    I wish I could pit my home-built 2-ways incorporating elder German MB Quart paper cone 6" & a Focal T-90 dome tweeter against a set of these. Oh wait, I might get to since my friend Paulie just bought a set of these Wharfedale models.

    Will they sound good for vinyls?
    Can i connect these speaker to a 5.1 amplifier and passive subwoofer? The model of the receiver is PIONEER HTP072.
    Can i connect them also just with a pure copper cable? Or it needs to be bi-wiring? Im trying to learn and improve my system.

      Tharbamar I've listened to 2 amps with the B&W 685 S2, i didn't like the speakers, it's not that the sound is bright it's the upper mids where i can hear a lot of sibilance and the harsh tone it gives in the upper mids i don't like. With the Marantz the soundstage was very big and had a lot of depth but the midrange was not there for me so i tried the Cambridge next and noticed that the soundstage was much smaller less depth but clearer midrange. In these videos i notice that separation between instruments are done better on some of your other review samples. I think i will get a KEF next time :)

      Maybe I like horns, but based on your videos here, the JBL appeared to have better presence and sounded more "real". I can understand why it might cause fatigue in long sessions. Btw, thank you for posting these videos. This is how a review should be done. Many "reviews" up here waste a lot of time by talking about specs and stuffs. Just play the damn music.

    • @its.kamzan
      @its.kamzan 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      LeNNNseN TV depends on your purpose. JBL are more suited for movies. Whereas Wharfedale is mostly 50:50. More natural sounding and warm.
      JBL is like a lit up speaker. But can't sit in the presence for more than an hour.
      Then there is room space.

    Clue me in. How can it make any sense at all to judge or preview a speaker playing through a microphone, being compressed to a small digital file, transmitted to my laptop and then bing played on a different, smaller set of speakers? This whole thing is silly.

    • @Tharbamar
      @Tharbamar  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I made these videos for the people who can’t audition the speakers, not everyone have access to every speakers and please do not think people don’t know, everyone knows the limit of online sound demo. Thanks for cueing in.

    • @davidrobbins8418

      @@Tharbamar I get that. Not everyone can easily get to audition everything. I rely more on your trained ear, your perception. I try to understand what are your biases and preferences. Then I can gauge sound characteristics from your descriptions. In fact, if I do get these Diamond 225 I will do the 5mm modification, based on what you explain about how it improved the bass smoothness. But I don't get how I can trust an "audition" through all these layers of translation of the sound.

      Because these type of videos should not ever be perceived as a definitive conclusion.
      Just a basic evaluation as part of complete set of individual factors, to base a final purchasing decision.
      It's more helpful than not having any audio presentation, whatsoever.

    If I can hear the lack of proper mids even within a youtube video, I'm thinking money would be better spent on a floor standing 3-way set. Great review though, you write down the good and we get to hear the bad.

      wharfedale customer support is terrible anyways. If they break you will get no help, they force you to go to a "dealer" or the likes. 3rd party support and it's like rolling the dice. I'll take my money elsewhere.
