You can also use it to Tackle through many monster attacks so you don't get knocked down. At some point he has to learn this, but I guess it'll be funny to watch him go through the entire game without ever figuring out the amazing utility of the Tackle, or to see him figure it out after he's already been through many of these harder fights without consciously trying to use it at all lol.

Disappointing, he learned to tenderize the day before then didn't use it a single time in this stream. He really needs to get tenderizing down, start attacking real weakpoints (heads) instead of going for tails 90% of the time, and start implementing intelligent tackles into his gameplay if he wants to actually make it through the MR fights. Worried he'll get shit on because he won't adapt/learn and then quit and/or blame the game. However, I am happy he's enjoying himself! Enjoying himself is very important too.
it makes sense we have to kill a monster to study it... after all I hear you can learn a lot from a live dissection(bonus points if you get the reference) also Teostra has a female counterpart Lunastra(the difference between the two is that Teostra controls explosions and flames while Lunastra can only control flames... also Lunastra is blue and more violent than Teostra) which you can hunt in the "no remorse no surrender"(I think that's what it was called) questline which can be found under the "special assignments" category the Lunastra questline ends with you fighting Lunastra and her mate at the same time(they will gang up on you if you don't bring friends to pull aggro) and the reward is the "temporal mantle"(basically it does some time fuckery to make it so you automatically dodge until it wears off)
The thing with MR it's that harder fights are really punishing if you don't build for the fight. Bruteforcing through wind boss withoud full wind resist is very hard.
As much as I love Souls game, the fact that you have to restart the whole game to fight a certain boss is just a shame. Monster Hunter bosses are not difficult to beat since you can die 3-5 times (cat revive and felyne insurance) and you can restock potion making survivability rarely the wall of beating the boss (unless you are undergeared or reckless) while in souls you only have one life and unless you summon you fight alone and you have limited healing mean you need to master the boss fight to beat them while in MH you beat the monster in like 15-30 minutes at first then continue fighting them to master them and learn and get better gear until you can kill them with minimum effort. This is why although I like souls game a lot I rarely do more than two run (blind run and wiki run) before dropping the game while in MH I replay the sht out of it and gain hundreds of hours on each title

MHW was the only game in a decade (maybe except for Eldenring) that had me waking up in the morning, being excited like a child, trying to play the game again as soon as possible.
Same, it's a great feeling after being burnt out on video games. Last game that gave me that high was new vegas.
His refusal to use common mechanics like flash pods and GS tackle are hilarious
Man I've been absolutely hooked watching Asmon play Monster Hunter World haha. One of my favorite games of all time, and seeing him play especially when he lands the GS hits with great spacing too, it's just MMMM so great
this guy was born to be a greatsword main. i mean like look at the way he commits to attacks in even the slightest opening he sees. it's crazy.
WYVERN IGNITION BEST SWORD
Gave the uber driver $200 for bringing his phone, actual chad move.
Yeah, that's a good tip. Anyone would be more than happy to do it for 100. So it's a fair price.
@@Chimchimchu most just do it without expecting a tip and that's the bi yearly maintenance fee on that car right there.
I hope he sticks with it all the way to Alatreon and Fatalis. There's so much to enjoy from this masterpiece.
32:36:22 idk why but that forsen emote with the word 'Sackbeater' made me crack up. I have never seen the word backseater got flip like that, funniest thing i have ever seen
It’s awesome seeing him get so into it and love it. I got into MH from WoW because a friend showed it to me. Been hooked since 07
I didn't know how much I was going to like this. And then, stupid me, I passed up Iceborne for a while because I was tired of buying expansions. I didn't know that a Monster Hunter expansion is as good as a brand new game or better.
@@Chimchimchu yeah the old games were a lot like Armored Core, they’d release a title, then release an expansion sequel as a whole new game.
His life has changed so much. He’s taking showers, he is getting outside, he is defiantly changing his shirt, he is changing so much
I remember when i first saw this game in college back in 2017 i thought it had to be one the best games made to date just on the soulslike way you fight the monsters but also the complexity and steps that actually went into hunting the target monster, not to mention the numerous weapon choices and beautiful enviroments shit was like an awakening
I hated it as a ds veteran at first, with every monster attack stunning me and no i-frames lol. The game defo grows on you, I was having a blast doing that late gane dragon boss rush.
Bro, Asmon even grew new hair, thats how much this game changed his life
Fatalis is waiting at the back: Asmongold you are formally invited to my tea party.
He needs to get through Alatreon first ☠️
And Safi by then
I just want to see him get thrown around by a furious Rajang. It’s so damn funny
Alatreon way harder tbh
@@ProrogonLordoftheJagsno shot
i do not remember my palico being anywhere near as useful as his during these fights....did they change something?
watching Asmon (or anybody really) suffers the elder dragons (and conquer them after some serious hardwork) just as I did is the best thing I've ever experienced.
That Teostra fight went so nicely ! Good that he got some back as that Kushala fight was really painfull xD
I'd say the wind dragon was the hardest he's faced so far . Can't wait for more exciting fights this was a good stream
19:00 that's absolute commitment to TCS. Monster was in a different postal code at that point, he still went with it lol
Maybe next time when you go mining make a set that contains
Botanist - so you gather more herbs, mushrooms, fruit, nuts and insects
Geologist - so you gather more items at bone piles and mining outcrops
Entomologist (if you slotted the jewels) - so large bugs like Vespoids always leave a lootable corpse
Master Fisher - which makes it easier to catch large fish
Master Gatherer - speeds up your gathering animation
Forager’s Luck - makes rare gathering points more likely to spawn
Detector - marks rare gathering points on the map
I often think back on going on a hunt in Elder's Recess (dont remember what I was hunting though) just remembering that I was thouroughly enjoying myself. Idk why really, its just one of those rare games that left a lasting impression. Great to see that Asmon is also enjoying MH.
