  • This video is a tribute to the great Matthew Quigley - May your American Values live in our hearts forever.
    My father-in-law and I drive to a claim for sale in the Boise Basin. It was a great claim, and we found a decent amount for gold for the small amount of work we did. However, I passed on the claim because it was not quite what I was looking for. Great claim nonetheless!
    Yes I am aware of all the claim fraud that goes on in various states, which is why I personally verify every claim I visit on the BLM LR-2000 website. Great tool.
    Once again Roger thanks for your Awesome editing skills.

    Just came across this. Will be doing the exact same thing next week so this was good insight and it lets me know that what I had planned is the right way to go about it. Thanks guys!

    Hey UP. Thanks for sharing. Looks like you guys had a good time!
    I understand about making the claim "family friendly". Both of mine are near very nice camping spots with lots of ATV riding, fishing, berry picking, etc. available. So, my wife and kids like to join up with me. Keep searching bro. and you'll find the perfect claim!

    Sampling is always fun - you just never know if you checked and found the BEST spot. I never am sure if I've done all I can, but sure enjoy the effort. Good video of what you did and how you went about it.

    That blue pan really help the gold stand out. So did what you find even pay for the gas to get there and back? :)

    • @UtahProspector
      @UtahProspector  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya the blue pans are the best. This trip was more about testing the claim and deciding if I wanted to buy it or not, so we didn't process very much dirt which means our gas wasn't covered on this trip.

    you never throw dry dirt into a sluice..no wonder you aint getting anything. Gold is the ultimate hitch hicker and it will hitch hike onto any of that mud your making and wash right out...next time try soaking your pay in water first then sluice it..guaranteed results

      we dont have claims hear in ireland all we do is ask landoweners permission to get to river/stream most people say ok but were not allowed dredge or any kind of machinery only hand tools and sluice and no digging in the banks it pretty strict you can put in for a prospecting licence but only for underground mining but thats for the big corporations/the guys with millions the good thing is ireland is only in the process of being maped for minerls the last couple of years so panning is farly new hobby over hear apart from a small gold rush in 1796 in wicklow and the Ancient celts getting most of the easy gold many many years ago but thats why we are searching now to try and find the bits they couldent get and any new sources hopefuly lol best of luck with your adventure and happy hunting
