Let's remember the biggest thing old Patrick did: He gave Spongebob the confidence to get a job at the Krusty Krab kicking off the series in its first episode. So what does he do now? Ruin stuff for everyone.
W0Y4K Patrick back then was stupid but at least he had a heart and was willing to do this to help his friends. Now, he’s just dumb to be dumb and never really contributing to anything. It’s honestly sad because Patrick had a lot of potential.
yeah, you're the only one. you're a special snowflake. one of 10000 other special snowflakes that wanna feel superior to the majority and write stuff like "am i the only one who likes the old X the new X kids love these days is sooo bad yeah".
Basically new spongebob is good when you’re young but you quickly realize its terrible and annoying when you grow up. However, old spongebob is timeless and always enjoyable.
I never liked the newer seasons, even as a kid. They were either the most boring and uneventful episodes of a cartoon I had ever seen or they invoked pure hatred and/or disgust
Everyone in the Bikini Bottom used to love and genuinely care about SpongeBob so much that they were more than willing to beat up an old man because they thought that he was threatening to kick Sponge's butt. They even followed and supported him as their leader in Band Geeks (which is, by the way, the absolute greatest and funniest SpongeBob episode of all time and my personal favorite) and were inspired by the fantastic speech he made about the importance of teamwork and pulling together. The people of Bikini Bottom used to be so likable and were part of what used to make the show so great and chipper. Now there was en episode devoted to all of them making a stupid No SpongeBob day. All of a sudden they hate him and are incredibly mean spirited towards him.
Tbh i agree with most of the criticism in this vid but i actually think Gone was one of the best modern episodes. I think the moral of the episode was that you can get on people’s nerves without realizing it yourself, and inevitably you’ll end up bothering everyone close to you at some point, and that it’s good to recognize when you’re doing this. At the same time, it shows the opposite perspective - if someone’s bothering you and they don’t realize, don’t get mad at them because they weren’t intending to upset you. A good thing to do may be to “take a break” from that person, but be sure to come back because the break is for you to calm down, not to avoid the person. If everyone just ditched someone as soon as they were annoyed by them, that person would feel very confused and lonely, like spongebob in Gone. I think how the episode portrays everyone when they get back really shows that this was the moral they were going for. They’ve all calmed down and calmly tell spongebob he was being annoying instead of yelling at him (like squidward often does, even in the earlier episodes). At the end when they do “national no patrick day,” they immediately are accepting of spongebob again, showing they dont have any grudge toward him. Mr Krabs even tried to cheer him up once everyone got back. Spongebob did feel bad, but it was implied he would’ve been fine if it was only a day (“a day? But you guys have been gone for weeks!”) and he thought everyone burning an effigy of him was funny. I think the moral of this Gone was misinterpreted, and without that misinterpretation it would be considered a good episode, especially by modern spongebob standards. Sorry for the long, rambling comment, just wanted to give my opinion on this
@@Reapermaskhybrid STOP TALKING! That was way after the movie, and if you assume that explanation, then Spongebob's solution was pointless. I hate it when Logan makes the ending of X-Men: Days of Future Past meaningless! Besides, in the other episodes, like Someone's in the Kitchen With Sandy, they acted way different from how they did with the fruitcake.
@@uranium54321 There was no moral of the story in Gone!!! Just because everyone was tired of Spongebob didn't mean they had to give him such a cruel surprise. OK KO's Plaza Alone didn't have a...National No KO/Enid/Rad Day! April 21, 2020, 11:33pm
Hooba Dooba yea, the old school an8mation was much more wild and funny looking..while the new looks way too clean and polished. I mean its ok and all, but the old shool was so unique
10: The karate episodes are my favorite with Sandy. I can't think of any from recent years. 9: Some of the detailed animation made a scene more humorous actually but most of the time IMO it's gross. CoughSplinterCough 8: I feel like they recycle the Plankton-Patty plot more than any other and its just bland now. Fun fact: he was only supposed to make one appearance but he was really popular and they brought him back. Which was fine for a while but now... 7: No real comments here, but nice points. 6: I cannot STAND shows where everyone is an idiot. A few is fine but don't make everyone super obnoxious and stupid and ugh! Remember when Disney Channel parents were smart? Kim Possible's dad was literally a rocket scientist and her mom was a brain surgeon. In American Dragon, Jake's father was kind of a cuckoolander, but he was also ignorant of the truth. Not too many morons. 5: I can't stand how much SPongebob cries. Not because he's a boy, but because most of the time the reason is irritating. I liked it when he stood up for himself in the old episodes, like when he DEMANDED Mr. Krabs hire Squidward again because he was losing his mind. No one I know cries when they stub their toe. They yell and hop around and make noises like Squidward does when he gets mad. 4: In the older episodes, IMO, his money lust could sometimes be humorous or help him develop character, like when he sold Spongebob for 62 cents. He regretted what he had done and that told us he cared about spongebob. Now he treats his fry cook like a slave, sometimes literally by not paying him and letting him take the blame for a crime he committed to save a few dollars. 3: Well put. All of these thoughts I've heard before but you elaborated on them; very well done. 2: I feel bad for Squidward now. In the earlier seasons his misery was just because he hates his job and his neighbors because they ruin everything he holds dear, but now it seems like he's the creators' voodoo doll. 1: I've never thought about all the cruelty, but well done again. Very interesting video guys!
Why didn't Spongebob just take his arm off in the splinter???? as seen in previous episodes like "Graveyard Shift" and "Secret Box" Spongebob's arm are in fact removable, and grow back!
i think they're written fine, they just aren't acted very well. That's the kind of thing that can really only improve over time with practice. This channel will probably age very well
Mrs. Puff should've been talked about as well. In the first three seasons(the classics of SpongeBob..), she was a LOT nicer to SpongeBob! She could tolerate him. But NOW, she can't even stand him! She wants him to get hurt and just has a strong HATRED for SpongeBob. I used to like her as a character but now she's just completely crossed that line of being likeable either.
Agreed. I mean, there were very few episodes where Mrs. Puff got angry at spongebob in the first three seasons, and when she did it was for a valid reason. But now...with episodes like Demolition Doofus...Must I say more?
And here's something else Squidward isn't the only character suffering, Plainkton is also being tortured here, it breaks your heart when you see who is supposed to be the real villain of the show, becoming a victim. He was the main bad guy tried to steal the Kraby Patty secret formula a run Mr. Krabs out of business, now he is just portrayed as someone trying to be successful, yes he still tries to steal the formula but the mere fact that every including Mr Krabs and Spongebob mock him for having a failing business, even Karen, his wife mocks him, in the older seasons it was entertaining to see what diabolical plan he had to steal the formula, and more interesting to see how Spongebob and Mr. Krabs would save the day, but now, you would wish that you could just give him the formula yourself
I haven't watched the new Spongebobs for many years now, but one of things I notice immediately with the new episodes is the surprising lack of artistic detail that used to be central to enhancing immersion. In the original seasons, when characters would make fast motions, air bubbles would form. When Squidward laughed, his nose would shrink and expand. This is just one aspect of the overall decline in quality that the show proudly held in the original seasons. Episodes today feel _cheaper_
There is a lot of tweening involved in the newer episodes. They are not purely hand-drawn frame-by-frame like they used to be. The artists' creative input is declined severely, as there is no "what if we do this?" moment while drawing the animations. The more advanced your tools get to create something, the less creative people seem to become. This is similar to what happened to Star Wars. In the original trilogy, Lucas had to create sets and props, film on location, and use practical effects to get his ideas across. For the prequels, though, he just put people in front of a blue screen and sent the result to a special effects studio. The less thinking you are forced to do, the less thinking you will do.
Spongebob used to be for adults And kids. Because it had so many adult like jokes. For example: Krabby Land. Here is a joke from the episode. "Have your free coloring book& liability weavers"!!
Am I the only one who prefers season 1's animation style over the other seasons? I like that it isn't that good quality, and sound isn't over used too.
+Natalie P I think its mostly a nostalgic thing, seeing it in HD, with good animation gives it the vibe that its new. It's like how I much prefer the older Simpsons before 2000 because it isn't crisp and smooth.
it's not a nostalgia thing for the most part(altho that plays into it) crispy cleanness has a lot of downsides, with the older animation your brain would fill in blanks and imagine a much more realisitc world
What's with all the hate. 1st so what if the video is 45 minutes long.... In my opinion it was very well executed and explained. They could have made it 5 minutes long... true.... but that would not even slightly have covered it all... You can clearly see that they are sad about a part of their childhood being ruined... just like the rest of us. 2nd yes.... it's two grown men talking about Spongebob... So what? That is exactly why they qualify. They have obviously watched Spongebob when they were a lot younger .... and remember what it was and meant back then. Most of the original Spongebob audience is now... you guessed it.... their age! Observing the changes that happened to Spongebob really makes you feel bad, and you can actually feel their pain by seeing how a part of their childhood just got ruined. LIKE MOST OF US DO! And let's be clear here: I'd rather watch 2 grown men talking and doing a moral and ethical analysis of Spongebob than listen to haters that are younger than the original Spongebob series... 3rd As for you guys, who made the video.... Congratulations... you did an excellent job! I salute you!
As for your second point on the idiots who comment that, it can all be summarized by this quote: "A children's story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children's story in the slightest." -C.S. Lewis
Spongebob hasn't been the same for a few years now. It's really turned into a show revolving around weird, gross faces, screaming, reused content, and confusing plots.
Gary is the only character that never changed! Just think about it. He loves Spongebob and always stand up for him no matter what. He, Larry, and Pearl are the only characters that never changed at all!

