    My son thanked me last month, after 37 years, for not having soda in our house when he was a kid because he watches how addicted his co-workers are, having to spend all day obtaining and drinking soda all day. We also had home cooking of wholesome food. He had to learn to cook because he couldn’t find food he wanted otherwise. Teach your kids to cook and they may be less likely to eat junk food.

      @@DS-oi4wl It's never too late, just "model" the proper human diet and the good results you're experiencing now and she will be drawn to do the same. There are tasty electrolyte powders that can be mixed in with seltzer (I like watermelon electrolytes mixed with Trader Joe's grapefruit seltzer), also creative, delicious foods online, by Anita the Ketogenic Woman, also Chris Cooking Nashville, and Maria Emmerich. I've seen carnivore mashed potatoes, lasagna, and hot cheetos, I'm trying to get my granddaughter to consider. If you can prepare some of these treat foods with her, she might want to experiment with them. Overwieght is not the only difficulty for teens, hormonal, emotional, digestive, and dermatological concerns all are addressed by carnivore. If you can interest her in the diet now, she'll thank you for it some day.

      @monicasanaphre หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's the obssessive, compulsive and addictive behavior present in any addict. They also mention guilt, that's also present in addicts. Moderation would be possible for people thatvare not addicts.

    • @rawmilkmike
      @rawmilkmike หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @monicasanaphre That's not true. Anyone who has restricted calories will have a lower metabolic rate. This always leads to increased appetite and weight gain. Will power can only last so long. Many obese people will plateau at eight hundred calories a day, not losing weight for years. The only way to fix this is to go carnivore and increase calories until ones metabolic rate returns to normal. For chronic dieters, increasing calories is the only way to lose weight.

    • @rawmilkmike
      @rawmilkmike หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @HealthyCarnivoreUK In American, every woman thinks she's overweight. But as long as she never goes on a diet, she should have no problem moderating. Once you restrict calories, you're screwed. Until you discover the carnivore diet. But even then, you have to make sure you eat enough. If you start restricting again, you will plateau. Eight hundred calories a day is not enough, even on carnivore.

But unfortunately between severe sugar addiction, trashed digestive systems from years of abuse, and the fact they could not eat enough red meat that it was disastrous. They completely struggled to get in the calories. It was so bad I told them to stop. It’s apparently not for everyone. As long as you’re regularly lifting weights and exercising it’s incredibly easy to break through your plateau utilizing what’s called a “Cyclical Carnivore Ketogenic Diet.”
      This basically means six days of extremely high fat and protein from eating carnivore then one day a week you ingest a significant amount of protein AND carbs, but with NO fat consumption.
      What precedes the “carb-up/re-feed/supercompensation” is a full-body thrashing in the gym to where your goal is to annihilate yourself head-to-toe then go home and eat as many carbs as possible.
      This causes both a huge anabolic response as well as a lipolytic response. Meaning that it’s both muscle building and great for fat loss.
      I have done this off and on for twenty years and every time I do it it works flawlessly. I cannot recommend it enough.
      If you’re an avid reader then I highly recommend you read the book “The Anabolic Diet” from Dr. Mauro di Pasquale. As well as Dan Duchaine’s “The Militant Guide to Extreme Body Recomposition (something like that?). As well as any and all articles from Lyle MacDonald.
      There’s SOOOOOO many carnivore folks that’d receive extreme benefits by utilizing this CCKD way of eating.
      FWIW, what I eat for my re-feed is three pounds of de-fatted chicken breast, ten cups of soaked and pressure cooked organic jasmine rice, and a massive amount of raw local honey and liquid aminos to top off the chicken & rice. I salivate just thinkin’ about this MASSIVE meal. I never get tired of this, but it HAS TO be earned.

    Im 62 and for some reason never had a weight problem or trouble losing weight. I went carnivore because I'm a sugar junkie and was heading towards becoming diabetic. I realized just because you can eat something and not gain weight doesn't mean your body isn't being harmed. I'm 5'4 120. I was 128lbs when I started carnivore and got down to 113 before I got too scared to get on the scale. I asked a couple of carnivore influencer what to do and they told me to eat three meals a day instead of twice a day. I'm very active so was under eating. What fixted my weight issues is dairy. Eating butter and cheese had me gaining weight to the point I was 128 lbs again. Since I like weighing 118-120 I realized that eating dairy especially every day will destroy your weight loss effort. Carnivore cured hemorrhoids for me. It was an intermittent and unpredictable problem...and slowly worsened over the past three years. While new on carnivore, at first I was focused on the weight I was losing so fast; then at the seven-week point is when it occurred to me that the sometimes-problematic bowel movements and hemorrhoid issue had vanished.

