Trott and Ross could have a proper tent and food and a stove (like the camera operators on Man vs Wild), and they can film Smith trying to make a fire and cook his rations, find a shelter and water - all that fun stuff! And you can scare him at night. It could be so amazing.

Us boot camp or basic training depends on the military occupation and branch. I don't think any are less than 9 weeks though.
