    Well done, that was amazing. Definitely an "A" grade project in engineering class there. Maybe one of these days I can see it in action. I'm going to do a recirculating sluice video myself here in the next few weeks. Mine is the lazy mans way that uses much more water. I'm planning to add a little flocculant at the end of the day, let the whole thing settle overnight then reclaim the clear water and dump the sludge. I'm hoping that with overnight settling I'll be able to reclaim about half the water in the system. Its not as heavy in clay as the stuff you are working. But I tried dry washing and because its fines and flat pieces,my tests show I got about 1/3 of the gold by dry washing - and even so I was getting a good 2 to 3 grams per yard. Hoping I'll get 80 to 90 % with sluicing.

    • @allansgoldmining
      @allansgoldmining  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Chris ! Thank you for the kind compliments ! Glad you enjoyed the video. Perhaps you can apply the sand filter idea to extend the life of the water in your sluice operation ? Good idea to allow water to settle overnight. I do the same. Sometimes I muck out the sludge the evening before, so when you return the next day, there's a bit more clear water to recover. If you're finding 2-3 grams with a dry washer, can only imagine what you'll find with a sluice !! I'm jealous. Wish I had that kind of ground down here. LOL ! Definitely, looking forward to that video ! Best of luck to you my friend !

      i've been using the keene flocculant in my recirculation system, that runs into a 5 gallon bucket from the sluice and the results are amazing. you can actually see that 4-5" from the bucket over flow that the flocculant is working. it has greatly increase my ability to process more dirt in a day! and yes Allen, i really like your innovation!

      ~ Allan, Keene advertises that their 'dustless' model series 160, 190, and commercial 210 'dry washers' have recovery as good as wet sluicing. Have you ever heard about the performance 'or' personally tried Keene's 160 or 190 series dry washers.??

    just got in Allan ...love the new gadget ..... great idea ....would have never thought of using sand to act as a filter .....do you need a Nugget trap on the end of the shaker deck 👍 really like how you got the vibratory rate to walk the clay out ....you really need to Patent this and make them bigger ....very impressive ..... beautiful Nuggie you got there and nice pan of that Shiney and we Smashed that Like button and hit the Bell icon so we don't miss any vids ....keep'em coming sonny Jim

      Thanks for stopping in Jeff, and much appreciate the kind compliments ! Them nuggies always makes me smile ! Amazing how that sand reduced the gunk in the water. Doubles the usage ! Wish I could patent the dewater deck, but already done by the Oil & Coal industry back in 1980's. Dewatering Manufacturers keep this machine's function a guarded secret, even today ! Plenty of videos, but no data. Took many months of trial and error to decode how this contraption works. Pain in the butt ! Was the hardest thing I've ever made, however, a huge learning experience. Now I'm smiling. LOL !!! Thanks for smashing that "LIKE" button, Brother !! We'll be making more vids soon :)

    Allan, nicely done! You have really addressed one of the most difficult challenges of desert sluicing, and that's water conservation. Having to haul every drop to your site means that every drop is precious. As you suggested, it looks like a good rig to be trailer mounted.

    • @allansgoldmining

    Love the Unit Allan...Great job... I noticed a few things that might help your percetages.The Shaker Deck on the top is nice but your Sand Trommel would be more efficient for what you are doing. The rocks coming off the top are still covered in mud so you are loosing gold for sure. The Trommel would allow you to use higher pressure for the spray bar and keep the water from flying away and loosing it to the dessert. The other option 2 quick fixxes are to put a speed controller or adjust the angle up at the back. This would allow you to controll the spead of the material going under you wash bars. Food for thought... lol... NICE WORK

    • @allansgoldmining
      @allansgoldmining  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comments Bill. Please view my subsequent videos demonstrating the rocks are completely washed. I'm not sure what you're referring as a "Sand Trommel" ? I have many trommel videos published in the past, including a three part series on how to build one. In terms of manufacturing a viable portable wash plant for the weekend prospector, a shaker deck system is more ergonomically practical, and economical to produce. Hope to have a trailer mounted commercial prototype out this fall. Stay tuned ! Best of luck to you prospecting! 🤠⛏⚒👍

