MAJOR ERROR: This Qasida is not talking about Shaykh Ahmad al-Badawī. The book I got the translation from mistakenly mentions in the footnotes that this refers to Shaykh Ahmad al-Badawī. I have discovered today that it is actually referring to the son of the famed saint, Habīb Saleh of Kenya, whose name was Badawī. When his son was born, Habīb Saleh was reading a book of Shaykh Ahmad al-Badawī and he decided to name his son after him. It also makes more sense considering the second line referring to the Ba’ Alawī, as Habīb Saleh was from the Order.