I really hate the over exaggerated unnecessary faces and body movements. Even when they are just walking, the animators extend their faces. When they wipe something off their face, it’s like their face is a slingshot. They try to make “funny” or “silly” faces, but none of them are not funny or silly at all. They are abusing it, the old spongebob silly faces are much funnier. There’s not even that much silly faces in old spongebob in general, which means they take time so they are actually good.
Let me be the one to say this: Most, if not ALL. Of the modern Spongebob artists might’ve worked on either Rocko’s Modern Life, Ren and Stimpy, or literally any internet parody. Internet Parodies, and even the other shows I’ve said, are known to be over the top with the art. I’m not saying it’s a completely bad thing (exaggeration is one of the principles of animation for fucks sake), but it’s known to be overused, especially POKÉMON ones like BeeFwee: A Pokémon Parody. Gookie faces aren’t ALL of the video; there is a twist to the titular Butterfree, but it’s owner has definitely got one too many face lifts. Spongebob artists of the modern day shan’t follow the John K footsteps. Stupid Faces have become unfunny at this point, and I agree with every single word you’re saying. That’s the bottom line.

Kevin Azzinoth First of all, it's a video they uploaded to TH-cam, they should expect criticism. Second of all, I can speak my mind if l find something l deem fit to be expressed. And finally, if enough people do agree with me, they might change it, because, after all, they make the videos for us.
I think one more problem with this show is the fast-paced humor. I saw some episodes from seasons 5-8 recently and I saw some jokes that had potential to work, but immediately right after those jokes it went to the next scene all of a sudden. The creators didn't even bother to let the joke breathe for a bit, at least seasons 1-3 gave their jokes more breathing space to give you time to realize it rather than rushing them for no reason.
Wrath's Turntable Time Machine Rocksmash Attack (AKA The Mysterious Reuploader, Ace-edo Mask!) I also tend to read the description, but sometimes I forget to.
Wow 0_o This is one of the worst comment sections I have ever seen. And keep in mind I have read comments from GradeAUnderA and Leafy expose videos. "You guys are over analyzing it"- This argument is just a blanket term to silence criticism. I love how everyone says this, but they almost never back up the statement. In that case, your argument has absolutely no weight. However, if you say this and then complain about their "cringy jokes" and all that, aren't you doing the exact same thing as them? Bit hypocritical, don't you think? "It's just a kid show" SO WHAT? That doesn't free it from criticism. I could use the same argument against you and say "It's just a youtube video". "This video was 50 minutes and they complain about filler" Firstly, learn how to count. It's 44 :p Secondly, are you really that desperate for argument? This is a youtube video, not a show. There isn't any plot, so technically there is no "filler". But I'll give these people the benefit of the doubt and say instead that they were "wasting time". Uh.....did you watch the video? Most of it they stayed on track and talked about the number. Yeah, it took a while, but you want to know why? Because they actually wanted to make a good video and elaborate on their arguments. Oh, and "jokes" are not an excuse for "filler" unless they go on forever, which none of them do (off the top of my head) Honestly all this proves to me is how desperate some people can be for an argument and how most people in this comment section have no idea how to provide any fair criticism aside from "her der your joke aren't funny". If you dislike the video, fair enough. You are allowed your opinion. But these arguments are just blanket terms that don't provide any good reason to dislike it.
+TheTrueLuigiFan 1. "Nonetheless, this is still an awful video" Did I say anything about the quality of the video? The answer is no. All I did was list counter arguments to the blanket arguments that people cough up. I enjoyed the video, but since this has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the video and only the people who want to shut these guys up through every means necessary, we can agree to disagree. It's completely irrelevant. 2. "Literally every point they bring up can be countered" No duh. They are giving their OPINIONS. Everyone has their own opinions, and every opinion ever given forth has another side. Also, BY YOUR OWN LOGIC, considering I'm countering your arguments, I guess that means all your arguments are awful :p 3. "EVEN THE TITLE OF THE VIDEO CAN BE COUNTERED. When they say modern, obviously they are referencing bad SpongeBob, not the modern SpongeBob." I agree with this point to an extent. These guys (and the community in general, really) uses the term "modern" as kind of the bad seasons. Everyone has their own definition of "Modern Spongebob". Despite it being pretty nitpicky, I agree with to an extent. 4. "(P.S., I think modern SB is amazing. Now shoot yourself in the head if you are going to attack me for my opinion.)" Arguably your weakest point. You tell me to kill myself if I'm going to attack you for my opinion? Uh......aren't you literally doing the exact same thing to me? You're telling me to kill myself (a.k.a. attacking me) for my own opinion on the comment section of this video/my opinions on modern Spongebob. I recommend looking up the word "hypocrisy"
1. "The same way you stated your point of view, the same way I'll state mine. No need to ask me for my opinion, sir. I'll state it whenever I'd like." Again, I never said anything about the actual video. It's completely irrelevant. Also, I never "asked you for your opinion". Your just pulling that out of thin air. All I said is we can agree to disagree. 2. "Yet they are treating every single one of them as a fact. Also, what kind of sh*t logic is that? When have I ever stated that? Context is a thing." Name 1 place in the video they stated their opinions as facts. Actually, at the end of the video they even said they wouldn't judge people they don't even know based on the show they liked. "Also, what kind of sh*t logic is that?" Your logic apparently :p You specifically said, "Literally every point they bring up can be countered." So that means if you can counter an argument, it's a bad argument, by your logic. Either that, or you did a horrible job explaining yourself, which still isn't my fault. 3. "LOL, you took everything I've said out of context." Ok, stop right here. Who are you, Keemstar? Jokes aside, I didn't take a word of what you said out of context. I put the entire quote there. I don't think you understand what "out of context" means. "If you disagree with my opinion, fine, but I was addressing this to anyone who just-so-happens to pass by this comment section and attack me for liking modern SB. Also, discussion =/= attacking." "discussion =/= attacking." But you know what does equal attacking? Telling someone to kill themselves. Like you did. "know the difference, sir Avis. I like your channel man, but where did all of your point even come from???" I do know the difference. I know the difference between telling someone to kill themselves and discussing opinions. Apparently you don't. I appreciate your compliments, but hardly any of your arguments addressed mine. Not even in your first comment. My issue was the comment. And you decided to go on a rant on the video itself, which is not what I was even talking about to begin with.