    Love the new setup, looks like it's working better than ever. For doing your cleanups I recommend one of those flouting magnets for quickly and easily removing all your magnetics. What you said about putting the whole washplant on a trailer sounds like a great idea. Great video as always, can't wait for the next one. :D

    • @allansgoldmining
      @allansgoldmining  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank for watching Luke ! Appreciate the comments and compliments ! The sluice mat I use does a good job of removing a good amount of black sand from riffles. I use a "Spin-it-Off" to remove additional magnetics from the cons. Unfortunately, about a third of it is non-magnetic. So, I still get quite a bit in the pan. That's okay. I use a Blue Bowl for final clean up. Does an excellent job tackling the remaining black sand. Best of luck to you !

    Excellent water consumption ratio Gallons per yard. Desert miners have to be the most ingenious miners because we have the added complicated problem of recycling water And oftentimes transporting water a great distance Making every drop count a lot more than you're say Alaskan miners where every time they dig a hole it fills up with water

  • @nomerc3608
    @nomerc3608 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Allen, I just found your channel. I use to mine gold out of the creeks and rivers here in NC&SC. The loss of my youngest son and an operation that damaged my left hit caused me to have to give it up.
    On the 200 meshed; you should really check the material coming off of it as well as the mud that is caught in the other tubs!
    If you were to add a cone shaped top to the buckets most of the fine gold would stay in the buckets as the water over flowed the tops of the cones. I would fix it so the buckets are also vibrating like crazy to make the gold drop into the bottom of the buckets. I would raise the exit holes and add a cover over them inside the buckets and add a screen but if you make a funnel like screen then your super fine gold will stay in the middle of the buckets as the water makes its way to the holes. It is a proven fact that gold drops very fast straight down when given the opportunity!
    I would save all of that mud and run it on a shaker table if possible. There were a lot of plans to get bigger into the dredging but my youngest son had to have a motorcycle and he was hit buy someone and killed in 2016. That stopped everything! It has changed our lives forever!
    Hope I have sparked some thoughts about your set up?
    Stay safe and please keep the videos coming!

    The battle to have cleaner water here in the desert is real. If I was running ac I'd just probably throw my hands up and go bigger dry washer. Sure water is nice but yardage per cost is murder. Still fun little setup and seeing that mud filtered out is gratifying.

    • @allansgoldmining
      @allansgoldmining  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi William. I love dry washing too ! It's one of the best (and cheapest) way to test ground. However, once I find something I like, I prefer to maximize my recovery with the wash plant. If I'm going for the gold, I want all of it, not 50-60% yield from a dry washer. The another advantage is I can mine all year, as long as the water doesn't freeze. The wash plant is actually more cost effective from an operational standpoint. Cost me $6.00/ day for fuel and water. If I'm recovering 95-98% on good ground, it will easily pay for it. Sure, there's a lot more equipment involved. However, my goal is to build a trailer mounted version, thus making it almost as simple to set up as a dry washer. It's a challenge, but I think I can make it happen. Thanks for your kind compliments. Best of luck to you prospecting !!!

      @@allansgoldmining Yeah not going to lie I hate the thought of leaving fines behind. I'd love to find a remote water source that no one's knows about. That would make the dream drift setup. I always wanted to try a cyanide setup but you can amagine the safety and environmental headaches.

    Sir, just saw your Innovations 2021 , this is a question more than questioning your methods. Why would you run the silt through your sluice without the riffles or atleast moss ? Wouldn’t it be careless of you missing any fines going out with the silt ? Thanks for your time !

    • @allansgoldmining
      @allansgoldmining  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @allansgoldmining
      @allansgoldmining  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Shaun. I don't have plans available for public. Perhaps in the future, once the patents and Trademark are completed. The wash plant dewatering deck is the most difficult unit to create. It appears simple, however, it's the invisible physics going on that makes it work. It took about 6 months out of my life to figure the secrets, because there is no data on how to build it, even though large oil and coal industries use them all the time. In a weird way, it seems as though the keep the data a secret. You can watch a multitude TH-cam videos of these in action, but no info on how it works. Ugh !! With that said, I'm not quite ready to "let the cat out of the bag" just yet, after spending a huge amount of time and $$$ figuring it out. 😊👍

    Wow Allen, what a great project and evolution of your desert wash plants. Love it! I've seen those vibrators for sale and you said 90 Watts 3600 rpm. The ones I've seen don't plug right in and some are sold with a speed controller. Did you need to wire yours to plug and do you regulate the speed or is that done like you said by adjusting the weights as needed. Your ability and experience is AMAZING, thank you!

