Omega Merciful Shoutmon VS Ordinemon!! | Digimon Card Game: X-Record Exhibition Match (BT-09)

- This is an Exhibition Match for the Digimon Card Game's ninth main booster X-Record, featuring Shoutmon and Omegamon Merciful Mode versus Ordinemon. This Red upgrade of the old Shoutmon DX deck adds the new OmegaShoutmon X, parts of the Greymon X line and new Omega forms to increase the deck's overall versatility and consistency. With the stacking of evolution cards especially at Lv.6, it helps to bring out potential of Merciful Mode while launching powerful aggression. On the other hand, the Purple/Yellow Ordinemon deck is a slow but deadly control deck that uses a combination of playing from the Trash, effect deletion and Recovery to slowly drain the opponent's life force to nothing. And now, once again, the fate of the Digital World is at stake!

COMING NEXT: the final BT-09 Exhibition Match - Gaiomon vs GrandisKuwagamon! So I really wanted to build a Merciful Mode deck that doesn't overlap with any of the main BT-09 decks and this is what I came up with. After all, *he* got a new form in BT-09 and will be the star in the upcoming BT-10, so I thought it'd be nice to see what he is currently capable of. With the addition of Greymon X to make Zeke and all the Omnis immune to effect delete/bounce, I think the deck actually got a bit of a consistency buff. And though I didn't manage to showcase it in this video, if you manage to draw into and drop Blitz Omni earlier, you're going to have some fun with a form-changing Lv.7. CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT BEING SENT TO SECURITY THO.

This is just like in the movie, minus Omegamon Merciful Mode didn't appear in the match
I love the commitment to epicness and production value. Normally this would be cringe, but this is so well executed.
It's honestly incredible how much longevity digimon cards have. Like, spoilers, but shoutmon (a BT5 card) was literally a single hit away from beating one of the new decks from the most recent booster. In other games, I doubt this kind of thing would happen. I'm not saying that cards become obsolete too soon in other games, but in a game like yugioh you wouldn't hear of a new powerful deck nearly losing to a year old deck very often. This is why the digimon card game is my favourite.

Ehh, that's because of the banlist. Whenever an old high tier deck gets even a single card back from the banlist, they're immediately back in the meta a lot of the time.
Also, Yugioh is really heavy on legacy support. There's almost no decks from 10 years ago that have never gotten new cards since then.
@@tuvillo I get what you mean, I might not have been 100% clear with what I said. I’m not saying old yugioh decks are never supported, I’m trying to say that mastemon was one of the best decks when it came out, and ordinemon is a straight upgrade for that deck, yet the shoutmon blitz deck was nearly able to defeat it. Something like that happening to a deck that’s probably going to be very popular in the meta is very rare in other games. That’s what I’m trying to say. Sorry if it came across as me bashing yugioh, I love that game too.
@@isickell8714 You're right, but from personal testing I found the Ordinemon package is just a downgrade on the ST10/BT8 Mastemon fusion deck lol.
But yes, this game has a fairly small gap between "tiers", lets say. I can't say if that's a good or a bad thing. I got third place at a Digifest with almost zero prep and an old bad deck (Musketeer), so for me it's been good I guess.

I personally think it's great that there's a small gap between tiers, it means you can play with whatever deck you like, whether it's meta or just your favourite digimon, and no matter what you'll always have a chance to win. Yes some decks have a higher chance than others, but they all have a chance.