1. "I ain't going to rewatch this video. It's a chore to sit through. The comment sections are just people criticizing this video overall and not specific sections of it. The top comment literally states something about them saying there isn't much to say." You could have just skipped to the part where they talk about One Coarse Meal. That's that I did :p Of course I don't expect you to sit through a 44 minute video you obviously don't like XD 2. "The fact that I took it seriously means I didn't find it funny, at all. Even without the "jokes aside", the KEEM jokes are lame now." It doesn't matter if you found it funny or not. It was a joke, and not something to be taken seriously. 3. "I think you misunderstood what I said. No, shooting yourself and killing yourself are the same things. I stated that if you're going to state something like "Modern SB is for stupid people" or anything like that, then please die." "No, not really. I fail to see where I'm being hypocritical because I just explained myself clearly." BECAUSE YOU SKIPPED A GIANT SECTION OF MY COMMENT. If I agreed with you in that section, then whatever, I wouldn't have cared. We've been doing that the whole time anyways :p Right after I was done talking about One Coarse Meal, there was an entire section where I basically explained that this whole time your biggest complaint with me is "I wasn't letting you have your opinion" or whatever. Yet you called their opinion "false". I recommend taking a look at that. Also, you called me out for making "assumptions", yet you already made one yourself: "Are you implying one's opinion is irrelevant? Sick." "No, not really. I fail to see where I'm being hypocritical because I just explained myself clearly." All you did was explain how hypocritical you were XD "I stated that if you're going to state something like "Modern SB is for stupid people" or anything like that, then please die." Translation: It's not okay for other people to attack me (i.e. attack you for liking modern Spongebob) but it's completely 100% okay for you to attack them (i.e. tell them to kill themselves) How do you not see the hypocrisy in that? It's literally the same thing.
1. "LOL WHAT?! Where did you get this from? With or without you stating my statement is irrelevant or not, it still will be my opinion. I'm sorry, but YES, what I have stated is relevant because we are specifically talking about this video. Do you not know what a comments section is for?" The only reason it's "relevant" is because you brought it up. In my original first comment, I SPECIFICALLY only talked about the comment section. The only thing I said in my comment about the video was, and I quote: "If you dislike the video, fair enough. You are allowed your opinion." The rest of my entire first comment was SPECIFICALLY about the comments. So you clearly have no idea what you're talking about, or you just didn't both reading my original comment. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if it was both. "They are treating them as facts." Stop right there. Again, provide evidence. You can't make a bold statement like that and then not back it up at all. As I said previously, the specifically said towards the end of the video, "If you dislike this show, fine. It would be unfair for us to judge you based on the show you like" (This isn't quote for quote btw) You have no evidence for them treating their facts like opinions. They never stated it as facted, and they said it was fine if you like the show. "There is such thing as a wrong opinion." Okay, stop. Stop, stop stop. I'm done. I can't even do this anymore. You are outright STATING their opinion is wrong. You clearly have no idea what an opinion is. Either that, or you know it, but still knowingly disrespect their opinion by claiming it is wrong. For someone that was so mad at me for "claiming your opinion is irrelevant", you outright STATED that their opinion is wrong. If you can't understand that there are no such thing as right or wrong opinions, and that opinions are only personal beliefs, then I can't continue this conversation.
1. "Yes, but they make it seem like that this is all of what modern SB is despite it being not true." IN THEIR OPINION, this is what modern Spongebob is. I really don't understand why you can't just let them have their opinion. 2. "If I call the sky purple, is my opinion right? wrong" The sky being blue is a fact, not an opinion. The plot recycling part (your example) is an opinion. In their opinion, modern Spongebob reuses plots. If you disagree, that is perfectly fine. But that is still their opinion, and for some reason you won't let them have it. 3. "I claim it is wrong because I can tell they have some sort of bias towards premovie SB, treating it like it is a God and completely flawless. Nowhere in the video have they ever stated that premovie has had flaws too, either that, or they're blinded by nostalgia!" Even if it is biased (which is just an assumption, and you have no evidence behind it) who cares! It's still an opinion! I really don't understand why you won't just let them have their opinion. They never said ANYTHING in this video was fact. They never insulted anyone for liking the show. All they did was give their opinion.
Well if you see some notable spongebob internet jokes meme, most of them is from older episode and season, and this is a prove that the old stilll gold, rip hilenburg you are a real father that know how spongebob should be
I remember watching “modern” SpongeBob as a kid in the 2010s and just really disliking it, mostly for the show’s gross art style and the cruel nature of the characters, making me steer clear from SpongeBob for most of my childhood. It wasn’t until I got older and saw memes of old SpongeBob that I decided to go back to the show and see its older episodes. From what I could tell, old and “modern” SpongeBob are two completely different shows, with the former having charming animation, a light-hearted tone among the cast, and genuinely funny and iconic moments that are still referenced today. Overall, I just wish that old SpongeBob was the type of show and first impression I got of SpongeBob when I was a kid rather than “modern” SpongeBob and I’m certainly not excited to see the new SpongeBob show Nickelodeon is making despite Hillenberg’s wishes. Alas, at least we have the SpongeBob musical.
@Valerie Cee I understand how you feel. Since I was born in late 2001, I grew up watching the classic and middle episodes. However at 11 years old, I have realized how mean spirited and annoying had the show become. Therefore, I developed a hatred of “modern at the time” spongebob.
I watched the first three seasons of SpongeBob over and over again last year, and I have to say that I was surprised by how the characters were amazingly made. Like Squidward saving SpongeBob from getting hit by a truck in Krusty Krab Pizza and later on shoves the pizza in the orderer’s face after he made SpongeBob cry. SpongeBob was more mature back then but was childish, Patrick was a lovable idiot who cared about his best friend, Squidward was a jerk but cared for his neighbor a little, Sandy was a girlboss, and Mr. Krabs actually cared about his employees. Now since Paul Tibbett became head writer, he managed to destroy the characters in seasons 5-9, but the show was good again when Stephan came back, until he died :( I really hope this show ends, because it’s been running for too long and it needs a finale. The characters that haven’t been affected by the horrible writers were Pearl, Gary, Larry, and the Flying Dutchman.