      Thanks for your compliments Aaron !! Yes, these vibrator motors come with a variety of attachments. However, I use none of them. Best to plug it in and run full power. AC is best, and more durable and adjustable. It's the physics going on that you can't see that makes this dewatering deck work. Info on how to build one is virtually non-existent. The Big Boys keep it a guarded secret. It took me many months, of trial and error (mostly error), and $$$ to figure it out. It's huge pain in the a$$ to make it work right. There's a principle called Energy Balance Mechanism. Once you understand it, makes all the difference ! The new one I'm designing will be even better ! Thanks for watching !

    So at the end of your run you dirtied up your remaining water to clean the rocks - and then start with clean water the next day?

    • @allansgoldmining
      @allansgoldmining  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question James. I use the existing dirty water to clean the sand. Virtually all the suspended particles will fall through the deck screen (because it did on the first pass). The vibration strips the sand of most moisture. The suspended particles settle in a couple hours, so I muck out the tubs. The next day I need only to replenish a small amount of water, while recycling the existing water. The freshly cleaned sand will filter whatever particles become re-suspended. Thus saving a good amount of water.

    Allan, Keene advertises that their 'dustless' model series 160, 190, and commercial 210 'dry washers' have recovery as good as wet sluicing. Have you ever heard about the performance 'or' personally tried Keene's 160 or 190 series dry washers.??

    • @allansgoldmining
      @allansgoldmining  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Roy. I have seen their units in action, however, the physics remain the same. Recovery remains 70% at best. Furthermore, like all dry washers, are limited to seasonality and moisture content. With a wash plant this is no concern. Furthermore, a wash plant can wash all rocks, and break up clay clots containing gold (such as on my claims). That can't be said regarding dry washers. Therefore, a wash plant remains far more efficient. Thanks for watching !

    Allan, Thank you for mentioning that you copied from the oil industry, Also another suggestion is make the exit end adjustable, due to the fact that when the finer screens run dry they tend to break up and they become very expensive, also adding what we call a "Possum belly" at the head would be beneficial at increasing the life of the screen.

    • @allansgoldmining
      @allansgoldmining  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Nugget. You seem to know much about this type of equipment. I spent many months researching and testing (and lots of failure). The companies keep their technology a secret, so most of my education came from watching videos. Finally found a research paper by the Chinese that helped a lot ! Yes, the deck is adjustable. Had the end tipped up 2 degrees. Also had a weir bar on the end, but the gooey clay began to accumulate too much, blocking parts of the screen, so I removed it, and works much better. So, what is a "Possum Belly ?" Is that something that softens the slurry landing on the deck ? My slurry lands on a slick plate, so it gently flows onto the screen. Thanks so much for your inputs !

    Seems like it would be easier and much less weight to haul around, to configure SCREENS!! I mean have one large container and use finer and finer screens. This is what they do in Seattle to reclaim concrete water. They classify the rock sand, then the concrete in the water goes through a series of screens of finer and finer mesh. They get relatively clean water to reuse then they scrape the wet concrete (or what they call cake) off the screens for reuse.

    • @allansgoldmining
      @allansgoldmining  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your comments. Obviously, you haven't seen my previous videos where I utilize "SCREENS" Concrete water reclamation requires massive screens, impractical for the weekend prospector. Sand is far more efficient, requires less maintenance. The level of natural clay on my claim would require constant screen cleaning in order to keep things flowing. Thus removing valuable time for the operator to process material. Keep in mind that my plant holds 35 gallons of water and pump rate of 2,000 gallons/hr. Therefore, the water cycles through the system almost every minute and 10 seconds. The purpose of the dewatering deck is to remove as much solids as possible. Without it, the tubs would be clogged of gooey clay within 30 minutes. No screen system can handle that, especially for the weekend prospector.

