What a monumental album this was. Heavy like a mountain, guarded on both ends by two musical oddyseys standing proud like two ancient fortresses. Their best album.
God I love this album. It's an absolutely monster of an album, every song is a face melter 👌🏻 Seen them on The Blackening Tour twice. One of the greatest tours I've ever seen. And altho I live MH and always will, The Blackening to me personally is my favourite and I consider it to be their Magnum Opus. It's flawless.
Arguably the most awesome Thrash Metal song ever written. And on top of that, dedicated to the unarguably most awesome guitarist that ever plucked a string. RIP Dimebag.

Machine Head's music was amazing in Burn My Eyes, The More Things Change, The Burning Red, and Supercharger. But after Phil Demmel joined, holy shit, Their Music became perfect. It went beyond human standards for Metal. Machine Head, one of the best bands in history. Long live Metal.
My favorite song on this record but that’s not to say I don’t love the rest of the record as I love it all 🤘🏻🤪🤘🏻🔥🔊 the riffs in this song pay homage to pantera and this has to be my favourite Machine Head song
I really wish I knew the full story of what happened between Robb and Adam, because Adam always seemed like he was fully into every performance I've ever seem him in, including this video. I know Robb said that Adam hated doing the whole "being in a band" thing, but, honestly, it's hard for a person like me on the outside to see that. With the way Robb thoroughly trashed Adam on "Game Over", it must have been really serious. But, I guess it's one of those things we'll never know unless we were on the inside track. Still, both before AND after Adam Duce, this band put out some of the best quality music I've ever heard. Not just metal, but music.
I do not excactly know what happened either, just that they are both alpha male types and this can get tough over the decades. I'd like to add: you can love playing live, but still hate bein in a band. The compromises and discussions, the business side of things, the travelling and beeing separated from your family. Enought to dislike.
Bullet for my Valentine got me playing guitar... Matt was and still is my idol.... then I heard these guys... and I never played the same again! If I could be a fraction of the players that Flynn and Demmel are then I'd die happy tomorrow...
We have all seen metal bands come and go, some better than others. However, Machine Fu+*ing Head has manged to remain in our conscientiousness of top metal bands in existence. How? By continually releasing music such as Aesthetics of Hate, Imperium, The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears, etc. The catalog of supurb MFH songs is far too extensive to list. Here is a great big Thank You to MFH for keeping it real all these years. The heavy metal family will continue to look forward towards and enjoy all future releases.
+Jesse Huerta And yet I run to a topic that Machine Head simply sucks, aren't even Trashy and other horseshit! If people say Machine Head aren't Trashy, well fuck Metallica cause they definitely have lost their touch overtime and it didn't take that long unlike Machine Head keeping for 25 years and nothing has changed!
+Yves Heinrich You are definitely welcome to have your own opinion. I don't understand why you would bring up Metallica. One thing I don't think anyone can deny is back when Metallica were releasing songs like Disposable Heroes, Battery, Damage Inc., etc. they were definitely on top of the heavy metal world. In MY opinion Masters of Puppets will always be the best heavy metal album ever released. Many people will not share my opinion, and that is ok. Life is more fun when not everyone sees everything exactly the same. We all have our favorites.
Jesse Huerta I brought Metallica because bands nowadays are mostly influenced by them and they're one of the first Thrash Metal bands. And yet some old student came to my school and when he heard I'm a Metalhead we talked about Machine Head, Metallica, Testament, Slayer and Megadeth and he told me about Metallica that their first four albums are Diamonds, all the rest are rubbish.
+Yves Heinrich I have a tendency to agree with him, to a certain extent. I grew up with Kill 'Em, Lightening, Master, and Justice. Back then only "true" metalheads knew anything about Metallica. There was no internet, no radio play for Metallica, no videos (until One from Justice) so we only knew about this band by word of mouth. It is simply impossible for new bands to come up the same way. Those were the good ol' days. Megadeth and Testament were the same. What I CAN say is Testament is probably one of the only metal bands that has kept it heavy ever since the beginning. They may have a slower song here or there but each album is full of full blown heavy metal tunes. Practice What you Preach use to be my favorite album of theirs but Formation of Damnation gives that album a good run for its money. If you have not listened to Formation of Damnation by Testament (and you are a metalhead) then give it a try. I really do think you will enjoy it. Plus, it was the first album released after Alex Skolnick rejoined the band. They came back in a major way. As a side note, I think Eric Peterson (rhythm guitarist and writer of almost every Testament song is one of the best rhythm guitarists around). Listen to some of the riffs he plays, so easily, and you'll get an idea of what I mean. Sure, James Hetfield has written some of the most memorable riffs ever, but I believe Eric P. is actually a better player. In the end, they are both great musicians. In no way am I attempting to impugn either artist. They each do a fantastic job with what their band requires. Enjoy listening to Formation of Damnation if you have not done so in a while or if it will be for the first time. Let me know what you think. I am truly interested in your opinion. Be well.
Jesse Huerta I couldn't agree more. But the thing is I'm more into Alternative bands now (since I only started in Sep. 2014) because since my childhood I was more into my parents music like Hendrix, Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osborne and all other bands from the 60s to early 80s and I was just a kid despite loving that ughh what a show, The Naked Brother Band. And years later when I first started to play Bass I was more into Rush, Tears for Fears and my all time GOTHIC Metal band Type O Negative, but I never stopped training myself and listening to the same Gothic band until I came around Iron Maiden which blew my mind. That being said, coming from a wrestling fan and a musician, thanks to WWE I started to listen to some great Alternative Metal songs and bands (something that I should've done in the early 2000s and I wish I even knew some of the bands at the time since they were probably trending) like Godsmack, Disturbed, Breaking Benjamin, Sevendust (so inspiring and heavy!) Staind and forth, and now after a year knowing Drop tunings and the likeness of unclean vocals, I came around Burn My Eyes and I was blown away with the beginning of Davidian's intro and I knew at that moment Machine Head is going to be another band I'll start listening to. Thrash Metal is so powerful and energetic but I kinda feel that the mentioned bands I listed of Thrash Metal are just wrong for me in all ways unknowingly. I will try the album though but I can't promise any likeness. Who knows I might as well like Testament very much but I still got to finish with some of the bands I'm listening to right now, gonna try Staind, then Demon Hunter, then Machine Head. I got my plans in order but I'll try Formation of Damnation with ease! Tell me what you think of THAT opinion of mine and you have more ideas I would like to hear them.

Oh, you tried to spit in the eye of a dead man's face
Attacked the ways of a man not yet in his grave
But your hate was over all too soon
Because nothing is over, nothing's through 'til we bury you
For the love of brother

Aesthetics of hate
I hope you burn in hell, go
Oh, the words I read on the screen left me fucking sick
I felt the hatred rising, you son of a bitch
You branded us pathetic for our respect
But he made us driven, deep reverence far beyond the rest
For the love of brother
I will sing this fucking words
Aesthetics of hate
I hope you burn in hell
Oh, long live memories
Live his freedom vicariously
Defend tenfold
His honor we'll always uphold
For the love of brother
I will say these fucking words
No silence against ignorance
Iconoclast, I hope you burn, burn in hell
May the hands of God strike them down
May the hand of God strike them down