You gotta hate patrick way more than Mr. Krabs. Patrick's cruelty is fucking beyond and at this point I feel like he should just be thrown out of the show because of how annoying he is. I think there is way more wrong with patrick than what was covered on this video and I think a 3 hour video can be made just about how annoying patrick is.
He's practically insane in the new episodes. There's even an entire episode of just him trying it literally kill squidward for money. He literally straight up doesn't care now.
I feel that shows today are trying to be cool to kids by putting trends on episodes that will disappear before an episode is aired. Remember those shows during the 1990's-2010? The shows at that time have no worry of anything and put their creative ideas in shows that will result of people liking it and remembering it. The only exception is sometimes bad episodes will pop up in shows that are good. Nowa days, it seemed like shows are very worried about its reputation to kids in todays time, since computers and phones are a thing now than TV. I believe they also put crap in episodes because they worried that kids will hate them because their not cool enough. Look at cartoon network. Right now their in hot water because they airing a show that people hate over and over again (you know what show it is) and shows no respect to other shows on the channel. Its the same thing on Nick with their "trend bumpers" between break times of each episode, although it doesn't affect anything to the channel. Disney on the other hand is chill with todays time and accepts shows that are very good (Example:Gravity Falls). They balanced todays world and good stuff evenly. Ducktales the reboot has a the same thing as in one episode, a character has a modern phone but never brags about todays trends. That leads to a good episode instead of "Trend Filler" as i call it. And its not only TV, its some games too. For example, ROBLOX, a very popular game, began as a very good game with a lot of creativity and freedom to their players. Now a days, its now filled with 5 year olds screaming to their mommies to get Robux and freedom is limited to their players due to limited speech, games that are good and free in game cash (i will miss you tix). Its the same thing with Minecraft. It used to be a very peaceful game with players with creative minds but now little screaming children took over Minecraft and TH-camrs uploaded trash like "REAL MINECRAFT". The world today now focuses on children than adults themselves. Without any wisdom, or lessons, our next generation can lead our race into a dark age of forgotten information of the past, and the few who learned wisdom and received lessons, will be forgotten by many people and ignored. *THIS RANT IS YOUR OPINION, NOT MINE. VaporReborn Actually 1987-2015, but the point still stands. We did have some gluts of bad shows, like 1990 or 2005-2009, though. About half of the shows from those periods stank.