    This may help someone. When I get stressed, without even thinking about it, I would find myself in front of the fridge. So I knew I needed a quick fix, to stay away from carbs, etc. I started making simple deviled eggs using mayo made with coconut oil, mustard, vinegar and paprika. When I needed to stress eat, I only would eat a deviled egg. After a few weeks of this, (including mostly on the carnivore diet), I could see that I felt stronger, and that fragile, sickly feeling, I seemed to always have, had abated. Vinegar snd mustard have vita B in it. Did that help my stress? Not sure. But eggs did help me succeed on a mostly protein diet. Its those little things that help you get over the hump, when you first go carnivore, that help so much.

    Dang… this video was so much more than just an informative video on Carnivore but so incredibly insightful for those who have struggled in their relationship with food.
    Laura’s self compassionate perspective is just what I needed to hear to understand:
    Honor my body by fueling it the proper fuel. What is my body affected by? What is my non-negotiable?
    - No carbs / sugar -> Carnivore/keto
    (These are my current goals as a new carnivore - this doesn’t have to be forever but it’s the stepping stone that works for me)
    Where can I remain flexible and incorporate variety/enjoyment so I don’t put restrictive boundaries / unrealistic expectations on myself? How will I address temptation?
    - Find what works for you and your body’s needs. There is no clear line of the perfect diet.
    - I like Laura’s take on cheese and dairy for condiment purposes. Being lactose intolerant I can’t handle dairy but can do raw cheese in moderation. I look forward to making my treat of carnivore pizza 1-2x month. 😋🍕
    - “Not now. It’s there and I want it but I feel too good not to ruin that feeling.” Take it one day at a time.
    Mindset shift: What else is important to me other than weight loss? What are my other health goals?
    - Similarly to Laura, I’ve had an all or nothing mindset when it comes to trying a new diet. I’m not going to label Carnivore as just a “diet/fad” to lose weight. A diet has labels of being restrictive. But it’s so much more than that for me. Weight loss is an added benefit to my main focus of seeking healing my sensitive gut and reducing inflammation.
    Find support through like minded people / community that can be a part of this journey. 💕
    On that note, I just wanted to express how grateful I am for you, Rina, for starting this conversation and @LauraSpath your insight and wisdom in the journey you and Chris have been through. Thank you!!

I know it's not 100% carnivore but it helps me stick to it and keep loosing weight. As long as there are no carbs or anything sweet! Its all back on after very stressful life events and changes and the pain. I dint binge, eat carefully ish but one bite of that sugar and even in tiny amounts, very difficult to quit, but im watching his because im about to try again, started yesterday. What was great about this interview was how realistic she is and that i also cannot bear to be counting macros etc when theres so much else in life to manage, its got to be easy. I also was overfasting, lost my luscious hair (which i may not get back fully at 59 and its long ) and weight stalled. I could not find out why. I cant afford subscriptions to apps to calculate protein yet but i did end up being able to tell if i needed more fats / enrrgy so now i know to eat more and more protein. Im about the weight laura started. Ive been practicing intermittent IF so am going to kick off with a reset fast 24 to 48 hrs (as per mindy pelz) and take all this on board . I hope ive figured it out now. I am very worried though that with big boobs and tummy im going to be quite "body unnatractive" with saggy wrinkly skin which is going to be as miserable as being fat. I am also not someone who does well with moderation and have failed every diet including keto. SO I decided in the beginning I will cut all carbs but keep my dairy, eggs, cheese, etc. Plus taking the advice to add in electrolytes (which I did home-made to save money). I think this is why so far I haven't had some of the more major side effects other than the big D and some fatigue. I've been doing keto off and on for a few years and remember thinking I could never give up bread or pasta for more than a couple days showed me I could. I just need to use this same approach. I need to lose some weight but it's more about staying out of the medical system and their drug pushing. Being in my early 50's, I'm blessed to have no medical conditions or prescription drugs I take. I want to keep it that way.

    For me on Carnivore I have allowed myself 40 to 50 carbs of any carbs I really enjoy. I can moderate. I don't like veggies or fruit because they cause digestive issues. My choice of carbs is grains like 40 grams of bread, a muffin, peanut butter filled pretzels. As long as I don't eat over the 40 to 60 grams and have it after my fatty steak it doesn't trigger me to want more. I've tried no carb Carnivore adding additional fat to stay satisfied and it doesn't work for me. When I say I can't have any carbs that I love I go off completely. When I'm not meat based I don't gain weight but definitely see diminished muscle tone, poor skin/acne, and joint/inflammation. So for me I am doing Carnivore for health but allowing my small carbs of choice keeps me happy and healthy. I've never been overweight. Yes I wanted to lose 10 pounds and I lost 8 but regardless after that my weight doesn't change even the times I went completely off Carnivore and ate up to 150 carbs. But going back up to 150 carbs although no weight change I didn't feel good. I think Carnivore definitely is good and we can tweak it to fit where it works for each of us to have it as a way of life not a temporary diet. I found my balance and feel amazing. I'm 64 and going strong!!! Great interview ❤

      Interesting experience. I am being pretty strict right now for joint inflammation reasons. It's working. Losing a bit of belly fat that had crept on ..don't need to lose a lot of weight..10 to 15 pounds would be good.. I am not an emotional eater. I am a cook who likes to make food that tastes good and is healthy.. I lost 5 pounds in 10 days.. also quit coffee.

