Do you prefer pairing the BigSky with the Echo System or the TimeLine? Also curious about the pairing that reverb with the Dark World and Volante. The BigSky and Echo System seem compatibly expensive sounding. I'd be curious to hear glitchier analog-modeled fare.

Cool congrats with the purchase! The orange cable is the only source here, which is mono. Most modes generate a great stereo field based on mono signals.
I'm really torn between this and the Strymon El Capistan. What I'd like to know is do you feel the TAPE mode of this is at all any competition with the Strymon or is that an area that the Empress just sort of covers, but not with enough color /degradation, warmth & smoothness like the Strymon can do? From your demo it looks like the Empress' version of tape degradation is just noise. Thanks
I have the magneto to compare it with, which is based on the capistan. I feel the empress has alot of character and much more different modes, but if it's just the tape algo, the strymon wins to me
I kind of had a feeling that was the case... I'm so close to pulling the trigger on the El Cap then I hear your demo of those dub chords taking me into dublivion and my jaw drops. I like this Empress for the variety and how I could just take ONE pedal for a live show and have all the FX I need, but then again I typically prefer to have separate items for specific tasks and the more that gets packed in the closer it gets to being an iPad lol... that's just the weird way I think. However if I were to ever consider using either pedal as a looper the Empress wins, hands down. I saw a guy demo the looper function and it is insanely clear and simple and I like how it has a light for each "track".... the El Cap also has looping features but are much more hidden. That said, I already have two looper pedals as it is lol.
There was a video I saw comparing the fulltone tte and a bunch of tape delay pedals including the el cap, echoplex and bell epoch. You might find that useful
what are your thoughts of the empress volante? I am having a difficult time truly picking a delay for my analog setup. Jeeze apart of me wants to get a re20 or this echosystem

I've tried, but often it is too much combining the two imho. Maybe as sends on a mixer but I often prefer 1 pedal per channel