I come back to rewatch this, even 3 years after it's been posted. After the original producer died, I think they should end the show in a way like Band Geeks- but not using the same plot... but making a new one, one that is memorable, and one where everybody is happy, and puts closure on the series, in honor of Stephen Hillenburg.
I believe there is a copypasta describing this: Just imagine this one day. The last episode of spongebob. Spongebob finally got his drivers license. Squidward finally became a famous musician and artist. Sandy makes a groundbreaking scientific discovery. Mr. Krabs makes a million dollars and retires in style and passes his formula on to Plankton to continue the business and they shake hands calling eachother brothers. As for patrick, well, he proves to the world that mayonaise is in fact an instrument. The gang gathers one last time to have fun in jellyfish fields. The camera slowly zooms out over bikini bottom as this song begins to play and we hear that french narrator calmly say, "Ahh, bikini bottom. Here we leave our nautical friends. And as they say, F is for friends who do stuff together, U is for you and me, N is for anywhere and anytime at all, down here in the deep blue sea. (Credits)
For me, it was the horrible, hope-for-humanity-draining monstrosity from WhoBob WhatPants. That thing is fucking terrifying, and I sincerely hope the animator who drew it got fired and blacklisted. It's like if Sure Squidward and Moar Krabs had an unholy love child, but just like in the classic, drama-tinged epic The Ugly Barnacle, it was so ugly that they died. It's so horrifying that it gives my nightmares nightmares. It's fucking disturbing... and I don't particularly care for it.
They should just cancel Spongebob. Regardless if they hired some of the old writers back, it's far too late. The tone and quality of the show has wained far too much and the damage is irreparable.
Thanks for reuploading this. You covered so many excellent points and I agree with all of them. I'm actually surprised that none of my friends realise that Spongebob Squarepants has turned into such a horrible and annoying show.
XboxOneEliteGamingMaster - Making Xbox One Elite MX I think this video is ahead of its time, unless he reuploaded this to discuss why many people didn't like the show between 2008 and 2012.
Squidward's my favorite character so it really hurts to see him being tortured all the time. That episode with the toenail made me physically cringe and feel like my toenail was gonna be ripped off...
I honestly like Pre-movie Squidward more.In the older episodes,he was a jerk who got what he deserved, but he was unlikeable. But in the newer episodes,he feels like an abuse victim
i knew there was something about the modern seasons that just rubbed me the wrong way, but i couldn't for the life of me figure it out. you just put your finger on all of the reasons it made me so uncomfortable. so, thanks for helping me with that, i guess. it's really sad that a show as great as spongebob, that i absolutely loved as a little kid, has been reduced to something so awful as this hell of a show. it's like teen titans go but more morbid.
Jay D I grew up watching the modern spongebob, and after renting the other seasons from the public library, I think those are better. I'll still watch modern spongebob, because I still enjoy that nostalgia, but it just isn't the same.
K'Maya Smith Plus I haven’t seen Spongebob in a long time. Haven’t kept up with the new episodes since One Coarse Meal, and even though I heard that Stephen Hillenburg (RIP) was coming back, I felt like it was too late. When I heard about the STP Lemonade episode, it officially made me stop watching the newer episodes. So even if the newest episodes are better than the ones this video is basing on, they couldn’t be as good as the ones in the first three seasons. Also, the comment I wrote is based on the episodes this video was talking about, not the newest ones. This video probably is outdated but whatever. If people like the newest episodes, then fine, but if they like the ones presented in this video, then that’s no good.
SpongeBob has a large and loyal fanbase. Of course people are going to leave childish comments. Unfortunately, SOME of the old spongebob fans are absolute retards because they will literally spam terrible ideas such as "fire all the new writers" or "bring back hillenburg" (P.S, he works on the show, but as an executive producer. In addition to that, he has ALWAYS been an executive producer, even after the movie... and he also left the show around 2002 to work on the movie.)
Top 11 Good things about Modern Spongebob: 11. More catchy title card jingles (I especially liked the different version of the Drunken Sailor song) 10. Has more dignity than Fairly Oddparents (take a look at Fairly OddParents season 10) 9. Allows a higher chance for pre movie spongebob to show up on reruns 8. Some of the specials (Hello Bikini Bottom, Dunces and Dragons, Have you seen this snail, etc.) are better than some of the pre-movie ones (I mean the Sponge who could fly doesn't feel very special) 7. Plankton is just as likable as he is in Pre-movie Spongebob 6. Even the worst seasons have sputtered out a few good episodes (check out Sand Castles in the Sand) 5. Stephen Hillenburg is back in Season 9 4. Doesn't add in a new main character to every season unlike Fairly OddParents 3. Doesn't try to use a lot of modern stuff like ipads (except in commercials) 2. The Good episodes of Season 5 (most of them feel like they belong to Pre-Movie Spongebob especially the Two Faces of Squidward) 1. Season 4 (It has a lot more good episodes than bad episodes and even the bad episodes of that season are not too bad)
Pearl the rebel Well one good thing about Modern Fairly OddParents is that it allows a higher chance for the Pre-Poof Fairly OddParents to show up in reruns.
Pearl the rebel Chloe. AKA a character who doesn't need Fairy Godparents, has pretty much everything she wants before she even got Fairy Godparents and yet has to share with Timmy's Godparents. Why? I don't know. Jorgen doesn't even explain why she needs Godparents.
Kyle Herold This is the worst video I've seen and the show didn't get worse, 95% of all kids watching this disagree with you, the show actually got funnier, the animation got better, the storyboards got better, nobody at all pays attention to the background characters, etc etc etc... Nobody cares what you think! If you're just hating on the show JUST DON'T WATCH IT!!! It's so simple!!!You don't need to share your hate for the show!!! I hate people who just share their hate to the public for no reason whatsoever. This video shouldn't be on TH-cam, if you keep sharing your hate for things your channel shouldn't be on TH-cam!
I love this video because it basically explains *ALL* the flaws of Spongebob (at least after the return of Hillenburg), plus I think the comments are too negative :|.
The SpongeBob rebirth theory (for those who don't know) goes like this; In the first SpongeBob movie when he gets dried out, he actually died. And when he was brought back to life, he had to start learning all over again as a child. If he didn't die, he at least got severe brain damage. That's why his character ark is rendered meaningless, that's why he doesn't succeed a day as manager, that's why he's much less mature after the movie, etc. It makes sense, even though it's probably not canon. Maybe not rebirth, but severe amnesia and brain damage would explain a lot.
Another thing that bothered me was their obsession with more sound effects like the blinking or the high pitched squeaking that happens every time Spongebob laughs and gets squished a tiny bit. It wouldn't be as annoying if most of modern Spongebob was not filler. But seeing that it is, the sound effects become very noticeable.
George McCartney "pitched squeaking that happens every time Spongebob laughs and gets squished a tiny bit." Happened in Funny Pants. And when did that episode air? Oh... 11 years ago.
+LuigiFan860 That's still a modern episode, some clips of that was even used here in this video when they were talking about SpongeBob's Flanderization.
the episode "Greasy Buffoons" Krabs and Spongebob were taking the grease to a storage place with a pickup truck. The thing is...Spongebob was driving the truck. They literally forgot that Spongebob couldn't drive. it was really disappointing for me cause this show was my childhood.
+Balbys23 Actually, I always thought that Spongebob was in his early 20's or at least 18, because he has a full-time job and even became manager of the Krusty Krab in the first movie- OHHHHHHH NVM YOU MEAN THAT HE SUCKS AT DRIVING OK
It is probably non canon. Most plots that were in the movie already happened in the classic Spongebob episodes. Involving into superheroes, teaching plankton how to be good, saving the secret formula. That all happened in previous Spongebob episodes back in season 1-3.
True. At least the first movie had a tolerable and enjoyable plot. I usually never enjoy movies made after series anyway. Sometimes, TV shows should be left as TV shows and not full-length feature films...
Bandersnatch41 ikr. They made a section of how spongebob has these fillers on the show that are useless, unless they're funny and entertaining (etc): same with these guys, they try too hard
i actually preferred the season 2-3 and the movie animations to the modern animations. the older animations had more depth and was generally more fluid. the modern animation is stiff, boring, spongebob looks wider than he should, and it just looks like amateur drawings animated in flash
Ana 75 Maybe objectively improved, but it’s definitely not nicer to look at anyone can see that. It’s not that it looks modern, the movies look great even though they have a similar style.
This video was really well made, editing and evidence. I was curious to what people had to say when comparing from the classic to modern, and you guys excelled. It makes me sad that bikini bottom is now portrayed a cruel city rather than a helping city. It's interesting how it even ended up like this.
these people have been influenced to hurt others they contributed to a cult that has destroyed many lives all the death threats, doxxing, pointless anger and destruction their rage for something trivial has been passed on like a plague its called influence their fragility has been destroyed what part of that do you not understand?
Cinos the Dense potato Wow, are you serious? Just because you don't like someone doesn't mean you have to insult them like that. And I'm on the autism spectrum as well, and there's nothing wrong with being autistic. I'm so sick of people using autism as an insult. :/
Panzer19 YT I've seriously got to ask: what's the point of critiquing a kids cartoon when you can critique some adults stuff? Does bad SpongeBob really have an effect on society?
If anything I feel bad for Squidward, no one bothers to listen to him and Spongebob and Patrick don't realize that he wants to be alone and Patrick... MY GOD!! I remember when Spongebob got stuck in the ringer (I think that's what it's called" and Patrick makes everything harder for him by putting glue on him, taking him to a park where Spongebob can't do anything and when Spongebob yells at Patrick everyone gets mad at him, the lesson should be for Patrick to realize he is causing more harm then good not oh your friend tried to help you be grateful even if it was not good at all. I used to like Patrick but as you mentioned instead of him being the loveable goofball he's an asshole and a complete moron.
I can imagine that the crew and maybe even a number of the voice actors wanted to leave due to how terrible Spongebob evolved into but didn’t because they knew a large chunk of their income came from this show...
Supposedly, the voice actor's are still contracteully bound to do their lines regardless if they wanted to leave or not. Clancy Brown refused to do his lines for the one course meal episode
overly late, but here’s a plot idea that may or may not be a filler episode. what if something sparks a friendship between plankton and mr krabs again, and they agree to a partnership, but later they recognize their incompatibility to work together, and fight over management of the restaurant? kind of like that krusty bucket episode but they don’t team up just because someone steals the restaurant or formula or whatever, like they take karen’s advice and become partners? its a running gag for plankton vs krabs but like you said, the formula stealing plans and schemes are getting very repetitive and boring.
kids hadnt enough intelligence development to see which is the best and worst season Bring me a 10 years old kids that like old SpongeBob and hate the modern one
Let's remember the biggest thing old Patrick did: He gave Spongebob the confidence to get a job at the Krusty Krab kicking off the series in its first episode.
So what does he do now? Ruin stuff for everyone.
Terry R. True!
W0Y4K
Patrick back then was stupid but at least he had a heart and was willing to do this to help his friends. Now, he’s just dumb to be dumb and never really contributing to anything. It’s honestly sad because Patrick had a lot of potential.
That's his clone who is ruining everything
@W0Y4K Patrick was stupid but he was spongebob's bestfriend and at the end of the day that is what mattered. Now he is just a stupid pos

