Over the past couple years the nfo we received on bass via ffs and watching guys like Milliken throwing big baits changed my winter game from a Ned snorefest to getting to some of my biggest fish of the year. Definitely changed my mindset on how I catch fish. Great video as usual Debo
Sick video Debo keep up the great work. I love throwing swimbaits around this time, they definitely produce giants I’ve caught some of my biggest fish in February and March.
Thanks for this couldn’t come at a better time, I want to start trying more glide baits have caught a handful also and want learn more, so I can’t wait to see more about them and what you can pass on to us
I think if this stuff didn’t work, it would be tough to sell. I think with everyone getting into fishing, there’s been a lot of pressure and so needing to throw something different, whether significantly larger and realistic or tiny, has proven to help catch fish when standard lures fall short. There’s definitely a lot of saturation in the market now and a lot of it probably is companies just trying to push products, but I think the categories themself work, too.
I like the Lure DIY Videos my friend and just watching is extremely cathartic and a great way to keep busy during these Cold Months. I really like that Debo Custom Topwater but I’d never use it being a Debo Custom. Stay safe up there Devon.
Upper midwest tip - learn how to fish glides in areas where there are pike. A choppy glide is a pike dinner bell and you'll build confidence that can be taken over to bass fishing. My 2¢
When I first developed confidence in the swim bait, it was with the 6th sense Trace 6" hard bodys. I was skeptical at first, price, size, big combo costs. It was worth it. I live in the big bait, big fish world now.
Maybe we can use those bigger baits to help break up some of this ice!! Great vid. Glidebaits are definitely on my list of things to try in 2025. Can't wait to get it started!!
My favorite glide is the Throwback Baits Metro Glide, that bait has the best action as far as a choppy glide that I’ve ever seen in the water! Awesome glide
I definitely think there's something to these big baits. It's my goal to fish them more this year but that's what's great about fishing: there's a different style for everyone!
I have a Chronarch as well! Maybe ill copy you and use it for my swimbait rod too lol… i gotta get on the big baits too. My guy who fished in the KBF TENvitational told me to work on that 6 inch swimbait game. He said its a game changer
My .02 on largish swimbaits & glidebaits, they catch big fish. It is "slower" fishing, especially glidebaits, you gotta work them so they look real. I think you will have fun digging into big bait fishing this coming season. Great video as always 🐟🎣
Bfs small baits and bigger swimbaits have been around for decades. They just wasn't in the norm or lime light till a few years back. Bfs started as anglers in Japan building custom reels to cast light lures. Then some companies like daiwa started manufacturing reels that could do lighter stuff and it's progressed with technology is all. There's been 50 size baitcasters that would throw bfs size lures for probably 20 to 25 years now lol. Swimbaits was a real niche fishing style and I believe it came over from musky, pike and other larger fish species but it works.
I am pretty sure all of us want to see you catching hogs with these big baits. The question about swimbaits, some large mouth absolutely demolish them around here but it takes a bunch of casts. The 4play pro from savage gear is a great one you didnt mention. Many fat bass and pike here in southern Ontario have been caught with that bait.
Spot on, it’s something different compared to the 3.5-5.5” swimbaits. They’re fun to throw, I’ve had a couple follows but nothing yet. I bought a RAID soft glide, S-Waver, the zaldanerious swimbait, and the new Zman swimbait to try late winter and early spring. I’ve also invested in a L spinning rod to throw micro baits. Should be fun a year fishing
Those Chad Shads are choppy baits both the Spro and OG versions. Also I bought the same exact Chimera shad that you have, got it on sale during TW Christmas sale
Debo, save the date. WHEN: July 11-12 WHERE: St. Cloud, MN WHY: Kayak Adventure Series Achigan's "Mississippi BronzeQuest" I’d love to see you and meet you at an event. Especially an event, close(ish) to you. Come on out, enjoy yourself, meet and collab with others, chase some green and bronze backs, and make some great memories
Those big swimbaits catch big fish in water bodies that contain them. It sucks that it takes just the right conditions, specific gear and the cost is high. I have some I found and refurbished but they just sit on the wall.
For anyone else, huge waste of money, for you being gifted majority of them, I don’t think it’s a waste of money when they’re free. Especially if you catch fish on it, it’s only a waste of money if you spend money on it and it doesn’t ever produce. I’m all for branching out and trying new things but I feel like new anglers should become familiar with fundamental baits before even thinking about a big swim bait or glide bait. Fundamentals are your t rigs, jerkbaits, soft plastic jerkbaits, “finesse” swimbaits, cranking, and spinnerbaits. If you have a good feel for all those fundamental techniques, swimbaits come as natural as anything . From there it’s finding the best one for them, again they should start with fundamental baits like 6” magdraft and a S-waver or chad shad. Good places to start. Great baits. Or a bucca trick shad if you can’t get a SPRO chad shad.
Yes. The big ones are a waste of time if you don’t have big bass to throw to. It’s one of those big risks, big rewards type of things like Musky fishing, but if the big fish aren’t there, you’re wasting your time.
Best advice - pick one style of swimbait to learn well first, then another, and another. Don’t try to learn them all at once.