      Hi Tim. Sounds like the same I was experiencing, which led me down the current path. The dewatering shaker deck, along with a sand filtration system would be perfect for your system. However, to DIY build of a linear transfer dewatering deck is complicated, so I recommend building a dewatering trommel with a 60 mesh screen instead. Coupled with sand filter system you could extend the water by almost 100%, and have better fine gold recovery. A lot of panels, batteries, and inverter to haul around, not to mention the wash plant necessities. Mining at night or forested areas might be a challenge too. Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated !

    How many cubic yards can you run before you have to clean out the sluice?

    • @allansgoldmining
      @allansgoldmining  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. As a general rule, I do a clean out every yard. By then the filters get loaded and need cleaning because of the excessive clay out here, and I'm pretty much pooped out by then. Lol !

      Hi Mark, some day I will. As soon as the patent process is completed for the new trailer mounted wash plant. Even though large commercial operators use these decks, there is no data on how to build one, not to mention the complex physics behind it. Apparently, its a kept secret. Lots of videos of them in action, but no science. It took over 6 months of experimentation and trials before I figured it out. I build airplanes and telescopes, and that little dewatering deck was the most challenging thing I ever built.. Ugh !! Not willing to share my hard earn $$$ and knowledge just yet, but soon. 👍👍👍

    I still like the trommel over the shaker deck. Due to the really clayly ground at my clams

    • @allansgoldmining
      @allansgoldmining  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the trommel is slightly better, however, much slower. That's why they are 3 times larger than a shaker deck running same volume. The studs on my deck help mitigate the hard clay clumps. They are most difficult when dry, but crumble instantly when damp. Sounds like you have the same gunk I'm dealing with !

    I still can't come to grips with why your fine mesh doesn't clog up.
    When I use a circular hand classifier at smaller than say 20 mesh , I need to turn the classifier upside down and tap it ready for the next load of material.
    Also , do you not have issues with grass and decaying matter clogging up the works anywhere along the line ?

    • @allansgoldmining
      @allansgoldmining  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your questions Mohammad. That's the key to the intense vibration of the deck. It causes solids and fluids to dance on the screen surface. Eventually water drops through the deck while the sand dances off the end. The deck pulse frequency is 60/sec. Vegetation dances off the screen deck as well. This eliminates sprayers from clogging when water is re-pumped up to the upper shaker deck.

      @@allansgoldmining Does your screen shake in all 3 dimensions or only up and down ?
      Or maybe up and down and left to right
      I am thinking about getting my backpackable system improved , but cannot utilize the sand filter - what am gonna try next is a punch plate screen wrapped in womens stocking.
      Is to stop grass getting into my bilge pump

    • @allansgoldmining
      @allansgoldmining  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mohammednovalija the stockings sounds like a good idea ! Especially for a backpack system. That should eliminate the vegetation issue. Sand would be too challenging to hike with. There many secrets that I didn't want to divulge in the video regarding the science of the dewatering deck. This was an attempt to protect my interests, preventing others from stealing my knowledge, then compete commercially. The large scale manufacturers of these dewating decks will not divulge the science behind how they work. Sure, there are plenty of videos and animations, but no science. I spent many months, days, hours, researching and experimenting to educate myself on this. With that said, I can tell you that the "shake" of the deck is in a vertical direction tipped at 45 degrees. How it accomplishes this, is a huge secret. All components have to function perfectly, in order to operate correctly. Best of luck to you !

      @@allansgoldmining Thank You for description of your travels toward the goal of turning a desert into an oasis.
      My material has probably half the amount of dirt you are battling against.
      It seems there is only so far that you can downsize the equipment where it simply not viable for the amount of material processed in an hour - and the associated pay off.

With the right plant at the right size with his systemYou could process other people’s tailings where they have found good gold. Hope it is of interest to you.

      @@allansgoldmining A simple small scale crusher can be made with a galvanized pipe with a cap on one side, then use a smaller capped pipe to ram inside after you put the quartz rock in. Just keep slamming the small pipe into the large one and it'll keep crushing.
