I have the 6.5" Memphis Shades windscreen on my 2019 FLHXS. Great height/protection ratio. I wear a half helmet and like to enjoy a cigar sometimes while I ride, so a taller-than-stock windshield was a necessity! The 6.5" keeps the wind up and off my face, and looks good too. I got the same tint as you, and it looks good with the Billiard Blue paint and blacked-out parts on the Special.
How tall are you ? I just got that one and am going to try it out tomorrow. I’m only 5’5” so I’m hoping it works for me too! Love the look, hoping the functionality is the same
After watching your video on your seat, I bought the same seat. At first, I was having second thoughts about it, But after breaking the seat in, I love it. So now I'm going with the Memphis windshield as well. Thanks for the videos for very tall riders
so, based on this vid, i bought the 4.5 inch (ghost). i was very skeptical, but i am absolutely STUNNED how that curved windshield throws wind higher than my stock electra glide windshield. interestingly enough, the faster you go, the higher over your head, the wind gets thrown. the top 1/3 of the shield from curve up, is optically correct (no distortion). the lower 2/3 is distorted, but it is so low, you look wayyyy over. (i am 5 foot 9 with a half helmet, and the wind is thrown several inches OVER my head) it takes a hot minute to get used to the very low windshield. also.. it is significantly thicker than stock, so dont stress if it feels like the screws didnt catch as easy. take your time, and it DOES secure. ps. TT should get a commission from the amount of things i have bought on his recommendation lol ~2020 electra glide standard
Excellent. I came in here to find out exactly you you just said. I'm 5'9" and wear a half or a 3/4 helmet and was wondering if the 4.5 would work. I have a 8.5 Klockwerks and it's a little too high for my liking and it throws the wind right around your ears making the radio harder to hear. Thanks.
This video helped me to decide on the 4.5. I’m on the shorter side. (5’7”) and traveling tall is well a lot taller so i thought it would be perfect. Ordered it thru my dealer it arrived a month later slapped it on in the parking lot rode toward home on the freeway. Had all the buffeting for me and my wife it was horrible. (Worse than the stock shield on the bike) So I went back to the dealer tried out a bunch of demo ones and ended up getting the 6.5 Memphis shades now I have no buffeting and she’s comfortable back there too.
I added the 6.5 to my street glide. But I still get buffeting on the freeway. But it is hugely more protective below 65 mph. And I dont get any bug splatter on my helmet anymore. Gonna try a taller windscreen for long distance freeway.
It's my first aftermarket windshield and I have to say I'm impressed by how well it works. It looks good and it's made in the USA right here in my home state of Tennessee. Thanks for watching!
I just bought my first touring harley two days ago. 2013 street glide and already love it. 17k miles, stage 1 upgrades including full exhaust, intake, plug wires and tune. Bike goes great. Excited to start making it my own a little more, even though its hard to be original with a streetglide anymore lol. Not sure the height or brand on my windscreen but its tinted and short, less square than whats shown here,, has more flare and shape to it, looks just right and wind deflection is good. Im 5'10" tall. Stock seat and bars. But will go with a 12" bar soon.
I went with Freedom because on my 2020 Roadglide cvo I wanted to stay stock but I have a passenger to think about that windshield on your bike is a nice upgrade
I have a 3inch on my 2014 street an I love it an yeah I saw the surprise more power to you brother enjoy I thought maybe you were high lol but I am a fan for life god bless brother
Thank you for the video and recommendation, I just ordered the 4.5 in smoke for my 2020 Street Glide CVO, will report back thoughts after I install. Keep the videos and suggestions coming, very helpful!
