@@hexwavemusic Hi, yes everything goes into master overdrive. It would be amazing if there would be the option to take out tracks from the master overdrive, that'd bring it in similar sound design excellence territories such as the Syntakt. Nothing beats Syntakt ;)

DTII > OTII > DT in my opinion! DTII Master Overdrive sounds better than what can be done with the OT's Master Track. Track Overdrive on the DTII/DT doesn't go as harsh as on the Octatrack, but it also hess less problems with low frequencies and the Master Overdrive really compensates for that. If that counts for you, it's 48 kHz instead of 44.1 kHz (personally I don't care). The new DTII Filters are great sounding. And so on ;)
You are amazing with these devices. Very good stuff. Great demo yesterday at the launch of DT2. I myself saved up for a rytm mk2 and i am in love but i would like to resample my drums into loops and have them timestretched with other tracks and samples. Also id like a box where i can send out midi loops to my synths for a live rig. I guess DT2 is the way to go ? Only thing i was wondering if i could send out midi chords to my synths instead mono notes. I could sample the synths chords and use them inside the digitakt 2 off course, but then live i cant tweak the synth anymore. Do you think the DT 2 is the best elektron combo, or is it the octatrack that does this job ? I subbed your channel! Also saw you on reddit, the black and white sleeves make you stand out. Awesome stuff !
Thank you ^_^ All Digis (including DTII) can send out up to four notes each Midi Track. You can also send multiple Midi Tracks to the same Midi Channel, to have eight, twelve or more Notes send out to a Synth at once. From what you are describing, DTII sounds pretty perfect. I wouldn't recommed Octatrack unless you really want to use all this live resampling/performance mixer stuff - and/or send out Retrigs/Ratchets via Midi. I love Analog Rytm MK2, but mostly for it's synthesis. It doesn't have slices for example, so it's much less capable in the sampling departement. I'm still not sure if i want to get the Syntakt or the Digitakt II... Digitakt 2 is probably the better choice for me, bu i really wish there was a maschine like those two, but you can use them as a Sapmpler, Synth or Midi... Like a combination of Syntakt and Digitakt 2. Well... :D
The thing it's missing that I most wish it had is an SD card slot. 20 GB is a lot, but it's just so convenient to use SD cards. Also, bummer that there's not retrig for MIDI.
So far, elektron manage to deal with 90% of the problems i had with the Og digitakt, so i probably will get one down the road. they should implement a chord machine : you choose the numbers of notes you want on a single track and automatically it assigns neighboors tracks (on the right of your current track) to your current selected track depending on the number of notes you want to play simultaneously (ex: i'm on track 1, i want to play four notes chords, i choose the chord machine, automatically tracks 2 to 4 are assign and locked to track 1). Since the Digitakt 2 is 16 notes polyphony, it won't be a problem for the user to sacrifice few tracks to have at least one or two kind of polyphonic tracks. Also, they absolutely need to add an ARP. I don't understand why it's still missing, moreover with the fact that Digitakt is also a sequencer for other devices. It will be a crazy creative tool on this device! just this and ratchets for midi and a way to reorganize patterns in a folder list for example, cause it really sucks do it by copy/pasting erasing,etc... (and i'm sad there is not two more inputs, it would have be so great!!!) And thanks so much Catenation for your music and videos, and for not giving a fuck!

The Trigg probability (A/B) where you can have a sound triggered 3 times but not the fourth could already be done by using "PRE" on a ghost note. Things like that forced you to think. Having 16 audio tracks is like having cheat codes to a game 🎮. Having 16 or even 12 makes thing a little too easy. You don't have to use your brain as much as you would with only having 8 and using trigger locks. Don't get me wrong, people who might have been turned off by the limitations of the original Digitakt will go nuts over the mkii.