I can't catch every second, but this is peak entertainment!
Also Asmons playthrough influenced some of my friends to play this game.
And as someone with 1800 hours in this game I am very happy about that, so if Asmon sees this; thank you, truly!
For someone who has never play MH before, to not fully faint once in a Teo fight (WHILE USING A GREATSWORD MIND YOU!) is very impressive. That was probably the most intense thing I've ever seen Zack do in a game. I was worried the whole fight lol.
Well considering he already beat nergigante with one cart at least in my opinion no carting teostra seems about right. I feel like hes way easier than the other base elders
crazy how popular mh has gotten, i still remember it as this niche psp (turned 3ds) game that only like 3 other people in my class and friend group knew about it
that's a lot, I only met 1 mhw player irl
@@gordonfreeman5872 to be fair the other 2 only started playing bc they saw how me and this other friend was excited about monhun and they have never heard of it before
so it was literally just me and 1 other guy in my class (possibly whole grade level) who knew about monhun before we hooked 2 other people in lol
31:35 BRUH !!!! That was a clutch claw kill.
Now you HAVE to get a kill with the kick
Recently found your channel a few months ago. Love your content man. An absolute great streamer. 💪
I’ve been watching these videos ever since you’ve started this game. I woke up one morning with it playing on TH-cam. And every once in awhile I hear a cat meowing in the background. My cats hear it too and their ears perk up.
As a veteran MH player this is satisfying😂
The following tools are a thing:
Flash Bombs
Dung Bombs
Ancient Potions
Great Sword Ability to block, such as blocking hits as well as monster SCREAMS and projectiles
Great Sword Ability to triple charge, allowing for highest the damage inputs
Clutch Claw Launching (hitting the monster in the face with a pod when mounted on its face to sent it into a frenzied run, used to make them hit walls and knock themselves out)
Food for Thought
I am so glad that u started playing this game it brings back so many memories!
1:25:38 Unintentional usage of the TACKLE for just one of the reasons it was meant for lol. Skipping the other attacks to get to the TCS faster. Asmon, if you're using the Greatsword, you have to learn to use Tackle more often. I don't think he knows it has super armor yet lol.
I’m so proud of my big bald boy. He’s come so far.
amazing work against Teostra. that GS hit when it was asleep. :chefkiss:
so glad he continued the series!
Ngl it’s really cool to see him get better at the game, reminds me of when I played 3U for the first time.
It makes me so glad that he has been enjoying this so much
He has gotten way further in this game than I would have thought, I never saw him even getting to high rank and now hes killing elder dragons, so proud of the boy, better late than never, such a good game
I never in my life wouldve thought that he will beat Nergigante without flashpods or clutch claw. Always up for a surprise
@@WeitDoch It's because Nergigante is such an easy fight
I cant wait for him to learn how his weapon fully works lol
Wonder when he’ll find out about the slinger/tcs shortcut lmao
He killed shit for 3hrs straight on my screen. Did it show the weapon not working on your video?
@@UncleDave69 Asmon just happen to not using all the weapon moves that could help him, as the name suggest it works but not fully.
Things like using the super armor a Tackle move give you, it can tank through roars and attack in which could lead him directly to True Charge Slash is a move that always available for him from the weapon. There's also Savage Slash or something that super strong and move really fast as an emergency move if you see monster gonna hit you in the middle of charging the weapon.
He doing so well already, imagine if he know all those? That would be insane! I can't wait for him to learn how his weapon fully works.
@@UncleDave69He did say he want to use GS until he fully mastered it. So I don't know why he shouldn't be learning all the set moves for that weapon. Plus learning all the moves will benefit him in the long run as monster gets more harder.
I played 2.5k hrs and it's still a god tier game.
Is this supposed to be a shocking statement? I don't get it
@@UncleDave69People usually get bored playing a game for two and half thousand hours.
yep. After big hours pass comes resentment.@@TheRealOtakuEdits
I'm only on 1300 hours, I now feel like an amateur lol
it makes sense we have to kill a monster to study it... after all I hear you can learn a lot from a live dissection(bonus points if you get the reference)
also Teostra has a female counterpart Lunastra(the difference between the two is that Teostra controls explosions and flames while Lunastra can only control flames... also Lunastra is blue and more violent than Teostra) which you can hunt in the "no remorse no surrender"(I think that's what it was called) questline which can be found under the "special assignments" category
the Lunastra questline ends with you fighting Lunastra and her mate at the same time(they will gang up on you if you don't bring friends to pull aggro) and the reward is the "temporal mantle"(basically it does some time fuckery to make it so you automatically dodge until it wears off)
Sadly this game will put some hair on your chest, but not on your head
KEKW
Yoooo you can sprint while drinking potions and using items! Been a few dozen hits you've taken needlessly!!
These streams make my long ass teacher work days worth it 😊
Another whole session where Shoulder Tackle is left unlearned LMAO.
Does he learn how to use Shoulder Tackle before Iceborne? We'll see.
When he finally finishes the tutorials otll be great to see him tackle the iceborne monsters
yeah, but even in base game there are still harder content like the arch tempered
The thing with MR it's that harder fights are really punishing if you don't build for the fight. Bruteforcing through wind boss withoud full wind resist is very hard.
We got him hooked bois, he's literally the biggest MH streamer/youtuber right now😂😂
Man that's sad
The rocket powered greatsword was my childhood
This was probably one THE best Teostra "first fights" I have ever seen. He straight up wooped him good!
