It’s scarily common for people to not reset their phones when they give it to recyclers, I repaired a lot of older iPhones and majority weren’t reset (in fact, one HAS an Apple ID lock to another person’s Apple ID, but they didn’t set a passcode so I’m keeping it and just haven’t reset it)
One random nerd thing, android phones have an emergency alert history (almost ALL android phones) so you can probably look to see the random weather alerts people have gotten and where the phone was used.

LG chocolate touch: ADs for the phone featured the artist Ciara, with a listening test for the phone, comapring it to the older chocolate 3, then the artist herself. The featured slogan was: "IS IT A PHONE? OR SOMETHING BETTER?"
11:52 The reason you can’t touch anything is because that iPhone has a factory issue called “Touch IC” it’s pretty common on the iPhone 6 series and causes that screen flash at the top, it can only be fixed with soldering on the logic board, a screen replacement won’t fix it.
thanks for the info, and that's unfortunate - I just looked up a repair video on the issue and I definitely do not have the soldering skills to successful do that 😂
so about the locked phones you can use a keylogger to get in the phones if i remember correctly you use Linux terminal and hook it up to a phone and it will test out all the combinations to unlock the phone it basically bypasses the "try x minutes later" thing
ye i used a custom rom one as my daily 3 years ago eh I've had worse phones than that but battery life was awful but eh screen was good it lloked crisp idk but old Samsung devices i just like them more than modern ones
We've thought about it, and we might do something similar with laptops and/or desktops one day, but they just take up so much more space and are more expensive than a huge lot of phones
There's one flipphone, the Samsung W2019 (android of course, also a full size screen on the front), that was only ever sold in china & still costs a bit. So i had to import one here to australia, a Rose Gold one. Had to manually put Google Play services on it since those aren't on them normally, and have been using mine for 4 months as my primary phone, and is a pretty nice one. Not your ordinary flip phone for sure.
@@antanuuuu my 64 year old dad uses the same tcl flip he had in the video. he only uses it when in town since he lives in a cabin, and has a landline at the cabin. and doesn't get cell service in the woods.
I find hard drives at the Goodwill outlet store all the time. You would be amazed what is left on them. People throw them out without erasing or formatting them. I have found copies of peoples passports, birth certificates, divorce papers, family pictures, you name it. And people can't figure out how they get their ID stolen. I just reformat them and use them to store movies on.
For the phones with passwords you can run some sort of program that will try all the different phone password combos I don't know how to do this you could look up a tutorial
wait so does this mean you will no longer upload regularly on the jacob r channel and upload on this more? also love your videos (including the ones on jacob r)!! Fun fact: if your lucky enough, you can hard reset the phone using the recovery menu by either pressing both vol + and power button, it could be different tho, if it doesnt have frp, you could probably and possibly be able to use it
I physically cringed when I saw that 6 plus, that ain’t the screen that’s touch disease, it’s to do with bending on the board’s IC chips, look it up for more info, but otherwise, RIP 🪦
Worked in a trade in factory for smartphones. I have stories for days of things I found on phones and things other human being should never see. SSN #'s ,credit cards. One time we had a paramedics phone and I'll leave it at that. They would come in unlocked because they had to have the passcode removed in order to trade them in. Whoever transferred the data from the old phone to the new one never wipe them
1:13 MY-MOM-HAD-THIS-PHONE! Oh my gosh! I can literally remember asking her if I could play Angry Birds on it lol 😂 I use to play the original Angry Birds and Angry Birds Rio on it ALL THE TIME for hours. 🤭
3:41 The phone was using KaiOS which more details can be found here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KaiOS 7:35 I have that exact phone that I inheritted from my uncle.
So i can say. If the phone shows little to no use. Like within a short amount of years. It could be possible that they person who originally owned the phone passed away and it was put in a drawer. I only know this because of my experiences with data recovery
I had my old blackberry phone until like a year or so ago until they shut down 3g service. At&t actually sent me a free phone that’s valued at like $50 lol, took a while to get used to the touch screen after using a physical keyboard for like 20 years.
Old tracfone cellphones only will allow you to use the phone if you have the original sim card that came with the phone, so buying a sim for the LG 440G would be futile because its useless without its original sim card. It's a really stupid rule.
I'm still using a samsung flip phone as my going out phone. Cause I live in a rough neighborhood so if I know I'm coming home late I just don't want to risk getting my main phone stolen.
my grandpa gets these little tracphone flip phones every two years. he refuses to use a smartphone even though it has gotten to the point that they are cheaper than the flip phones
I don't use a Flip phone BUT I do use a T9 keyboard on my Moto Stylus for nostalgia. Had it for a month or so and I just now gotten back used to it lol
my sister has a nokia flip phone with kai named apps and youtube because its a kaios based phone and that tcl flip phone is a kaios phone because it has kai named apps also youtube also that blue nokia phone is also a kaios phone
I had the LG velvet the last phone they ever made. Beautiful phone. I loved everything about it, but after a couple of months the mic stopped working. So I had to return it. I'm still a little sad about that, but have a OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G now, and it runs great. Not as beautiful as the LG though.
If you look at some of the phones you have you might already have some of the SIM cards you are needing to access some of the others? Just a thought!📵📲📱
It’s wild how much stuff people leave on their old phones 😂 episode 3 coming next Saturday!
Y’all need to reset yo phones before selling but make sure to remove google and or Apple ID because it will lock it if not done otherwise
That's what my dad says whenever we sell an Android device.
I got a phone with a credit card picture once😂😂 I don't play roblox anymore so it was of no use to me
But they are usually broken and I fix them so I'm not surprised

im not scared about you getting the year part. im scared about you somehow managing to find which variant is it

I like the look of it. There's a sort of balance. Even bezels. And just as big a deal, no notch, no punch hole, no teardrop. The screen is wart free!
i think the TCL phone isn't old at all, KaiOS first version is released in 2017 and the OS is still in active development
Mozzarella 🔥🦊

People are using flip phones in 2024, it's called the Samsung Z Flip
But that's a smartphone, not a dumbphone (the OG)

Welcome to this person buying every single phone from eBay only to find out they’re iCloud locked.
9:39 when a Nokia phone falls onto the floor; it doesn't damage the phone, it damages the floor.
7:01 You should probably reach out to the guy. Seems like this person would wanna get his phone back haha
About the Nokia, the headset is used as fm antenna.
The last phone was hilarious
"How are you?"
Phone : "Done?"
"Now, checking this man's internet browsing history..." 😯🤔😏

I guess it would be some kind of brute force method. Or, the tool would consult a dictionary of common words.
People are idiots. RESET YOUR PHONES. DEGAUSS YOUR MAGNETIC STORAGE.
0:39 I have a Blu phone called Blu View 4
Yeah me to
That second phone 1:07... The early Samsung Exhibit I purchased new through TMobile in 2011. Was my first smart phone. :)

I have already alot of phones, and in most cases when I got or buy some old phones the data from the owner is still on it!
By the way old iphones can get unlimited passcode attempts and be bruteforced. As long as you dont reset they can be icloud bypassed too
