    This was just the info that I was needing! I can see that I'll end up using both just as you have. Morpholio will be a very helpful tool in floor plan concepts and construction administration, love that it can be to scale...but when it comes to renderings for clients and Design Review Boards I can see that I'll need the better brushes and the opacity/transparency/blending of Procreate. Thank you for this!

    Big problem I have with Morpholio is you can't bring in pdf's easily to a project you have to create separate projects for each pdf. Go in and copy that layer, then go back to your project and paste it in. then YOU CAN'T DELETE THE WHITE BACKGROUND OF thePDF! like you can in Procreate. So you can't overlay the perfectly good vector drawings you already have in Morpholio.

    A year later, it seems Morpholio Trace has added most, if not all of your missing features. HSL color, basic pencil/pen customization and the normal blending modes (that I use, but I am an engineer so it met not be enough for designers) etc. Good to see the developer continue to support the tool. $20 per year is cheap in my book. How about Concepts or SketchUp as they are far easier to draw to scale with. I use SketchUp for a fast line drawing layout then send to Morpholio trace. I like the pen thicknesses and scaling in MT a great option. The fact you can import a drawing and scale it.. so elevation drawings in trace are faster. Morpholio Trace for me.

  •  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I'm trying to use both applications. Used Trace for a year and Procreate for a few months. In my opinion, the limits of Trace lie in the impossibility of importing files in multilevel psd format or alternatively adapting the imported image to the table.
    By creating the different floors of a building on a fixed format and maintaining the position, you then have to scale and align manually to have a collimation that will never be precise.
    There is no direct relationship between stencil and scale of representation, we always resort to tricks that generate approximation.
    The quality of the very thin lines is very poor indeed.
    The flaw of Procreate lies in the scarcity of manuals, you have to dedicate a lot of time to self-instruct yourself through intuitions and attempts and in the impossibility of scaling (a defect that can be circumvented with some tricks).
    For the rest it seems to me that Procreate is more precise and with better graphic quality.
    The absence of stencils is overcome by the creation of customized brushes with some shortcomings in understanding how to align brush size and representation scale.

    • @HenryGao
      @HenryGao  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep, those are some of the shortcomings that the Morpholio Trace team is currently working on. You will be excited to see many new features this 2024 Fall.

    Great review! For its Vector Layers, *Clip Studio Paint* might be worth looking at, especially as any line or paint stroke can become a vector path. Also, its feature to erase past intersecting vector lines can be a good way to clean up drawings. In addition, it has perspective grids, watercolor & airbrushes, some of the same things as in Procreate, but all with a lot of features unique to the app. It is made for the iPad Pro, Mac and Windows, as well as Android. Now, *Morpholio Trace* (and especially its Scaling Ruler) is _utterly_ unique!