I just purchased 2 windshields first one showed up with logo, model, lot#, DOT#, hot iron branded / melted into the windshield in plain view...I am not good with that, sent email to sales for replacement or refund..48 hrs still waiting for response...No other company does this why does Memphis Shades do it...does anyone else have this melted brand? *** Just talked to customer service, said its the Law but only on the "Spoiler models" not any of the others plus no other makers have to do that....I WAS LIED TO. BUYER BEWARE. I made my decision based on this video. Memphis Shades was not honest with me or helpful to get me into what was advertised lady kept interrupting and did not want to answer my questions... Two of my friends have these windshields and they don't have this crap melted in them...Tremendous disappointment to say the least👎👎👎👎👎👎
Wondering when you were going to switch out. The stock is awful compared to what is available. Just like the exhaust, they put something cheap and adequate because they know most folks will switch it out after purchase.
Well, i think the real experience comes with a jet helmet or something more "open". I don't think there is so much difference between the windshields with a closed helmet. In higher speed maybe. I am in love with my klock werks hardware. i would never ever choose something else. Nice greez from Austria. 🇦🇹💪🏼
Time to pull out that Indian bro. I’m curious to see how you feel. It’s a nice bike but I hate the look of the inner fairing. Doesn’t look complete and just doesn’t make me excited when I see it. Good bike though. Lots to love about it.
Memphis Shades look absolutely fantastic! Off topic. Can’t wait to til you ride that Indian Challenger. And you know we all know it can only be the Challenger. Comparing with what you know about your spicy 124 , will be interesting to see if it will measure up. Good job here Tall.
Nice video homie, I was going to order a klock werks, yesterday but know you have me thinking about this one, I'll be picking one tomorrow and ordering one, the Memphis shades looks good so far..👍😎
I like switching my windshield up depending on the kind of ride I am going on. I have a stock and a Klockwerks 6.5’in ....been thinking about buying a 3rd b/t 3’in and 4.5’in. Will consider MemphisShades. Thanks for the recommendation Tall.
Informative as usual, thanks, Tall! Thinking the 4.5" will look great on my '18 FLHTK. Congrats on being contacted by Indian! Just shows how popular your channel is becoming! My background with HD goes back to 1970, but from all reports, Indian is making a great bike too. Look forward to your thoughts.. .
I just got my windshield in and installed. There is a gap between the middle and side bolts. The plastic doesn’t fit tight against the windshield along the whole surface. Is this normal?
I'm struggling to get the right configuration. I'm 6ft tall, and I had ordered the 9" Memphis shades visor. Great visor, but the thickness of that made it extremely difficult to get my fairing pouches installed as well. The visor is great, but too high for my liking as far as aesthetics and visibility. I have shifted to the Klockwerks 6.5" (on order) because it's apparently thinner. I'd rather have the Memphis 6.5", but I really can't part with my fairing pouches. Anyone else have tips on having the best of both worlds? I have a 2013 Street Glide. Thanks in advance!
May I ask your thoughts on the Electra glide ultra your dad has? Why didn’t you buy that bike vice the street glide? Just curious to know as I am comparing these machines now..
Sorry Tall but I'm going to have to agree to disagree on this one. I think the 3" looks horrible. Little to no functionality and just ugly. The 4.5" looks way better. When you catch your first rock in the face at 75mph you'll regret having gone with a shorter windshield. I'm sure you've gotta be getting some significant head buffeting too.
@TravelingTall, when you installed yours did you have issues with the outer and inner fairing being gapped? Where it’s so thick, it’s making my fairing not fit back together right.
What type of seat would you recommend for road trip (it’s only a total of 9 hours there and back)? Or should the stick seat (2020 Street Glide) suffice?

