I personally feel like Ghanaians artists don’t know how to promote their music, they just post and go. As someone living in the uk sometimes I won’t even notice they have dropped a song. Being a musician isn’t just about dropping bangers but it’s about pushing music and your brand.
Ghana's hateful and envious spirit is holding them back. Meanwhile, Nigeria is making progress by cooperating and helping one another. When Wizkid plays on a big arena, he will invite a new Nigerian artist to the stage, to help introduce the person to the world.

Yes, he is. But look at Stone’s style of music. He’s not an afrobeats singer. He’s an Afro fusion singer. The Billboard 100 is not easy to land on. Yes, Rema, Burna, and Tems did it. But look at how long it took them to do it. It’s not easy. You mentioned you’re not seeing the results. The guy just signed onto the label. It’s going to take time.
Nigerian dominance did not happen overnight. they created legislature that has ultimately forced innovation and talent generation. SA have the same law. it's not a coincidence they are the two biggest countries when it comes to African entertainment (music and movies). surprised you didn't address that.
Stop saying shit. We don't have any legislation by government to develop our music. Why don't you point to the document proving your point? You Ghanaians lie a lot.
Sarkodie's unwillingness to sign to a huge record label has dramatically affected his ability to penetrate globally. If his career dies off, he'll have himself to blame. He's no more making the numbers like he used to. Perhaps he needs to change things up dramatically but strategically. I think people are gradually getting over ( if they are not over already) his style. I still believe that the Bob Marley feature could have changed things for the better. It could have been more on the rhythm of the song rather than a strong, fast-paced rap that didn't really appeal to a broader audience.
Correction: WE think he’s not international. He’s definitely international, but because he’s a rapper he’s not going to be on the level of an afrobeats singer like Burna, Wiz etc. In terms of talent, Sark is in the same league as them. WE just don’t see him that way.
@Kwam D. The premise is not whether he is international or not. The issue here is, his ability to compete for global presence is the problem. His is not capable at this point. He cannot compete with Mavins not to talk of the big wigs like Empire, Sony and Def Jamz. Check his numbers for the record.
International labels are like international football clubs , if you don't meet their criteria you can't be sign ,stop saying he is refusing to sign . akon tried to help him but Akon realized that the guy only want to remain a local hero
Ghanaian artists and other Africans are busy complaining about Nigerian success instead of collaborating and humbling yourself to link with where the successs lies so they too can grow. Look at Bryan Adams, Drake, Justin bieber, Shania Twain, Celine Dion, Avril Lavigne, etc who are Canadians, but they link up with the Americans and even go to live in USA so that they can plug into the American market. Now, see how successful and unversal those Canadian artists are all over the world.
That odewu song cough by Kizz Daniel blew up before the song was released.. it's like Finesse by Pheelz . Those songs blew up before release. The truth is if you build up a brand for your artists and create a fanbase, their music will move out fast. Ghanaian artists are just making songs but there is no vibrant pop culture to support it. Nigerians have created a pop culture that has gone global. The language(pidgin), the swag, the music, the movies, the bad reputation (scam), the good reputation (spenders, lovers, travellers, vibrant diaspora). It is everything Nigerians are known globally for good and bad it makes them, their music and culture marketable. Infact Nigeria is at a point where their culture markets itself
If the stability was sang by the GH lady you mentioned, it would sound nothing like Ayra Starr's because they are different artistes with different vibes, sounds and approach to music. I've never heard this Wendy lady sing before but maybe those who have, know stability would have sounded completely different if she had sang it 🤷. They are from two different backgrounds and don't approach music the same way. Even if it was Tiwa that sang stability it won't be the same way Ayra sang it. The chorus is sampled exactly as Awilo Logonba sang his chorus so if you think it's trash then you maybe don't like Awilo's songs or maybe that particular one. And let's not forget that no matter how similar GH people think Nigeria is to them, we do not speak the same way nor have the same contexts so stability may sound like noisy jibberish to you but it has meaning to us at the end of the day music is subjective. If any GH rapper were to rap a song that an SA artiste is getting so much hype for it won't be the same because each nation has a unique flavour they add to a song and another person singing it, may make it become distasteful.
This is exactly all I have always said. We sound differently. Our thick and deep accent help our songs compared to the lighter accent of Ghanaians. Why have many people not noticed this.

Nigeria
Ethiopia
Egypt

Nigerians and Ghanaians sound differently. Our accents differ. Even if a Ghanaian sings Soso or Calm down or Sability it won't sound the same. Even the Nigerian Pidgin sounds unique and widely accepted. We are linguistically different. Listen k Odeyewu, let a Ghanaian sing it you would see it sounds different and may not be as appealing as a Nigerian singing it. Its not just about structures and investment. Intonation matters. Let's all face areas we have comparative advantage and stop the unhealthy competition.
VERY UNHEALTHY COMPETITION INDEED!

Musicians are really working hard✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
If you don't listen to what your audience wants, that's what happens. Our artiste dema ears haaaaaaaaaaard. We also like family and friends too much. Artiste are not adding value to their crafts. Some artistes need serious vocal finesse. If the producer or sound engineer is not delivering, let him know or let him go. We need to be honest with ourselves when a production is bad. Unfortunately the fans and bloggers are not helping. This thing is called showbiz. Unfortunately, many of our artistes die off too quickly for most of these reasons. This is business, but we don't take it as such.

Our music appeals to Ghanaians alone
We just need a good musical structure so that the labels would come in 4 our artists
For real and he has been in the scene for a long time and Sarkodie really has not reached on an international level like he should’ve been
Correction: WE think he’s not international.

"Sability" nu de3 edey bee waaaaa.
The first time i heard that song aplay saaaa.
Obviously they won't sound same, he is just laying emphasis and drawing comparison to attitude oflisternership btwen naija and gh.