No
No. Everybody who grew up watching SpongeBob misses the old animation, myself included. 😭
+Mauricio Garcia It's a little ~too~ bubbly and cartoon-y now. I liked the simplicity of the lower-budget animation.
iLearnedItFromThePizzaMan Yeah. And the characters. They just became so ugly, you know.

+Kofi Sarfo I watched every single episode
+Kevin The Agent Yep which is not alot
Basically new spongebob is good when you’re young but you quickly realize its terrible and annoying when you grow up. However, old spongebob is timeless and always enjoyable.
I never liked the newer seasons, even as a kid. They were either the most boring and uneventful episodes of a cartoon I had ever seen or they invoked pure hatred and/or disgust
i only saw the good old episodes and also the very good new ones
I've been debating weather or not to get nick plus on Amazon prime just to watch the older episodes whenever I want
@@georgemccartney8906 yeah, I think they go a bit too far with the facial expressions, it’s kinda distracting and sometimes disgusting.
Spongebob was NEVER EVER great to begin with (WARNING: Never ever watch Spongebob. Watch PaRappa the Rapper's anime instead)
Did that crap Plankton put in the fruitcakes have lasting effects on the townspeople? That's the only explanation I can find for that honestly.
Sorry for the long, rambling comment, just wanted to give my opinion on this
They were still bad before the movie in Bubble Buddy and The Sponge Who Could Fly. It didn't just start after the movie. April 21, 2020, 11:27pm

10: The karate episodes are my favorite with Sandy. I can't think of any from recent years.
9: Some of the detailed animation made a scene more humorous actually but most of the time IMO it's gross. CoughSplinterCough
8: I feel like they recycle the Plankton-Patty plot more than any other and its just bland now.
Jurassic King 10. There's one from season 8, and Karate Star
Jurassic King I agree with you entirely, man.

Power of L Also, that clip they used from American Dad perfectly summarized Spongebob and Squidward's dynamic (in the post movie era) brilliantly.

Why didn't Spongebob just take his arm off in the splinter???? as seen in previous episodes like "Graveyard Shift" and "Secret Box" Spongebob's arm are in fact removable, and grow back!

Spongebob is realistic at times, y'know.
Phantom Wolf Why did he even have blood and puss. HE'S A SPONGE

I just realized that Mermaidman & Barnacle Boy were written to satirize Vietnam War Veterans with PTSD. That's pretty frickin dark.
oh thats true????
It's also said that the main characters are the Seven deadly sins, so there is quite a few dark things/secrets
+Jayus They also represent different types of drugs. For examples, Patrick is a stoner, Mr. Krabs is a cocaine kingpin, and Sandy is an alcoholic.
+Trash sandy is pride, Mr Krabs is greed, Patrick is lust, squidward is jealously
Those are all just fucking theories and you should assume they aren't true
And with all the times she's been arrested because of those, I think it's clear to say thats she's less of a teacher but more of a criminal
Demolition Doofus, anyone?
@Elisa Castro Don't worry mrs puff ill try harder next semester ring any bells to you guys?

It was the best episode of the entire show
Swishy Bros nah it’s the best episode in animation
Swishy Bros an hour not a hour, dipshit
Kats underrated!
Remember when you could see the water effects (that strange shimmer) on the buildings and landscape?

They have obviously watched Spongebob when they were a lot younger .... and remember what it was and meant back then. Most of the original Spongebob audience is now... you guessed it.... their age! Observing the changes that happened to Spongebob really makes you feel bad, and you can actually feel their pain by seeing how a part of their childhood just got ruined. LIKE MOST OF US DO!
Spongebob was NEVER EVER great to begin with (WARNING: Never ever watch Spongebob. Watch PaRappa the Rapper's anime instead)
Let me be the one to say this:
Most, if not ALL.

James McGuinness Oh, makes sense
They don't they just both have deep voices, but the one with glasses has a less southern accent and its a bit higher