You just figured out why garage build swimbait makers charge over $100 per bait with your first attempt at making one.
I'd definitely buy that crappie bait you painted nice work and stay at its definitely addictive throwing glides and swimbait
Love throwing big swimbaits. You have to have it in your mind you throw those for quality not for quantity.
Nice video Debo. Great craftsmanship!
Sick video Debo keep up the great work. I love throwing swimbaits around this time, they definitely produce giants I’ve caught some of my biggest fish in February and March.
More feeshin behind scenes! Debo once ice out what is first lure for Baitcaster and spinning setups?
Artistry!! Keep up the terrific work; can’t wait for these viDebos in the spring!!
Swimbait fishing is just fun just like fishing with BFS gear. Some guy's just like to complain about how others enjoy their time on the water.
Awesome video I can’t wait for open water and seeing you carry a swim bite rod a BFS rod And a drop shot rod
Thanks for this couldn’t come at a better time, I want to start trying more glide baits have caught a handful also and want learn more, so I can’t wait to see more about them and what you can pass on to us

Im surprised your not using that Shimano Tranx for swimbaits, cool video buddy keep up the good work
I’m trying these and BFS this yr so we shall see wow it goes. Either way it’s gonna be awesome just being on the water.
Some great lookin paint jobs. We should setup a hand painted bait swap
Every video on your channel is a little work of art. I look forward to the new episodes!🪱🌳🌖

I have been slaying in Jersey on the 9inch nessie. 1-6lb fish in the cold and the era mini glide. Its cheap and an easy way to get comfortable
And maybe watch a few old Tactical Bassin swimbait seminar videos and u will b straight

Once again Debo, great little video 👍👍
When I first developed confidence in the swim bait, it was with the 6th sense Trace 6" hard bodys.
I was skeptical at first, price, size, big combo costs.
It was worth it. I live in the big bait, big fish world now.
Each of your videos is a small masterpiece that surprises with its originality and creativity. Keep up the good work!😽👏🏻🍨

Love watching your stuff Debo!!
Great information Debo I am going to try the berkley 5 inch cull shad
Where are you getting your wood to make baits?
I definitely think there's something to these big baits. It's my goal to fish them more this year but that's what's great about fishing: there's a different style for everyone!
I just barely resisted the temptation to plunk $160 on the Clutch Baby Boss drop tonight. Got an Eco and gonna try that first.
1:39 Cesar!
Now you’re taking my language!
Fishing the day 🎣🐟👀👌👍

Look at the shimano slx 7'8 heavy action rod? Cough cough look at the hinkle trout that costs a arm and a leg 😅

I hope he gets the new Outlier.
just asking because I Roland McClendon just got the same baitcaster
when i catch a fish on a certain bait, you best believe im gonna go order 100 packages of that same bait
Curious what type of wood you used to make baits? Thx Debo
Those are some really nice swimbaits😮
"It's just to sell baits" - Guy who buys a million zillion plastic worms every year probably.
That Txc baits hat mr.!

Get Cesar. He knows his stuff. Makes quality baits with style. He been doin this a long time.
It is just a different way to fish, but there is something exciting to throw a big bait on big equipment
We’re both catching a new pb this year 🎉
I have some of those gears Gary
Those Chad Shads are choppy baits both the Spro and OG versions. Also I bought the same exact Chimera shad that you have, got it on sale during TW Christmas sale
Try a multi jointed swim bait around 4". 2 to 3 pound bass will eat them because big glid baits were designed for bass over 10 pounds.

Best swimbait is a live 4" bluegill !!
How is it going debo
