It's really great to understand that you learned how to overcome such a devastating setback at such a young age. I didn't and because of that allowed myself to be overcome by fear and wallow in it for several years. Your struggles with depression could be, in part, related to diet. Get rid of things like sugar in your diet and the depression you've been hit with could go away. I dealt with a lot of depression for over a decade... antidepressants helped a lot... but I no longer deal with it. Lots of things helped, but changing diet didn't hurt one bit. Great video. Cheers!!!
I am so glad you are doing well at this endeavor. I love seeing bright young women be successful. I have ordered 2 of the books so far. Thank you very much.
Wonderful suggestions! Also, since creating pro-level drum grooves would have to be one of my weaker skills, a video in your inimitable style would be great!
Thanks for these tips. I agree the Rick Rubin book was very inspiring. I like to go back to it and read or listen to sections for inspiration. On your recommendation, I just bought the Pat Pattinson book on lyric writing. I had been thinking about it, but your recommendation made the difference.
Some good reading material there! Hopefully I can find the audiobook version pop it on 1.5 speed or more and power through faster than I could read it. Another great self help book i'd highly recommend to check out is Atomic habits, I think it'd help a lot of distracted & irregularly motivated people become there better selves.
You are an inspiration, even for some of us who have lived a bit longer than you....thank you! I have three of the books you've recommended, and will check out a few of your others. Also, seeing you do a drum grooves video would be awesome. Appreciate you; keep on!
Great vid, thanks! Just found your channel from a Novation Launchkey tutorial you did that was so helpful. Keep up the great work and thanks for the Logic tips too!
I’m so glad that you’re going to tell us which book made you 40k cos as soon as you said it I wanted to know haha. You’re definitely a mind reader lol.
For pop songwriters/ producers I highly recommend "The song machine - How to make a hit" by John Seabrook. A very informative and enjoyable read, great part of the book is about Max Martin's rise to fame. As well as his mentor Deniz Pop and one of his own apprentices: Dr. Luke (who was later cancelled due to sexual allegations by Kesha) He worked on some Katy Perry hits and her latest album.
As far as I know, music producers are lazy to read books and exercise, they are also lazy to stand. The same is true for other content producers except yoga and fitness content producers.
