There aren't very many books I can point to and say that they're an illustration course in a book. Creative Illustration is definitely one of those books.
This week I take about this wonderful book. How it was out of print for many years and why you should take advantage of the fact that it's back in print now.

Question: is this book beginner friendly? 😊

No, it assumes you have some level of drawing skill.

Andrew Loomis goes really deep on methods that can be super overwelming for beginners.

      Try Framed Ink for beginners.

Whats your thoughts on Loomis' other books?
I would love to you do more reviews, even if you have better books to recommend instead.

That's a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion Richard. I own pretty much all of his books and like them all. So yeah, I can do reviews on them.

@@LuisEscobar awesome. Also whens lvl 2 on your site coming out? Do I need to be a Patreon?

Ah okay, level 2... no, you don't need to be on Patreon. Level 2 has become a bit tricky because when I first started my website, level 2 type information wasn't as easily available as it is now. For example, if you go to Proko's youtube channel, you'll get a ton of level 2 info, done better than I could ever do it.
Also, there's a ton of books on the subject that I use all the time. So I'm not sure what I can add that I don't get from my recommended books.
My task now is to figure out what I can add to the wealth of information. If anything, I may actually create an exhaustive compilation of links of the best info I can get on the subject with commentary, but we'll see. As you can see, I'm still trying to figure this out.

@@LuisEscobar I like your plan of commentary and linking to other resources to fill in the gaps. Your explanations, especially in your videos, is where the value lies.
