  • This week in monetizing my art TH-cam channel, I talk about the importance of using key words for the algorithm to find us...and also the importance of being aware of anything within our heads BLOCKING us from wanting to be found.
    To learn how to put a transcript on your TH-cam video (and help your analytics!), check out this Google support page:

    Hello! TH-cam sent me this video and now im a subscriber. Im also struggling with being seen, and 57 years of hiding is a tough habit to break. But im determined to grow my channel and grow personally through it. Im rooting for us!!🎉🎉🎉

    Learning about creating a better description, using a template, made a HUGE difference for us. It made the process faster for me, it made the channel look more professional, and it gave me the right place to put the keywords I needed. It's really about balancing and connecting the thumbnail, title, and description, so each adds different (and complementary) information.
    I'm enjoying watching you go through the process I've so recently been through. You have a great attitude!

      Linda, your description area is a thing of beauty!! Wow wow wow. I am so impressed and inspired to step up my description game! Thanks so much.

    Thanks for sharing your journey with us! It definitely helps to know we’re not alone. Something I realized yesterday was that I could customize the “end screen” at the end of each video. Turns out you can actually pic videos to be suggested for viewers to watch next. Pretty cool! And I’m hoping it will help people to watch more and more of my videos.

    I’m also in my fourth week. And also just realized the power of descriptions!
    I had posted 3 shorts in one day, after about 4 days (under 10 views). After your last video with the idea that TH-cam just needs more information and WANTS people to watch your stuff they just need to know who to send it to- I decided to add descriptions. I got through 2/3 then got distracted. After only 30 minutes my views went from 4 to almost 400 on 2/3 video😮 they were the 2 shorts that I added descriptions to!
    It was very encouraging! Thank you for that change in perspective.

      Oh, this is fantastic! I am looking forward to really upping the description game! i am also going to take Jen @beautifullifesage's advice and check out the template she uses for her description (her comment is on here).

    OK, here I am again from my new channel. Exciting 👀. My first video is scheduled to release at 12 pm EST and I still have that feeling of... "no, no, delete it now...I am not ready" 💥

      @@annelivingstonart Just before publishing, I saw the video on Tubebuddy with the advice to never launch a new channel with just 1 video. You should have 5 of them ready to be able to refer from one to the other, so I must make a few more videos first and canceled the publication of the other one 🌻

    Hi Anne! I’m also following Jen’s monetization videos on Patreon. I appreciate your videos so very much! I have created space for two channels, but have yet to get past my block of actually turning on the record button. I’m an artist and retired educator (sounds familiar?) Your idea of being of service truly resonates with me. I also feel that this is the time for women such as we are to get involved and support each other!

      Yes yes yes, Laura! I cannot wait to see your first (and many) videos to come!♥️ People want and need our brand of genuine care, and we have given it away freely (and FOR FREE) all the time! People want and need to see real things and real people like us!
      Awhile back my first videos were just my hands doing art things. It helped loosen the jar lid on my resistance to doing it. Just throwing it out there! ♥️
      Please come back and tell me when you post so I can like it and comment!

    You may be able to cut time in the transcript process by utilizing “talk to text” in your phone notes! Then copy pasting to your desktop. Unless you are a fast typer… I am not. 😂I think my generation got the very butt end of typing classes right before phones and touch screens really took over.

    You may want to see if TH-cam automatically makes transcripts of your video. I know it does close captioning, but it takes a couple of days after you post the video.

    • @annelivingstonart
      @annelivingstonart  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Ahhh that is good to know! That must be why I didn't see it automatically happening with the transcript, because it takes a couple of days. So I guess the reason to provide your own transcript/captions would be:
      1. being able to offer the transcript right away to help boost early engagement
      2. making sure the transcript and captions are accurate, especially for those accidental mumble moments.😅
      But anyway, thank you for letting me know! This is good info!

    I used to hate being in front of a camera, but I needed to get used to it for work. To build my confidence, I created a private Facebook group where I was the only member. I started going live in that group, so no one else could see me. This allowed me to get comfortable talking on camera and review my videos to see how I could improve. I noticed that I often looked too serious and used filler words like "uh" and "okay" too much. Practicing in this way helped me become more aware and improve my on-camera presence. I hope this tip helps your friend.
    As for me, I plan to watch all your videos that I have not seen yet, to help increase your view hours. Plus, I have another surprise for you, but I'll share that from a different channel. Yes, I have multiple channels where I just used to post videos of my rescued animals to not loose them and will subscribe to you from those as well. Just like you said, we're over 50 and here to support each other. I want to do that for you. 😊

      thank you so, so much!♥️♥️♥️ also what a great idea, making a private Facebook group to help yourself workshop your own video demeanor.
      I know when I started watching previously recorded zoom videos with me on them, my expression looked like I was in actual pain when I was trying to make a point. I realized I need to fix my face! Ha ha ha ha 😂what I mean is I had to fix my in-pain expression on camera.

      As far as I know, you can do this on TH-cam, too. I also have the "uh-problem" 😂🙈.

    • @EvaServais
      @EvaServais 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Coloricious sure you can, you just have extra steps to do with filling in details on TH-cam, unlisiting them of making them private etc. FB is simple quicker, go live and that's it, nothing to fill in or make secure so others don't see it 😅
