CAtuned Motorsports really? I used them to do mine, and i didn't have any issues
