Im in DC and have no idea of these "timber" terms but I have the plans and will figure it out. For the record you are ridiculously adorable and intellectual in how you go about build. thanks again.
it’s a nice simple shed extension. handy use of that extra little spot ye have there. nice one. makes me realise that I’ve not been thinking properly about life, and how it works
Another great installment, nice free hand circular saw skills. I'm about to look back at your tiling video and start our downstairs bathroom. Keep up the good work and thanks.
Cracking job Vikkie. You really should use knee pads wish i did when i was your age. Now 60 and a total knee replacement later its no joke.im now waiting for the next one to be done.
Husband walks in !!! Is tea ready love?? Wont be long im just finishing this extension on the shed, then gonna knock us all up a new quilt 😎 my Mrs cant even get the combination padlock off our shed !! 😊👍
Really great video and well explained, what was the stain that you were putting on the wood please? also do you have a rough cost estimate on how much was spent on the wood etc. Thanks. Stay Safe, Barry (Wirral)
I'll check the label tomorrow and get back to you! I suspect it would've been in the £200 region - the same as my DIY bike shed. BUT, wood's gone up about 20% now and it's been difficult sourcing tongue and groove.
Wow Vikkie that looks fantastic, just like yourself 😉, I couldn’t even think of rebuilding my shed, but I was quoted £2,500 to do a new one 😳 But It’s only the roof that’s too low really as I’m only 5’9” and my head hits the roof beams Wish I could have something like your big one at the beginning with the double doors😢 keep up the good work😊
Wow... that's a lot of money! Even the big one didn't cost that much! But... when did you get your quote? Price of wood's gone up around 20% and my Dad keeps saying he can't get hold of tongue and groove. In fact, my next shed video, we really had to rummage for the right timber.
@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK i know tell me about it lol I was quoted 3 days ago and the shed is 15ft by 9ft I share it with a family of field mice I don’t mind they’re cute as long as they stay out of the house 😁
So when it rains the water will just run off the lean-to's roof down to the ground.... either into the neighbours yard (in which they won't be happy over a period of time) or it will flow under your lean-to... which makes it all damp etc inside the lean-to. There is guttering on the main shed (I assume).... why did you not put guttering and downpipe on the edge of the lean-to... to disperse the rain water properly as there is heaps of water that do come off roofs when it rains.??? You could rig it up to a tank beside the fence for watering your gardens etc..
That's what gravel is there for. And there's a gap between the shed and the neighbour's fence. But you could add guttering if you want to. No, the other one doesn't have it either.
Hi Vikkie, another great project for us mere mortal's to learn from ; ) I have a few question's if that is ok. When you are joining the framework together i saw that you used just one screw per spur, would two screw's be better as the spurs were turning as the screw was being tightened or is that a bit overkill? The other question is (as i noticed you were using both drill driver's) which is better Makita or Dewalt. I love my Makita so go easy on me : ) Thanks in advance & all the best.
Thanks :) With these being smaller ripped pieces, my Dad's said in the past 1 is ok because cladding tightens it all up, but you can use 2 if you want to (he's always telling me).
They're Makita and Stanley here. I can't tell any difference, really. But often I'll use my makita impact driver from home, which obviously drives at more force. Dad's is the Stanley and he doesn't work with impact drivers and have never used one of theirs, so couldn't compare. Hope that helps!
@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK Thanks for that, i guess with thinner wood there is more chance of it splitting along the grain if you put too many screw's in it.
@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK Sorry it just looked like a Dewalt, i have just bought a brushless Makita and was torn between this & a dewalt, i was just asking to see if i made the right decision. Thanks for your help.
@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK it's another past time to add, and good for finding nails and hidden pipes in walls, and ground plus it's the best relaxing past time after a hard day's graft. With rewards of cash and gems,

So pleased to see somebody who uses a handsaw and hammer, so many youtubers use skill saws and nail guns, not safe for untrained diy’ers

This is a nice looking little shed. Thanks for sharing it with me.
Any time :)
Looks good and really handy space for bits and bobs 👍👍
It's been very useful separating gardening tools from my workshop ones 😊😊

Great little extra space, and it really suits the existing building. Nice 👍
Thanks! Just need some more land now 😂😂
Great little add-on to the main shed 👍👌 can never have enough storage!
Absolutely and thanks :)
Thanks again, I've learnt loads of great skills from your channel.
👏
That's awesome! Thanks for watching :)
Turned out quite nice good job
Cheers 😊
Hi Vikkie,
Great video. What brand is the roof felt you used? I can't find any with a pattern like that.
Did you clad the sides close to fences before installing them?
Great addition to your workshop ! And very well explained 👍 you gotta love cls 😆💪
Thank you :) Had to point CLS out as had some comments before saying they couldn't understand some lingo 😊
WOW amazing.. looking fo have similar set up but absolutely no clue of how to diy😌🤣😂
Another great job done vikkie 💖
Thanks so much :)
Another good task.well done 👍
Thanks as always :)

Great job your very talented 👍
Aw, thanks! Still really a learning apprentice.... it's muscle memory that I need to work on with sheds using this particular method :)
Good job, it's ok and nice 🥰👍
Cheers :)
The wooden slats not lining up between the shed and the lean to is driving my OCD mad!! Great build though. We’ll done.
Lovely job 👍👍👍👍
Cheers :)
Great video as ever. What wood treatment did you use to paint the shed - like the colour?
Thanks so much! I'll check it and get back to you tomorrow!
This is the wood preserver I used in Mahogany Tan: geni.us/woodprotector (amazon affiliate).
10:15 AWESOME TIP!
Works a charm :)

@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK Thats ok Vikkie £200 is a rough ball park amount so that's ok, what about the stain what was it called?
Will find out and get back to you asap :)
This is the stain I used: geni.us/woodprotector (amazon affiliate), but any colour that says preserver or protector on it, like Ronseal's is good too.

True. Also, they have specific methods... like use thinner screws, then no need to pilot hole when working away from the ends.

Dear me fantastic job your husband is a lucky boy what a woman 👍
😊 thank you
hi Vikki i love your channel but are you really the only person who still uses a hand saw?
Haha... it's easier with a build like this fir the framework 👌
TBH, a hand saw is a lot less ball ache 90% of the time And just as quick at the end of the day.
Setting it up, for sure! And more therapeutic!
Great job, you can never have enough storage...
. . . storage, shelving and clamps.
@1:12 You could never buy a decent pair of duds like that for quids.
Lol... I'm guessing you mean trousers? The store All Saints would charge a fortune for this used/distressed look 😂
fnacy coming to build a shed for me i need workshop hahaha
Lol... unfortunately too busy, but hope the free plans help 😉
a got me husband as the assistant..nise one
Makes a change here 😂😂
Try metal detecting, you might like this.

Couldn’t someone just come along and unscrew the hinges to get into the shed .
Not when you swap some for bolts with washers and locking nuts!
