      Germany was way ahead with steel manufacturing and fabrication by the 1930s. Books about the family and steel company called "Krupp" reveal that at the end of WWII the contents of German steel mills were transferred to England, for the purpose of copying German technology. Krupp Steel is still producing, in the 21st century. They made steel right through the war (with the assistance of prisoners/slaves) and for more than a century before that. History of Krupp family and their steel mills explains much about WWII.

      @@laurenz4528 Zinc is a metallic white powder, mined from the earth. It is used as a solution to coat steel and other metals, in the process called galvinization. No gun or other object can be made with zinc alone. Zinc is used as a coating which prevents oxidation (rust).

    How long did the German army occupy this area? Seems like a lot of work to string all that wire and build such elaborate shelter systems

    • @misterno2801
      @misterno2801 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think its built late 1943 early 1944. Abandoned late 1944. I think Germans believed its strategic point (Which Red Army by passed) Looks like it was second line of defense. In first video about this place. They found a lot of land mines around. I think Red Army never bothered to explore and remove what was useful. Other vise that barb wire will be taken long time ago.
