    Isn’t it great when you get excited about a new skill? This week has been a down week for me. I’m still recovering from the fast-paced momentum I was experiencing when I was teaching AND creating content. So I guess I’ve allowed June to be my “recovery month”. I haven’t created as much in terms of video. I needed some time to get centered and in vacation mode. I’ve been learning about script writing for educational videos as well as ways to monetize beyond Adsense. My creative brain REALLY needed some rest. lol. An idea for you… Consider doing a LIVE video where you are teaching some art concepts. The LIVE hours don’t count toward Watch time… but the replay hours do! That’s a great benefit because if your live is an hour long tutorial and people watch even 10 minutes of the replay, you’re getting 10 min watch time PER viewer as opposed to maybe 1.5-3 min per viewer. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

    Anne, I would keep the titel that is popular with a similar picture every week for the Challenge. That makes it easier for people to discover them and separate them from your regular videos. At least that is what I am going to do after researching YT...follow what is popular. It's easy to change thumbnails and it avoids overload. Meanwhile, keep going...that's the only way to go 💙

    One of the things I did that I found VERY helpful was something I was somewhat skeptical of at first. It's a free online course. Five days of daily live videos, where you can comment and ask questions. A separate forum where you are given challenges and encouraged to meet them. A lot of the information they discussed was very useful to me, and my channel has, in fact, grown tremendously since I started doing some of what they suggest. This includes publishing one video that did so well that it, alone, reached the watch hours required for monetization, and brought in thousands of new subscribers. This was after three years of regularly posting and being "stuck" at a fairly low level of engagement. Some of what they are doing is promoting their paid course, and I understand that. I chose not to do the paid course not because I didn't think it would be useful, but because I felt like I wasn't really at the right place for it, as far as my goals and available time. I have been watching to see when they offer the 5-day thing again, and they just announced it, so I've come over here to let you know about it. courses.seancannell.com/youtube-1k-challenge-sign-up-july-2024 The daily videos begin on July 8. If you are unable to attend them live, you can watch a recorded version later, as long as you've signed up for the challenge. These five videos gave me a good list of things to work on and improve, and a better understanding of how some things work, as well as some great online resources that I hadn't ever considered because I didn't know any such thing was available.

      @annelivingstonart 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you! And yes indeed about slow and steady. I made a video the other day that I didn't publish because I'm still working out the thoughts about the idea, and I actually said, "Slow and steady wins the race, but what about fast and steady?" I was considering doing a daily posting to smooth out my video skills and not put so much pressure on any one post. To spend an hour per day rather than 4-5 hours per 2 videos per week, for a total of fewer hours per week. I'm still not sure if it is a good idea or not. My learning curve is so vertical right now with making videos. Could I really limit my daily work to an hour on video production? Seems unlikely at present. I love daily projects with ALL OF MY HEART (I have done a total of four different 100 day projects related to art and they are utterly transformative). But the evergreen nature of this content makes me less inclined to just go willy nilly over here compared to, say, Instagram where everything is so ephemeral-seeming.

    • @JackieWolven
      @JackieWolven 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@annelivingstonart, ooooo, that is a big question, isn't it? I don't think I could do it daily because what I think will take an hour inevitably takes four. That creep into my time would be really hard. And there is something about that "evergreen" idea... we want to make content that will last through the ages. That can be watched in a year, two years, etc... and with that, I don't know if I have enough oomph of ideas to do it daily. I'll be super curious about what you do, though!

    Great video, and any tips for setting up popups in the region? And do you try to get them in local media

      do you mean ideas for identifying places to have a pop-up and asking people to host you? I do have ideas based on things that II and my friends have done. If that is what you're wondering about, then I could totally make a video about that! including local media ideas.

      You are so welcome! I am realizing more than ever while doing this TH-cam work that there are many blocks that I didn't even know are there, and so it's important to look at them and talk through them , see if there is any value to them ( is this really keeping me safe? ) and figure out how to work around them.

    I would personally love a video on shoe painting! What kind of paint to use? Is there a type of shoe or shoe fabric that is better?
