I live in Germany since the past 11 years. Knowing German is necessary in Germany as it is necessary to know English or Hindi in India or some Indian local language. You can learn the German language in just about 50 hours (as I did when I arrived) all the way up to very advanced levels like B1 using the Michel Thomas method if you know English. I'm sure there is a lot of useful information in the video but if I can help you any further, please do not hesitate to ask. I like these videos! :)
