    For the Clear View Cover, which is the one I got, I noticed the clear view field on the front is the exact same size as the camera cutout on the back - so the biggest problem with flip cases is eliminated, you don't have the flap dangling when snapping pictures.

  • @SmarchitectMann
    @SmarchitectMann 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I need a case with a hole for every camera.
    Not one big cut-out square for the cameras.
    It just looks better when all 5 holes on the back are flush with the phone. Straight matte black or rubber. No designs.

    Clear cases seem nice on paper because I really prefer the look of the phone without a case but ultimately the clear case takes more away from the color and look of the phone that it preserves. I got a clear case for my s22 ultra because I like the green color a lot, but the case takes away from the way the light reflects off the finish of the phone which sort of defeats the purpose in the end.

      Yeah the bare phone just doesn't compare to the clear case. Such a shame because the s22u is such a slick phone with a very nice material. One drop without a case tho and it's over

    With the magnet case, try to use the s-pen. You'll find that it doesn't read across any of the area where there's a strong magnet on the back of the phone. Bough the RokForm case, you have to manually peel out the magnets in the case in order to use the pen function at all, and to boot their magnets are strong enough that they make the touch screen erratic on the whole.

    Hey Joshua - first, appreciate the work you put into your videos here. Thanks much for that!
    One thing I didn't hear you mention on the Samsung S-View Flip Cover is that the window for the front display lines up perfectly with the cameras on the back...so you can flip the front cover all the way around and take photos without the front cover flopping around.
    Thanks again for the great videos!

  • @AZTechLabs

    the flip cases have hidden features. You get to see everything with out opening and you can attached a wallet sticky to the front and/or metal ring or magnetic connector without losing wireless charging.

    Whatever phone I get, I always get the otterbox defender. I usually leave my phone screen out and the hard plastic protects the camera lenses from getting scratched over time from putting it in and taking it out of my pocket.

    Worst thing about any flip cover case is that it is a moving part so it can put wear marks on the screen faster than having a bare screen in your pocket since sand and other particulates can have as high a hardness as diamond. It happened on mine.

    my favorite case is the Damda Glide Hybrid from VRS Design... its the best of all my cases because not only does it protect from drops but the slide mechanism for opening the credit card and cash holder on back that fits like 5 cards is so addictive opening and closing but it also incorporates a stand into the back too! so to me it's the most versatile. a little bulky but worth it because you're eliminating a wallet from your pocket

    I prefer the cases that have the uniform cutouts for the rear camera lenses. The problem, though, is that then it's hard to protect the actual lenses with lens-protectors which are regularly sold. I would need a special circular lens cover that drops right on the lens itself.

While I tend to take care of my phones I still like to keep them as protected as possible because they cost so much. That case covers the ENTIRE phone including the cameras and s pen. The number one thing I care about for a phone is that it's a bit grippy, smooth backs just make it difficult to keep a hold of and as such, the old traditional style of smooth case MAKE me drop my phone, I far prefer the feeling of a leather back (wish they were common on phones instead of glass). I'm currently awaiting on the leather cover from my S22U pre-order, so decided to see your input on how it feels. It sounds like it'll be the one for me, I don't need drop protection if the case can help prevent a drop in the first place

    The whole Poetic lineup are fantastic for 360 protection but the guardian is definitely the best looking. Doest have that tacky looking design like the revolution for example. I am a huge fan of the nautical slim though the buttons are best in the industry but the top half of edge where it is slim takes getting used to when holding. Different feeling for sure and I would imagine it throws many people off. The reason I like the buttons are because of how spread out they are which makes them very distinct while my phone is in my jeans. I work as a welder and it makes controlling the volume of earbuds quick and easy without having to take my gloves off and without having to take my phone out of my pocket. Other cases make that process quite difficult.

    You forgot about the pitaka magsafe case which is probably the best of all the minimalist cases out.

      At the time of this recording that case was not available for this device. I would agree though that the pitaka case would be a great option with magsafe.

    Is Leather Good for Water ?

    • @BaneTech
      @BaneTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the leather and how well it's made. Also what kind of water exposure are you talking about?
      From my experience with the leather case made by Nomad on my iPhone, it's gotten wet but not submerged and there's been no issues. It's added to the patina more than anything.

      I would buy one as well but nothing is in stock. Just have to hope for another company to make a good case with magsafe.

    Any suggestion for a case with raised side lips to actually protect the screen?
    Speaking from personal experience,all cases out there are pretty useless for facedown drop screen protection(UAG,Otterbox,Supcase included).I found only one with side raised lips. Temdan case.Any other similar case?

    • @BaneTech
      @BaneTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats the tough part with these curved edged displays. I would suggest looking into getting the Whitestone Dome screen protector. I have one on my Pixel 6 Pro that has a similar curved edge and does a nice job protecting the sides. Case wise, anything with a good lip on the top and bottom with work. amzn.to/3ushTvE + Defender Case amzn.to/3Lo1iA5
