  • Hello everyone! In this video, I show you how to make a beautiful hibiscus, vegan and sulfate free shampoo bar. I formulated this in my quest to use more botanical and herbal properties to my skincare formulas. Hibiscus flowers are a wonderful additive for hair care because they really help to draw and lock moisture into the hair keeping it looking shiny and smooth! They also impart a beautiful and all natural color to the final product. Unlike my other shampoo bar recipes, this one uses no fancy equipment. You can place the formula into a cavity mold of your choice and they come out rock solid! Shampoo bars are super travel friendly and require no plastic packaging! You can also add a ton of great hair loving ingredients into a bar.
    I hope you like this video, if you did, please remember to give it a thumbs up! Leave me a comment, it means a lot to me, and please subscribe to my channel for more inspiration!

    I'm really impressed how you infused different versions/different techniques of the same product while maintaining the very basic ingredients of it. Ingredients that are not too fancy and hard to find. I actually learned from you that I can create a liquid body wash by just using sles, thickeners and water. Very practical and informative

    I'm always game to try a new shampoo bar recipe! I have everything, so won't be an issue to try it! Good shampoo bar recipes take a lot of effort to formulate! I bought my first from Etsy. I use it to this day in a few different bars, then I have one I created for a couple of bars and I have a rice powder recipe from Humble Bee and Me. Maybe this will be my 4th! Each recipe is unique and brings different properties and hair feel. So as of now I have one for dry, oily hair and curly hair. I need one for normal hair and this might be it! It seems like it fits that category? You tell me your the creator? What are your thoughts on what hair tupe it'd be best for?
    Thanks for sharing,
    Jill Gross

    Can you use hard Shea Butter and melt?

    Hey Cory - is liquid shea butter the same as shea 50? This is one of the best videos I've seen you do yet! I love that I have most of the ingredients already. 🙂 Thank you so much!!

    • @SunshineSoapandCandleCompany
      @SunshineSoapandCandleCompany  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Katherine! Thank you so much! shea 50 is not the same thing as liquid shea. However, if you have shea 50 I do think you could use it in lieu of the liquid shea.

    • @SargentBubblescom

      @@SunshineSoapandCandleCompany Sorry for all the questions - would I use the shea 50 at the same rate as the liquid shea butter? Thanks again! ❤

    • @SunshineSoapandCandleCompany
      @SunshineSoapandCandleCompany  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SargentBubblescom no problem, I am not really sure. I would probably use it at 5% max and then use whatever oil you want to replace the difference. This has PEG in it and from what I know in lotions and such, this would typically be a 5% max.

    • @SargentBubblescom

      @@SunshineSoapandCandleCompany Thanks for that info, Cory. To make it easier (and some would say because I am a HOARDER!) I went ahead and ordered the liquid shea while I was waiting for your reply. It all goes toward my reward points anyway, right? 😉 Thank you again!

    Btw I hope you also discuss different thickeners for water based serums that are not sticky and ph friendly, I find carbomer doesnt work on vit c as serum, while xantham gum and hpmc works but sticky

    Steep the water you are going use to make lemonade with hibiscus. Drain add the lemons and sugar. Boom better for you and refreshing lemonade.

      I’m thinking normal to dry from what I know about ingredients. Not super dry hair but still paired with a good conditioner it looks good.
