During my final MBBS General medicine practical exam the examiner shouted at me as he didn’t like my liver palpation and almost failed me - one request I have for all examiners is don’t make practical exam a very terrifying environment as students are in a lot of stress and especially in a final practical exam , above all there is a lot of subjective variation in some of finer aspects of physical exam techniques even among very senior doctors . I think medical education should also focus on teaching a thinking process how to put all the information into one picture and emphasize that rather than focusing on memorizing book facts . Fortunately at the end things went okay and ironically I’m a gastroenterologist now 😊
Woah, thanks for sharing your experience with us! Had my final yr mbbs medicine practical today and all i can think of is how much physical skills i lack..
The idea of exam in India is to make the individual feel how much poor he is or she is so that they don't start flying but unfortunately this thinking is so wrong. There r sadist examiners everywhere and even colleagues who r sadist which in future will be sadist examiners. Nothing can be done about it. Just let them enjoy for that one day and just leave
The nine regions are smaller than the four abdominopelvic quadrants and include the right hypochondriac, right lumbar, right illiac, epigastric, umbilical, hypogastric (or pubic), left hypochondriac, left lumbar, and left illiac divisions.
Wonderful . It would have been much more informative if the general examination starting from upper limbs -- face -- neck -- chest -- abdomen -- gu - lowerlimbs . Related to abdominal pathology. ? Per rectal examination and importance ? Anyways I'm thoroughly enjoying all the videos .
Definitely will look into it.. but in this video we just concentrated on per abdominal examination. To conclude a gi examination per rectal examination is mandatory..
Please sir tell me where i can find good clinical examination and history taking book in which i can undrstand simply. And please i request you to make lot of videos like this it is more helpfull. Thank you🙏🙏🙏
Yes.. Many of the clinical examination can be easily replaced with multiple imaging modalities .. But for beginners it's mandatory to know the basics of clinic examination that's why we uploaded this video
Usg will cost, what about poor patients. Moreover ull know about sensitivity of ultrasound is not 100%. Will u like if a doctor prescribe u a usg every time u visit? Therefore the examination is necessary, thanks sir for the videos😇
