    Hi Matt,
To start, I wanted to say you, and your crew, rock on woodwork and make some fine looking and functional coops!
    I do have two questions.
The first is, doesn't the relief (notch) cuts on the rafters affect the integrity of the wood for load on the roof?
Second is how did you get such awesome notches on your rafters and purlins?
    Thanks!!!

Hi John! Thank you for the compliments and noticing some of our details! The notching in the rafters and purlins do not compromise the integrity because we distribute the weight well among all of the rafters and purlins. We typically walk on the roof, sometimes 2 guys, during roof installation! We also use all premium Douglas Fir lumber, an incredibly strong product. Thats how strong it is. :)

Are the panels 3.5 ft wide on center and then do you cut 1/2 ' off 4' wire cloth? Isn't that a lot of waste?

Phenomenal system! Great attention to detail. Where do you find those 4x8 sheets of hardware cloth?

Kreg's plain zinc pocket screws say "indoor use only". Is there an outdoor version of zinc screw?

Jason Snyder what they mean by indoor use only is they are not meant to be exposed directly to exterior elements. To our surprise when we have tested them by exposing them directly to exterior elements they have shown very little evidence of corrosion if at all. Either we since then we have switched to what are called blue kote screws that’s are meant for direct exterior exposure and with contact with pressure treated lumber.