    I love you sharing your long term experience. When I went into carnivore I had a difficult time. I definitely had to add HCL with pepsin. I had a low acid stomach. I am 67,so that is what really changes things. It has led me to the discovery that I have a bacterial infection Helicobacter pylori or H pylori . They are saying that this is something aquifer in childhood. It can be silent in symptoms. I personally was iron deficient and couldn’t seem to ear proteins, especially beef. These bacteria feed on carbs! This bacteria is transmitted through saliva. Kissing or sharing utensils. I think I would not have figured this out without carnivore. Food has changed in its priority in my life. I felt so obsessed. As well.

    I’m 2.5+ years Carnivore with 15+ years keto prior to that. The health benefits are endless and I feel good, no meds, lost over 100lbs. I love Carnivore’s simplicity, it saves me money and the boundaries that I’ve set for myself gives me food freedom. My go to foods are eggs or ground beef. I have a fair share of steak and coffee everyday, black or with a splash of cream as a dessert. Cheese is another occasional dessert or like a condiment for a dish.

    The only thing I believe is a necessity for me is pastured eggs. I can get an upset stomach from cheaper eggs and I eat 6 eggs a day and it's not worth getting a stomach ache over. I shop for sales on all my meats. It's absolutely possible to heal with conventional meat. I've seen it when my son did a meat-based diet for colitis.

    My primary reason for going on carnivore was for health; I read so many of the comments that talked about improving my health. At the time I started I was having horrible knee pains plus I felt so lethargic; zero energy; within two weeks I felt so energetic and so many things were improving; technically I have been on this way of eating for 6 month and have lost 30 lbs; I lost maybe 20 lbs the first three months and now it is usually about 2/3 lbs. a month; this month of November has been wash I have maintained my weight but I have had some fruit, a bit of sweets after all it was Thanksgiving; getting back on the wagon realizing that Dec. may be a wash too; I am not going to be so restrictive because I know if I feel restricted I won't stay with it; the biggest difference I find is don't have craving for anything; I also know that my body composition has changed it is quite apparent; I will stick with this for the health reasons but I also don't know when I will try to maintain a given weight; my body has changed throughout the years; don't know what will look good; skinny is not want just good health.

    For those who have issues with the taste of grass finished beef, try covering your grass fed beef with a lot of butter after its cooked. if you are already doing that try more. also make sure you are covering it with the beef fat from the pan after cooking. if you are using some fat in you frying pan make sure you aren't using the seed oil poison (canola, corn, vegetable, soybean, cotton seed) or olive oil which can't take that amount of heat without going rancid. use beef fat or lard(saved from previous meals) or ghee. when grilling make a sauce with butter, salt, and olive oil with garlic cloves smashed into the mixture (if you are eating garlic). (If you are not eating garlic, my personal opinion is you are being too dogmatic with your diet, non of my business though). personally i have found a big range in the consistency of the taste of grass finished beef, much more inconsistent than grain finished, but not to the extent that many are expressing. of course taste is personal.

    ... and meal prepping. or Meat prepping. If you follow Laura and her husband, they cook their steaks, or meat for a few days ahead of time. This gives you 3-4 days of freedom. No descision, just pick and reheat your meat and carry on. Laura also is known to carry dried meat or meat sticks or carnivore crisps and things in her purse while traveling. and THE water bottle and electrolytes. not mistaking , a person may be thirsty and not just hungry. Electrolytes really help me with that as well.

Definitely relatable eating peanut butter straight and eating rows of Oreos. Would be easy to relapse- I do occasionally have a cheat meal, but it feels awful physically when I do. :Just get thru the day without eating peanut butter." An approach appropriate to the timing. Observing oneself and knowing thy self and helping oneself to reach small goals to large. For me, after wheat slip ups most days, my daily goal is to be carnivore and absolutely not any wheat ever. But after being strict carnivore for a few months, then eating wheat it shocked me to the core because it highlighted my addiction to the most damaging food ingredient for my body, gut, brain. So now starts the no wheat no matter what goal. Should be more doable now that I have identified my main weakness and at the same time the main culprit always flaring my body up with pain, migraines, bloating and fatigue, and major gut damage.

I can eat jersey heavy cream but not that of other cows, even organic. its a2 protein i think. ( the Jersey is handy for fat and absolute satiation...i had gone off coffee but i do have one now. can't get jersey cream at the moment but am sourcing some so I can test if its ok.

    Excellent point !!!! Everyone is different. And how much you eat and what is the ratio of protein and fat is your own unique requirement. Listen to your own body and play with everything within carnivore life style. That’s what works for me. I didn’t have too much fat to lose, but still did and gained muscle mass even I’m in my 60s. Amazing thing is that I found out that I don’t need to kill my self in the gym in order to look and feel great 😊 Best look to you all❤
