I was made promises about storage that weren't kept. I use that line all the time when selling stuff. People just look bemused and a bit sorry for me and hand over their cash.
I think the partridge in series 1 of I'm Alan Partridge is a lot more like the orginal character we saw in 'knowing me knowing you' than in series 2. But then series 2 is also pure genius!
I know what you mean, but in the second series he wasn't long recovered from being "Clinically Fed Up" which could account for his slight change in personality, maybe i'm reading too deep into it :) although coogan is quoted as being surprised how over the top he played him in the 2nd series.
haha yes maybe being 'clinically fed up' had an effect! On reflection I think one of the main differences is that in series 1 we are laughing more at the character of Alan itself - his awkward social graces etc. whereas in series 2 the humour derives more from the fantastic scriptwriting. I think about partridge too much lol
I was going to say this, and I'm American. The Ricky Gervais motivational speech (with his "assistant") is one of the most memorable pieces of tv for me. Also his dancing. Alan Partridge is truly one of the greatest characters ever.
Stephen Merchant is a big fan of Alan Partridge , so not too unexpected. Whether they copied or not, it is certainly strongly influenced. I love both, but love Alan more. It will never date, and that is the sign of true quality in any line of work.
"Very cleaver men, both very cleaver men, but I don't trust them. Gerry Adams looks like a debuty headmaster and Martin Mcguinness looks like a clown without make up."
If anyone wants to leave then now's the time...
Amazing, absolutely amazing...
So funny the keyboard but at the start... Kills me with laughter
I would love an Alan Partridge tie and badge set. Even if the box was a bit faded!
Perhaps a metaphor for…….
Good evening !!! 🤣🤣🤣
…er, afternoon… Classic

It still works 5 years later
I was doing a corporate for Allied Dunbar, afterwards a bunch of us went down to Laser Quest. Quality.
"Martin McGuinness looks like a clown without makeup" lol
Am I the only guy who would genuinely watch that sort of thing on telly? It looks more exciting than Jonathan Ross nowadays...
And move and fire, move and fire! if you're close enough you can take a headshot
love the beginning bit
1:13 Sophie and Ben in attendance, just for shits and giggles! 😂😂
Again with the pedestrianization of Norwich City Center!

I'm just your biggest fan Alan.

The Office copied so much from Partridge.

Ha ha, he's spot on about Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness.
Probably mocking you mate.

@19189073 yes that's why it's funny, he tries to be clever, on the ball, but isn't.
Because not enough people find it funny.