It's 44 :p
Secondly, are you really that desperate for argument? This is a youtube video, not a show. There isn't any plot, so technically there is no "filler". But I'll give these people the benefit of the doubt and say instead that they were "wasting time". Uh.....did you watch the video? Most of it they stayed on track and talked about the number. Yeah, it took a while, but you want to know why? Because they actually wanted to make a good video and elaborate on their arguments. Oh, and "jokes" are not an excuse for "filler" unless they go on forever, which none of them do (off the top of my head)
Honestly all this proves to me is how desperate some people can be for an argument and how most people in this comment section have no idea how to provide any fair criticism aside from "her der your joke aren't funny". If you dislike the video, fair enough. You are allowed your opinion. But these arguments are just blanket terms that don't provide any good reason to dislike it.
+TheTrueLuigiFan
1. "Nonetheless, this is still an awful video"
Did I say anything about the quality of the video? The answer is no.
All I did was list counter arguments to the blanket arguments that people cough up.
I enjoyed the video, but since this has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the video and only the people who want to shut these guys up through every means necessary, we can agree to disagree. It's completely irrelevant.
2. "Literally every point they bring up can be countered"
No duh. They are giving their OPINIONS. Everyone has their own opinions, and every opinion ever given forth has another side.
Also, BY YOUR OWN LOGIC, considering I'm countering your arguments, I guess that means all your arguments are awful :p
3. "EVEN THE TITLE OF THE VIDEO CAN BE COUNTERED. When they say modern, obviously they are referencing bad SpongeBob, not the modern SpongeBob."
I agree with this point to an extent. These guys (and the community in general, really) uses the term "modern" as kind of the bad seasons. Everyone has their own definition of "Modern Spongebob". Despite it being pretty nitpicky, I agree with to an extent.
4. "(P.S., I think modern SB is amazing. Now shoot yourself in the head if you are going to attack me for my opinion.)"
Arguably your weakest point.
I'll state it whenever I'd like."
Again, I never said anything about the actual video. It's completely irrelevant.
Also, I never "asked you for your opinion". Your just pulling that out of thin air. All I said is we can agree to disagree.
2. "Yet they are treating every single one of them as a fact. Also, what kind of sh*t logic is that? When have I ever stated that? Context is a thing."
Name 1 place in the video they stated their opinions as facts.
Actually, at the end of the video they even said they wouldn't judge people they don't even know based on the show they liked.
"Also, what kind of sh*t logic is that?"
Your logic apparently :p
You specifically said, "Literally every point they bring up can be countered." So that means if you can counter an argument, it's a bad argument, by your logic.
Also, discussion =/= attacking."
"discussion =/= attacking."
But you know what does equal attacking?
Telling someone to kill themselves. Like you did.
"know the difference, sir Avis. I like your channel man, but where did all of your point even come from???"
I do know the difference.
The top comment literally states something about them saying there isn't much to say."
You could have just skipped to the part where they talk about One Coarse Meal. That's that I did :p
Of course I don't expect you to sit through a 44 minute video you obviously don't like XD
2. "The fact that I took it seriously means I didn't find it funny, at all. Even without the "jokes aside", the KEEM jokes are lame now."
It doesn't matter if you found it funny or not. It was a joke, and not something to be taken seriously.
3. "I think you misunderstood what I said. No, shooting yourself and killing yourself are the same things. I stated that if you're going to state something like "Modern SB is for stupid people" or anything like that, then please die."
"No, not really. I fail to see where I'm being hypocritical because I just explained myself clearly."
BECAUSE YOU SKIPPED A GIANT SECTION OF MY COMMENT. If I agreed with you in that section, then whatever, I wouldn't have cared. We've been doing that the whole time anyways :p
Right after I was done talking about One Coarse Meal, there was an entire section where I basically explained that this whole time your biggest complaint with me is "I wasn't letting you have your opinion" or whatever. Yet you called their opinion "false".
I recommend taking a look at that.
Also, you called me out for making "assumptions", yet you already made one yourself:
"Are you implying one's opinion is irrelevant?
Sick."
"No, not really. I fail to see where I'm being hypocritical because I just explained myself clearly."
All you did was explain how hypocritical you were XD
"I stated that if you're going to state something like "Modern SB is for stupid people" or anything like that, then please die."
Translation: It's not okay for other people to attack me (i.e. attack you for liking modern Spongebob) but it's completely 100% okay for you to attack them (i.e. tell them to kill themselves)
How do you not see the hypocrisy in that? It's literally the same thing.
1. "LOL WHAT?! Where did you get this from?
With or without you stating my statement is irrelevant or not, it still will be my opinion. I'm sorry, but YES, what I have stated is relevant because we are specifically talking about this video. Do you not know what a comments section is for?"
The only reason it's "relevant" is because you brought it up. In my original first comment, I SPECIFICALLY only talked about the comment section. The only thing I said in my comment about the video was, and I quote:
"If you dislike the video, fair enough. You are allowed your opinion."
The rest of my entire first comment was SPECIFICALLY about the comments.
So you clearly have no idea what you're talking about, or you just didn't both reading my original comment. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if it was both.
"They are treating them as facts."
Stop right there.
Again, provide evidence. You can't make a bold statement like that and then not back it up at all.
As I said previously, the specifically said towards the end of the video, "If you dislike this show, fine. It would be unfair for us to judge you based on the show you like" (This isn't quote for quote btw)
You have no evidence for them treating their facts like opinions. They never stated it as facted, and they said it was fine if you like the show.
"There is such thing as a wrong opinion."
Okay, stop.
1. "Yes, but they make it seem like that this is all of what modern SB is despite it being not true."
IN THEIR OPINION, this is what modern Spongebob is.
I really don't understand why you can't just let them have their opinion.
2. "If I call the sky purple, is my opinion right? wrong"
The sky being blue is a fact, not an opinion.
Nowhere in the video have they ever stated that premovie has had flaws too, either that, or they're blinded by nostalgia!"
Even if it is biased (which is just an assumption, and you have no evidence behind it) who cares! It's still an opinion!
I really don't understand why you won't just let them have their opinion.
They never said ANYTHING in this video was fact. They never insulted anyone for liking the show. All they did was give their opinion.
I like the original animation and show

Now since Paul Tibbett became head writer, he managed to destroy the characters in seasons 5-9, but the show was good again when Stephan came back, until he died :(
I really hope this show ends, because it’s been running for too long and it needs a finale. The characters that haven’t been affected by the horrible writers were Pearl, Gary, Larry, and the Flying Dutchman.
What's up with the criticism? I thought this video was great, even its length, it just added to help the video, to explain the problem better.

@@brokenhearth1826 Yeah Sure Mr. Krabs was greedy but he was able to over come it & he cared more about others.

@@nickgadson266 cause it's when the show started to drop in quality, after the 1st movie and before the 2nd
Waluigi In Smash That’s not true at all!
Thanks for reuploading this. You covered so many excellent points and I agree with all of them. I'm actually surprised that none of my friends realise that Spongebob Squarepants has turned into such a horrible and annoying show.
Ikr
A lot of these points are kind of obsolete as of now. This mostly applies to Seasons 6 and 7.
+RafiRaffee oh hey lol
These are so true he makes so many points!!
I definitely felt that scene even as a kid. I hate it so much.
Also the choir episode, Good Neighbors, Black Lemonade, Smooth Jazz At Bikini Bottom, and more
Patrick is worse than Mr.Krabs
I hate them both as much to the point where they are my most hated characters of all time. They are too greedy/sociopathic to take.
Lets just say they're all worse now... Except for squidward who just gets tormented..
Brandyn Lovett same
playerdude2 Plankton and Gary are good too
Brandyn Lovett Patrick was hilarious
i knew there was something about the modern seasons that just rubbed me the wrong way, but i couldn't for the life of me figure it out. you just put your finger on all of the reasons it made me so uncomfortable. so, thanks for helping me with that, i guess. it's really sad that a show as great as spongebob, that i absolutely loved as a little kid, has been reduced to something so awful as this hell of a show. it's like teen titans go but more morbid.
Jay D You just read my mind!!
Jay D
I grew up watching the modern spongebob, and after renting the other seasons from the public library, I think those are better. I'll still watch modern spongebob, because I still enjoy that nostalgia, but it just isn't the same.
the show has become nothing but : shouting, crying, laughing, yelling, whining, and just a bunch of annoying noises.
That’s what I usually notice, just annoying sounds like listening to a toddler playing or something.
Spongebob was NEVER EVER great to begin with (WARNING: Never ever watch Spongebob. Watch PaRappa the Rapper's anime instead)
Sounds like middle school

