Young Martin’s Reels was created to honor my dad Martin B. Stivers of Louisville KY. He was an avid fisherman and repaired thousands of fishing reels in his lifetime. I spent numerous hours watching him do so, but I have forgotten most of what he taught me. Now that he is gone, and I find myself in need of reel repair, so I am learning how it is done and trying my best to pass it on.

I would also like to thank Dennis Kuntz of 2nd Chance Tackle. His videos have helped to fill in the gaps in my “reel” knowledge. Without his TH-cam videos I’m afraid Young Martin’s Reels would not exist.

Thank you for the video
This video was very helpful in helping me fix my Zebco Dock Demon. Thank you!
Im happy that you found it helpful.
Rick, I think I told you I got another huge Shimano SSG7000 saltwater rear drag reel week before last. I was quite happy how well it operated. I haven’t serviced it yet as I’ve been so under the weather with the flu. This was a very straightforward service for this reel Rick. I’ll bet it would be great fun fishing in some farm pond. Good job! - Chris
I have at least two of these. It has been a topic of discussion a couple of times with some fishing friends. The Dock Demon is marketed for kids but could it be used as a viable combo for fishing in very tight quarters? Around docks or trees?
It wouldn’t be my first choice but it is a fully functional reel with adjustable drag. It came with 100 yards of 8 pound test line. The rod might be the weakest part. It would certainly be fun trying to catch a 3 pound bass on one.
I believe it would work fine for pan fish.
@@youngmartinsreels5314 Agreed! I keep one in my Jeep and use it all the time for pan-fishing in Mid-Michigan. Thanks for the great video!
Rick i would love to see a video of the Daiwa goldcast
I have an older smaller version of it and its my favorite spincast reel
I have a couple videos about it on my channel
I just love when viewers request videos of reels I have in my queue. The GC120 will be the next video I make. Your request bumps it to the top of the list.
@@youngmartinsreels5314 thanks Rick!
