    Looks like on the old one you over tightened it that's why they wearout so fast, LoL 🤣😃 classic case of over tightening , wish I could of help you but your rubbers and washer and link are on wrong 😔
    The medal rod make sure you put the part where you can use a wrench to hold it is accessable put it on top
    From top to bottom
    Nut , washer with the in curve facing up , rubber with the lip that looks like it's for a hole facing down into the sway bar hole , rubber with the lip that look like it's for a hole facing up into the sway bar hole , washer with the in curve facing down
    Bottom part
    Washer with the in curve facing up , rubber with the lip that looks like it's for a hole face down into the hole , now go under the arm and use that extra washer that has the lip facing up with the lip insert it in to the arm from the bottom , then rubber with the lip so that the two end lip are touching each other through the arm , now the last washer with the in curve facing down ,and the last nut
    This is the diagram on the OEM website
    And don't over tightened it it's not supposed to be super tight just enough that the bushing don't split in half LoL 🤣

      Truth Seeker Thank you mate for your reply, you are absolutely right about the condition of the rubber washers, they are squashed and might not last as they should( still going strong) , I did buy a new pair this Black Friday just because they were very cheap on Euro car parts and I will replace them in the future according to your directions , thank you very much, I appreciate your help !

      @@Gaby83 Let's see the black Friday parts installed!! :) Those linkages must be toast by now.
      Also, spray those rubber parts down with silicone spray to protect them!

      Chao E thank you for your kind words, this makes me upload the video I made replacing brake pads as soon as possible , just make sure you read all the comments below as I did fit the washer the wrong way around and they are squashed, still in good working order, but squashed thank you for your comment ! Truth Seeker seems to know the order better than I, so it is better to use his directions on how to assemble them :)

    Thanks for the video. It helped me which way they go. But those cups should not bend when you tighten them. Those are self locking bolts.

    You overtightened it. I did the same as you. I bought the same make and it held up for 3 years

  • @lucash1980
    @lucash1980 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ah, the age-old German practice of "Gutentight" -- crank 'em down until your wrist clicks. Ain't goin nowheres but the gaabage.
    Enginerds made it just so--follow the directions, or let it go.
    It is funny how posting a video of mistakes is the fastest way to get a mountain of hateful comments BUT ALSO great feedback on the correct method--your comment section even has diagrams posted! This is an opportunity to edit your video with the correct install (with those extra black Friday parts you bought) or make a new correction video. We are always learning.
    In all honesty, if people keep posting videos of "good enough for me" jobs and people keep butchering their repair jobs, the government is going to step in and start making home repairs illegal. Average fools are watching "DIY make your own brake pads--Easybake oven hack!" and will end up killing someone. Tight economic times just makes this worse because more people are desperate to try it.
    We need right to repair legislation to protect our freedom, but we have to be careful about keeping a safe and accurate repair community. Any misinformation will be used as an example/excuse of why restrictions need to be put in place ("for your own good").

      Hi Shane, yes, I believe so, if you look at yours they should look quite rough, the rubber pieces, if there are any left, please read through the comments down and you will find the right way of mounting them, since I made a mistake in assembling them.
      Good luck! 🙂

    Nice video. I can't see the exact order of how you have assembled the rubbers and washers but I can certainly see that you have installed the last washer at each end the wrong way round. The convex side should sit into the void of the rubber it sits on. By installing it the way you have reduced the threads available to run the nut down onto it. By the time you have forced it all the way down, the pressure on the rubber below will be only on the outer edge and totally distorting it. You might not have needed the clamp otherwise.

      I show the order at @min9 , I caught the anti-roll bar between the 2 rubbers, but thank you for your input , there were no instructions in the box and the old ones were knackered, I just made the video because I couldn't find one online on exactly how to do it. I hope people will read your comment and put them the right way around . Thank you ! Btw , it's still ok after few months now, don't buy very cheap ones of Ebay , just buy the cheapest ones from a proper car shop ! :)

    • @MrAladinvain
      @MrAladinvain 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I missed or at least forgot, that part. There is another video where he puts the outer washers the right way but very annoyingly there is another video from Autodoc who sell car parts on ebay and their fitter puts them the wrong way. The yaris service manual shows the order.

    good effort mate no wander you were confused by the different washers etc bad design by toyota any other car has a far simpler set up great video though and you are correct that you get what you pay for.

  • @Adam-cu2be

    You have got the washers and rubbers in the wrong places which is why you needed a clamp to install.
    This is probably why your previous kit wore out so quickly!
    The lock nuts were not able to do up enough to work.

      My original Toyota, lasted 18 years with 100K on the clock the Febi, Lemforder, RIdex lasted 6 month! Better buy genuine and get the orientation of the washers right for a start!