Spongebob now is good so stfu
Burrito Briefs It’s like what K’Maya Smith said, you and modern Spongebob fans are drama queens.
@@burritobriefs1859 You sound ignorant too.... 🙄🙄🙄🙄
If people like the newest episodes, then fine, but if they like the ones presented in this video, then that’s no good.
plankton disguising as jontron should happen
I could say Jon Tron quotes in Planton's voice so It can happen maybe.
These comments are incredibly childish.
Fr
SpongeBob has a large and loyal fanbase. Of course people are going to leave childish comments. Unfortunately, SOME of the old spongebob fans are absolute retards because they will literally spam terrible ideas such as "fire all the new writers" or "bring back hillenburg" (P.S, he works on the show, but as an executive producer. In addition to that, he has ALWAYS been an executive producer, even after the movie... and he also left the show around 2002 to work on the movie.)
The the irony is, they are talking about how the show is for kids :p
Party Town it's good for the WRONG reasons.
Number 10 is accurate to how female protagonists in Hollywood are written nowadays because they are overpowered and underdeveloped
This genuinely hurts women in fiction.
Lol, this was 8 years ago?! I felt bad that I was liking it less, and now I realize I had a lot of company....
Top 11 Good things about Modern Spongebob:
11. More catchy title card jingles (I especially liked the different version of the Drunken Sailor song)
10. Has more dignity than Fairly Oddparents (take a look at Fairly OddParents season 10)
9. Allows a higher chance for pre movie spongebob to show up on reruns
8. Some of the specials (Hello Bikini Bottom, Dunces and Dragons, Have you seen this snail, etc.) are better than some of the pre-movie ones (I mean the Sponge who could fly doesn't feel very special)
7. Plankton is just as likable as he is in Pre-movie Spongebob
6. Even the worst seasons have sputtered out a few good episodes (check out Sand Castles in the Sand)
5. Stephen Hillenburg is back in Season 9
4. Doesn't add in a new main character to every season unlike Fairly OddParents
3. Doesn't try to use a lot of modern stuff like ipads (except in commercials)
2. The Good episodes of Season 5 (most of them feel like they belong to Pre-Movie Spongebob especially the Two Faces of Squidward)
1. Season 4 (It has a lot more good episodes than bad episodes and even the bad episodes of that season are not too bad)
fair enough
Pearl the rebel
Well one good thing about Modern Fairly OddParents is that it allows a higher chance for the Pre-Poof Fairly OddParents to show up in reruns.
Considering we're on season 9, season 4 doesn't seem very modern.
exept good neighbours
Still one of my favorite videos on TH-cam.
No offense, but if that's the case, then you must have a terrible taste in content. Just my opinion.
TheTrueLuigiFan didn't you tell someone to go kill themselve once in some of the comments,?
TheTrueLuigiFan the reason why you're being called out is because you aren't elaborating. Why do you think Kyle Herold has a bad taste?
Stop begin edgy TheTrueLuigiFan.
Just another Roblox kid.

Dear creators of the New Spongebob,
Why did you turn the show into Mafia III?
Axel Cordova No. They didnt do it. Nickelodeon did.
Mafia III is way newer
Axel Cordova Because Nickelodeon can save a whole nickel, if they cut out the quality.
Entirely.

-C.S. Lewis
Damn fucking straight.
I love this video because it basically explains *ALL* the flaws of Spongebob (at least after the return of Hillenburg), plus I think the comments are too negative :|.
nice to have people like you here
The SpongeBob rebirth theory (for those who don't know) goes like this; In the first SpongeBob movie when he gets dried out, he actually died.
+George McCartney oh look, you're using examples from 6-9 years ago. what excellent backup.
+LuigiFan860 Uh, what exactly do you mean by that? I don't understand what you're saying.
George McCartney
"pitched squeaking that happens every time Spongebob laughs and gets squished a tiny bit."
Happened in Funny Pants. And when did that episode air? Oh... 11 years ago.
+LuigiFan860 That's still a modern episode, some clips of that was even used here in this video when they were talking about SpongeBob's Flanderization.
George McCartney
I don't consider it one. It's really based on your own interpretation.
the episode "Greasy Buffoons" Krabs and Spongebob were taking the grease to a storage place with a pickup truck.
Are you kidding me?! That superhero shit should have been the stuff to be made non-canon.
Sometimes, TV shows should be left as TV shows and not full-length feature films...
wait really? i didnt even notice spongebob was driving the truck in greasy buffoons
You know what dude, this video makes a lot of sense for me And i laugh of you jokes so screw what the other people say,you are awesome

KAUÃ TAVARES ya these jokes are hilarious and intresting
I am glad to know Spongebob has moved on from most of these issues.
in my opinion they should have just skipped the jokes. The points they make are fine it's just they're idea of humor is kinda cringe
Bandersnatch41 humour*
Bandersnatch41 ikr. They made a section of how spongebob has these fillers on the show that are useless, unless they're funny and entertaining (etc): same with these guys, they try too hard
James Richard Jeremy Clarkson-Hammond-May nope... humor
Bullshit I know you laughed at the police report and the fake version of what happens in OCM
Big_Ouchy they meant TRY to be funny and entertaining they did try though modern spongebob doesn't
20:51 That was a pretty bad example because Mr. Krabs was at an event where the attendees were allowed to steal.
I myself think the show had gone downhill since the creator passed away. He will be missed.

i actually preferred the season 2-3 and the movie animations to the modern animations. the older animations had more depth and was generally more fluid. the modern animation is stiff, boring, spongebob looks wider than he should, and it just looks like amateur drawings animated in flash
To me seasons 1-3
@Ana 75 Your opinion
@Ana 75 I respect yours
Well the live action sequences were badly written and the acting was cringeworthy but hey most of he video is good

they contributed to a cult that has destroyed many lives
all the death threats, doxxing, pointless anger and destruction
their rage for something trivial has been passed on like a plague

their fragility has been destroyed

Panzer19 YT I've seriously got to ask: what's the point of critiquing a kids cartoon when you can critique some adults stuff? Does bad SpongeBob really have an effect on society?
Fred Barnes Spongebob is basically the kids equivalent to Simpson’s in popularity. Also, anything can be reviewed.
As collage humor once said the real spongebob is dead
A grade student could replace the writers at this point.
Gaming Palace yep
R.I.P. Stephen Hillenburg
overly late, but here’s a plot idea that may or may not be a filler episode. what if something sparks a friendship between plankton and mr krabs again, and they agree to a partnership, but later they recognize their incompatibility to work together, and fight over management of the restaurant? kind of like that krusty bucket episode but they don’t team up just because someone steals the restaurant or formula or whatever, like they take karen’s advice and become partners? its a running gag for plankton vs krabs but like you said, the formula stealing plans and schemes are getting very repetitive and boring.
