The whole SERIES is built around these loons being self-centered. This just puts the icing on the cake. As Seinfeld say, he finds it disturbing when people say his show's characters remind them of their friends!

It's a strange thing about sitcoms that the characters virtually never take off their shoes when they're in a house/apartment. I don't think it mirrors real life. Even my white friends take off their shoes.
My gf had that same fear, that we are to different. I said it's a good thing, different strengths and weaknesses, we broaden each others horizons with are different likes and dislikes. But fundamentally we have the same core values which I think is the most important thing and we communicate well. People get to caught up in interests being similar.
