    Well done, Reza!
    I like how you've used CDS entity to demonstrate the deep-integration between Power Apps and Power BI. I'm also glad you pointed out that SharePoint isn't a Direct Query data source, however, you can use Power Automate flow to refresh the Power BI report.

    Reza, you're the best! Excellent demo! I think this integration is really awesome and it's a game-changer.
    Using Power BI as the main tool along with Power Apps integration only to perform CRUD, our apps are going to be much more analytical focused because Power BI is really powerful to perform complex calculations and build awesome data-driven visualizations....

    Raza, you're the MAN 😎
    So, it seems that for heavy duty PowerBI querying the real answer is CDS (or SQL server, which I believe in the long run will have less and less use of).
    My query is, what type of PA license do I need to achieve this PowerBI-CDS-PA integration? will a Microsoft 365 be enough? or do I need one of the standalone plans (per user/per app)?

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      CDS requires Power Apps premium licensing ( so does SQL ). Every user accessing the Power App would need the premium license.
      Also, for the PBI PA CDS combination, the user would also need a Power bi license

    Best tutorial as always! Just had one question :
    If I choose an existing app instead of creating a new one, will this existing app not interact with my Power BI filters and slicers? If no, how can I make it so that it interacts with the filters and slicers?
    Because I am having a pre built app which I just need to replicate for another Power BI report, and I don't want to create a new app from scratch. I just want to choose the existing pre built app and make sure it interacts with the Power BI slicers and filters.

    • @RezaDorrani

In my data verse that I am using to create my app to integrate with power bi. I have a choice option. In PowerBI it’s showing me the value instead of the name of the choice menu I selected. In power apps it shows me the name. What can I do to fix this? Thanks again for this video!

    • @RezaDorrani

      1 - Remove(data source name, ThisItem)
      2 - For choice columns in Power BI, you will have a name 2 fields for choice column, one which gives guid and other which gives name.

    Hi Reza Thanks for sharing an excellent video. The last part of the video explaining about data refresh for the sharepoint list using the Power automate/PowerBI data source refresh within the power apps was skipped quickly and was not clear for me. Can you please point to any of your videos or blog which explains it in more detail?

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not have any other supporting video or blog.
      SharePoint does not support direct query. Hence we can use flow to refresh the dataset however we are limited to how many refreshes we can make based on licensing. Video description has all the supporting links.

    Hi Raza, Thank you very much for the helpful video!!!
    Around min 19-21 in this video… in Screen2 / EditForm1 you setup Item = LookUp(Power_Devices,Name = Gallery1.Selected.crc05_name).
    Can you please explain the logic here? Why you have Name and at the end "crc05_name", i.e. specific data column name?
    Tried to reperform that step but don’t understand why you have Name = and if I put a specific data column from my data source (it’s a SharePoint List) I have error "Delegation warning. The highlighted part of this formula might not work correctly with column "Name" on large datasets".
    Any idea how to solve this? You have another video or article explaining this setting?

    I think you are not right when you say that the number of refresh will be limited at 33:50. The limit is only applied to schedule refresh (Pro = 8 refreshes per day for example) but not to On-demand refresh.
    I can read that on the microsoft website :
    "It is also important to call out that the shared-capacity limitation for daily refreshes applies to both scheduled refreshes and API refreshes combined. You can also trigger an on-demand refresh by selecting Refresh now in the dataset menu, as the following screenshot depicts. On-demand refreshes are not included in the refresh limitation."

    • @RezaDorrani
      @RezaDorrani  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's correct. I was referring to the fact that SharePoint does not support direct query so refreshing the visuals using PowerBIIntegration.Refresh() from Power Apps will not work in case of SharePoint and one will be limited to x number of refreshes per day . One would have to schedule the refreshes or use flow to do so.
