Oy! That horrible flag is my national flag if you don't mind. Lol. Anyhow I got this amp & it's very good indeed. I paired it with the later cd6007 which is brilliant, "listening as I type this". I am loving the usb side of things for my few hundred flac albums too. A great pairing. I also feed a rega planar 3 through it & so far no regrets. Best part of this amp The Flag........
My dealer in denmark, told me than the "UK" models of marantz are often not the same as the rest. They sold a ton of the pm6006, none has come back. Im going to to try it out my self and find out if it has the noise issue aswell.
I bought the NR1200. Sure it may be worse (audible ?) in sound quality but man 500-600 euros (base price) for a basic amp without anything else, I Don't want to pay the price of niche market production
Thank you for this video. With this new amp, will I be able to retain my old speakers, a pair of Mordaunt Short 904, as speakers A, and get a new pair of Q Acoustics 3020i , to use as speakers B? I intend to use only one pair of speakers at a time, that is, to select either speaker using the speaker switch. Would be grateful for advice. Thanks
You'd be best to check the online manual for this. Usually you can do this but best to check the manual in case there are any impedance considerations etc. Should be fine. It's pretty common for people to wire e.g. A to in room speakers and B to e.g. outdoor speakers.
@@tdcattech Nice one buddy, I think Denon has a more broad sound stage. People rave about Marantz being the upper brand but I get more listing enjoyment from Denon, and Denon amplifiers are easier to pair with speakers.
I used to own three Denon systems and switched to Marantz (the melody X M-CR612) a year and a half ago. And I like better the Marantz sound. Warmer, better midrange and less fatiguing. It also matches my Dali speakers better.

I love Marantz stuff and hope that all others are not like mine, but it’s something to watch out for and double check so you can buy with confidence.
Why do they do a UK edition on most marantz stuff ? Is it because we have better ears or because we are more refined....... Ha ha ha .......
Bass and treble maxed out? Why?

Are you sure it has a toroidal transformer? I've got it but its not toroidal I think

@@tdcattech Will do. Thanks for reply! 🙂
And of the 'UK Edition' upgrade, any summary? A few thoughts on your opinion of its performance wouldn't go amiss
Being honest i prefer Denon myself.
Never had any issues in over 7years with my amp
I agree. I bought a Denon amp for £200 in 1992. It was used until 2018 and even then it wasn’t broken.