The tallest dude with the shortest windshield.
Memphis shades does an excellent job on their products. Excellent company working with excellent youtubers.

Things that make you go hmmm... They both look great! Decisions, decisions. Ride safe Tall!
Memphis shades makes quality stuff ! Nice addition ! Thx for the ride Tall !

I love my Memphis Shade. On Harley-Davidson #1 bike the Road Glide Ultra.😊

Just re-watched this vid and pulled the trigger on an order. Thx Tall!
That’s the windshield I put on my 16 StreetGlide Special the day I bought it new, still on it 4 years later.
Very cool video, alot of good info being shared and I appreciate you making, and sharing ur videos and time.🙏
I had a 4” windvest on my 07 street glide It was great now I have a 9” windvest
on my Road Glide Special,
Loving the look of the 3"!
I really like that low-profile look. I have a Freedom Shield on my SG.
Love my Memphis Shades on my Ultra Limited, got the 4.5 ghost looks awesome. Good wind protection

A Knoxville based TH-camr. Cool, we're practically neighbors.
Good review Tall. I'd be really interested to see how that compares to the Klockwerks range?
I like how those screens look the flip is nice.
Agree the 3 inch looks the best.
I have a 3inch on my 2014 street an I love it an yeah I saw the surprise more power to you brother enjoy I thought maybe you were high lol but I am a fan for life god bless brother
I have the 10” hd one and it works great. I can hear the radio really well. I k ow it’s taller but it works great

I ordered the 4.5 I’m 5’8” do you feel it’s tall enough for wind? Do you like it ? How tall are you? Thanks man
Any feedback would be great! How tall are you how did the 4.5 work?
@@johnstark5780 any feedback?

Love that Knoxville got a shout out. Nice sled man. If your out and about in Knoxville again holler at us we love to ride with you.
Great timing Tall. I’m getting ready to order one for my Road King in the next couple weeks. Lol. Thanks man. 😋👍

Looks good Tall,Art from Reno NV 😎
That's truly surprising brother that your new windshield would deflect more wind than the stock one.
Memphis Shades look absolutely fantastic! Off topic. Can’t wait to til you ride that Indian Challenger. And you know we all know it can only be the Challenger. Comparing with what you know about your spicy 124 , will be interesting to see if it will measure up. Good job here Tall.

Love the videos. Looking for a shield for my 2014 Street Glide Special. Big help!
Good looking windshield
Love your channel Bro ! What style bars are those ?

Hey! Where can I buy your coolflow fan that you have on your bike? Please help me cause I can't find it. Thanks
Is it thicK? Does it leave gap at top of fairing ? Like freedom shield
Hey, what’s up with those mirrors?!? How are they mounted? I like the looks, can you send me some info? Ride safe. Thx.,G.
Thanks for the video, I love it. But I have a question, how come your camara it does not vibrate on your bike??? Thanks
Does it leave a gap in the fairing seal because of the windshield thickness??
What do you use to lower your mirrors?
I'm struggling to get the right configuration. I'm 6ft tall, and I had ordered the 9" Memphis shades visor. which one would be better Memphis Shades or Klock Weeks?
What are you using as a GoPro mount on your handlebar?
good vid. great info
Hey how tall you are ? Maybe a 3“ Memphis schade is for me More than enough. Thx
Where did you get those mirror please.
May I ask your thoughts on the Electra glide ultra your dad has? Why didn’t you buy that bike vice the street glide? Just curious to know as I am comparing these machines now..
Have you had a flared klockwerks windscreen? I wonder which is better.
Could agree more, the whole point of a windshield is for protection at least in my opinion!
Love your bike. Is that 3” on video thumbnail?
Looks nice !
@TravelingTall, when you installed yours did you have issues with the outer and inner fairing being gapped? Where it’s so thick, it’s making my fairing not fit back together right.
Yeah, was wondering about that. If the Memphis Shades is thicker, it seems like the fairing will not come together. I wish TT would reply.
It’s a big gap on mine. Going to go with klockwerks I suppose, unless Tall has some insight.
Looks good...
What was the tint you chose Exactly,,,,,,can you see through it a little or is it totally black???
You still running those megaphones exhaust?
can you attach a windshield bag to the 3" ?
What type of seat would you recommend for road trip (it’s only a total of 9 hours there and back)? Or should the stick seat (2020 Street Glide) suffice?
Great video!
Nice windshield.
What bars are those?
So confused
The area you said you're feeling the air is the exact location you find wind buffeting
Memphis shade vs knock worth
Where's the new Indian?
