2:14 I like to think that the support for only Windows XP and 7 are for two reasons:
1. Why Windows and not Linux: Windows is more widespread so from a business perspective that works better
2. Why not Windows 8, 10 and 11? Those contain telemetry and already sell the soul. ;)

@@michaelandreipalon359 Basically Windows keeps logs of activity and periodically sends diagnostics to Microsoft. Insofar as I've been able to gather, the goal is to allow Microsoft to detect system errors and gain insight into how Windows is generally being used - and thus which parts of the OS should be prioritized for improvement. But there is also a privacy concern of course, which is why there are tutorials on how to remove telemetry from Windows. If you intend to follow one then do know that you'll be tampering with the OS which can harm the computer if done carelessly.
@Michael Andrei Palon mostly info on browsing habits, user types, programs used what you do in those programs. Etc. Supposed to just be used my Microsoft to help improve user interfaces and figure out what people like and hate most. But they sell it to advertisers

7 had more telemetry, but it was just less invasive of your privacy. 11 is straight up malware.

MC&D is, in my opinion, the most underrated GOI in the SCP universe.

They're more like, well, an extremely high end auction house IRL. Most of the really high end auction houses have concierge services for their regular high tier buyers where if you want something, they can generally hunt it down for you, though you may still have to bid for it at auction.
I mainly say this because they don't seem to do bulk goods and all that, it's specialized and expensive, very niche products that they acquired or commissioned through their vast network of contacts. That said I feel like they probably do same day/next day shipping, after the check clears, of course.

@@911meltdown2 Well for those not interested in the topic, a segemented video series means several weeks of "no new content", while a normal video would only mean waiting another week.
(ie I am not really into kaktusverse so when tes was uploading for example 6765, i just went back to catch up on old updates. Totally fine, just lacking the "new update excitment", if that make sense)
Not critising long scp videos by any means, just explaining why people might not like them as much.
@@anonymousme3166 I feel like it boils down to why/when you watch. I prefer longer length ones because I listen to sleep. Shorter compilation ones like these or shorter ones in general, typically will keep me listening before I can zone out. If that makes sense. The longer ones definitely take me at least 7 days to listen to, so I get to stockpile content while I actually finish the video. And allows me to be able to go to the next without having to rewatch videos. But that's just me. Longer ones definitely get a return factor that shorter ones don't.

MC&D is arguably the most benign, harmless group with no ultimate goal, but the worst enemy you could make, with seemingly unlimited resources, and they hold on to even the slightest of grudges with bitter fury.
“Harmless” isn’t exactly the right word. I mean, in terms of groups that are directly opposed to most of the SCP Foundation’s goals, they aren’t actively trying to be hostile or antagonistic. They’re just trying to make money, any means necessary.
Didn't they have a planet crusher before giving it to the foundation???. And trying to use a proverty stricken woman to see into the future with Andersons help.
I wouldn't call them harmless, they willingly sell Keter class anomalies to the highest bidder. The glove that could theoretically destroy the son was like the only thing they gave to the foundation.
That's like saying an arms dealer with no morals is benign. But sure.

Currently one of my favorite GOI's, and sure as hell one of the most realistic ones. I like how anomalies are just a form of making profit to them and they do not have some ridiculous world domination goal like the Chaos insurgency

That studying these things more thoroughly
And with refined singular purpose other than understanding for understanding sake
You could make a weapon that would end all of these things

Make these things work for you
And solve every other issue the world ever had.

And then youre put in a special task force
That has no purpose other than what you see is furthering your superiors agenda

And some aren't as virtuous as yours

I have to say i prefer these SCP formats a lot more than the short novel length ones. The containment procedures, The SCP description, and any interrogation/investigation etc logs. It feels more like an actual data entry log rather than the logs that start with 2 paragraphs of text to build intrigue or whatever. I also find that while the longer story like ones are good, the more clinical ones tend to be better written and are more interesting. The First AI one for example was an interesting concept, though simple, and had lots of interesting caveats and tidbits like it only working on XP and windows 7 and Auction.
