It's so hard for makers to let things go, because everything has potential. There just isn't enough time. Watching you go through your fabric makes me realize I need to go through mine.
it's so hard to let go when you love making. We see potential in everything. Just not enough time, or as in my case now in my mid 70's, sometimes not enough energy. Thanks for sharing
Becca, You are a joy. I laughed out loud several times as you shared. I love the joy that was released as you rediscovered some of your fabric. Good idea to practice on not so special to you fabrics. Congrats on your increased viewers...! Much love❤ Kimmie
It’s amazing what crafters how in common. Fabric stash, more wool then I can possible knit up, I have fleece left over (using it for stuffing), I also have a weaving project that is horrific but I can’t part with it. I’m going to make a bag someday,LOL😊 I have started slow stitching and embroidery to give my hands a break,I plan on making a quilt with pieces.❤ love your honest podcast.😊
This has come at just the right time for me. I have a similar,if not larger stash of fabric, fibre and yarn. This afternoon’s plan is to go through my scraps to make lavender bags to go in care bags for the women’s refuge.
Hi Becca, I hope you're OK xx ❣️❣️❣️ Thankyou so much for sharing this video podcast . In my small corner of Lancashire it's felt like Autumn for a few weeks, leaves are either turning or being blown off the trees, in saying that our Fuchsia still has lots of flowers on it. I love your idea of turning dresses into skirts. Your fabrics that you're gifting, someone I'm sure will love them. I love your Fabric Designs, they're quite lovely. Thankyou for letting me tag along with you and Millie on your beautiful walk.❄️❄️ I hope you have a Wonderful Creative Week, Fibre Friend 🎉🎉🌟✨️🐑🥰 Take care and stay safe Lots of love, Blessings and Big Hugs Jen xxxx ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🐕🫂

Hello! So glad your channel was a recommend ❤. I am now subscribed and thoroughly enjoy your videos. I am a spinner (have the same Ashford), knitter and recently obsessed with sewing and quilting. Best wishes from South Carolina in the States. ❤
Visiting you from Poulsbo, WA. USA.🙋♀️I enjoyed seeing the printed fabric top kit in your previous video. So sorry you changed your mind about it, but glad to know the outcome
Hi Becca, I follow K3n Cloth tales and Marions world too which I also love as well as The Last homely house. Now that I am semi retired I have the time to spend in my sewing room over the years I have had only little spaces for my sewing but now I actually have a spare room ( I am also sorting through my sewing stuff as well). I am an emty nester but I dont really like that saying is there another way to put it ? Anyway really enjoyed your video and what you are doing. Oh and I really also enjoy slow stitching too. Thank You for sharing.
I thought for a minute u were gonna keep all the fabric. Made me laugh! Glad you have many projects and materials to have fun with . Looking forward to the fiber video. I am sure you will keep it all 😊
I have a room, and a loft, stuffed full and I must start the ‘death cleaning’ (as the Swedish people call the process of clearing up a bit before we snuff it and leave it all behind for someone else to throw into a skip!) I know when I start that I’ll be even less successful than you at letting stuff go……and as I’m already mid-seventies I’ve got less time and much less energy for the job!!! So I sigh and the good intentions fly out of the window!
Oh Linda I can relate . I had to let go of so much when we downsized to move here . I seemed to have started to hold on to things again so need to be strict with what I keep. 🧶🙏🧵
@@bybeccalewis: Mum used to unpick the garment and then iron the pieces as straight as she could, so that she could get the pattern that way. The downside is that the beloved garment dies in the process - so it needs to be close to unusable by the time you do this.
Hi from Australia yes it’s spring today is overcast and raining in Melbourne so a good day for sewing yes we do get a stash of craft things hope you get yours sorted good luck Margaret
Oh-oh, please don't spend your valuable time, energy and space for things that you will never wear. Or that someone else will never wear or use. When I feel obliged to use or alter something, just because the material is before me, but it is not really to my taste, it sucks all the joy and energy out of me.
This is such a good point I really am using the pieces for practice and I didn't want to make a mess of really expensive fabric. However I think I am going to turn it into something else. Which is also good practice. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment 🙏🧶🧵
Just found your channel. I love the chat and seeing your process. You remind me of Kate LHH. And I I have just started watching K3N (?) I put TH-cam on while I sew. It isclike having a stitching friend in the room. Makes being in our basement better.

I think makers are the same the world over. Thank you so much for saying hi 👋🧶🧵

I will find it much harder to part with the fiber than the fabric. Thank you for leaving a comment 🙏🧶🧵

Cloning loved items is something that I’m hoping to learn…
I have cloned a favorite shoulder bag design so I am hoping the process will be similar 🤞

I have the infamous terry scrap quilt Ala kate going at the moment..I plan to use all my scraps one way or another lol
Sounds great to me . Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment 🌀🧶🧵🙏
I’d be tempted to use your designed pieces to make a patchwork curtain for the sun room…
They are quilting weight so it would be a good option as I don't want heavy curtains. Thank you for the idea 💡
I love when someone like minded gives me channels to watch..only to find I'm already subbed lol
Oh for sure 🤣👋
