    I've built my own coop based on your American coop over the pond in Plymouth UK and it's taken an age with all the different components.These coops you build are quality and worth every penny. Congratulations Matt thanks for sharing these videos and you make it look so easy !

    That trim is nicer - more elegant than the trim on my $750000 house. lol. 🤔😳😆😍

    Love your coops, need to start saving for one!
    I have a few questions.
    I noticed that this is not painted but it looks like when some of the trim was removed you have sprayed something on the wood? what is it you spray in it and can it be painted over?
    What wood do you use to build it and is the wood on the bottom different, i hear that wood being directly on the floor can rot quickly?
    Do you have someone here in California who could construct it for me?

      Polmateer we build Coops all the time that go out to California. As for the wood that touches the ground we use all pressure treated lumber so it won’t rot. There was nothing put on the trim when we took it off. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

      Carolina Coops Videos thanks for the reply. The color of the wood is different under the trim you are putting on as if it's been sealed or something. At 0:55. I just wondered if you were sealing the wood before shipping out somehow.

    Great work. How do you build or fabricate the slider windows

    How deep is the deep litter method?

    • @CarolinaCoopsVideos
      @CarolinaCoopsVideos  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Our coops are made with a 12-inch deep henhouse, so the litter in the henhouse can be 12 inches. It continues to break down over the year.

      @@CarolinaCoopsVideos you probably get this question on occasion. Do you have to insulate the walls of a chicken coop? I know that you don't with your coops, but would it help especially in states where it is pretty cold?

    • @CarolinaCoopsVideos
      @CarolinaCoopsVideos  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jameslcoble248 We don't advocate insulating or heating the henhouse because the extreme changes in temperatures is more detrimental to chickens than cold temps. Let nature do its thing and allow the chickens to acclimate to the cold. Having a 30 degree temperature change from the henhouse to the run is not good for chickens. Also, there are many breeds better suited for cold climates. Thanks for watching.

      @@CarolinaCoopsVideos I live in west Tennessee just outside of Paris Tennessee. What breeds would you recommend for around here. I've grown up with Rhode island reds mostly.
