That 'Neverland, innocence...' operatic part is just the choir on the album, but Floor just started doing that live because she *could*. I still remember the first time I heard it back in 2012-ish. I knew she could because I knew what she was capable of from After Forever, but it still made me so happy. Her being in Nightwish still doesn't feel real to me because it's such a dream come true.

Floor had been with the band for 10 months prior to this concert. Shortly before the concert Tuomas knew he struck gold with her and they officially made her a member of the band. So this was her coming out show for most of, if not all, of that audience. The Valkyrie Goddess owned them all. The amazing thing is when you see her performances both with Nightwish and solo appearances...she never messes up, not once. Some claim she can’t be human and is indeed a goddess. Great reaction !
There was one show, I think it was 2018? Could be wrong. The clip was of Ghost Love Score and you could actually hear her struggling. The comments said she was very sick that night, which would totally explain it. She still nailed the last high notes though. Truly a pro.
Mystress1980 yes I seen that show. They played GLS as the closer which came right after TGSoE... so that’s two long, hard songs to end the show with. I heard Floor was sick but she pushed through and it sounded good. But yes I could see she was fighting to get through it.

Sometimes the mixing of the music is not that great, which make them sound not as good as in other concerts, there’s one in Brazil where you think that they’re not doing it that well, but people who were there say that they nailed it and it didn’t sound anything like in the video (it was way better live)
Wasn't the official member thing after this, together with Troy in begin October or so? I remember they wanted to wait till 2014, I think mainly because ReVamp had the 'wildcard' album coming out a week or so after this Wacken Show.
This was basiclly the introduction of Floor to the european audience. Wacken Open Air is huge.

One of my favorites! Probably the song I'm most familiar with the lyrics. It's a "heavy" song not just musically but the overall vibe is just intense.
And the Tampere version is def my favorite!
Floor was well known to many symphonic metal fans because she had two previous bands. After Forever and Revamp. It's like Axl Rose going to sing for AC/DC. Everyone knows the singer before they join, from something else.
There were also a lot of fans who never cared for Annette Olzen as a vocalist. I'm one, she could be a fine vocalist, but she doesn't have the chops for this genre. In anycase, a lot of fans were not sad to see her go.

G&T Reactions initially Floor was brought in to finish the US tour, see the video “ please learn the set list in 48 hours” that is posted around TH-cam. It was framed as a temporary solution to Annette being fired mid tour. No one was sure Floor would be the new permanent singer. By the end of that tour fans were bring signs to shows that said “please stay Floor”, and she did

@@GTReactions Haha well, she was the new face (voice) indeed; at the moment of this concert she wasn't even confirmed as the official new singer yet! Most people at that concert never heard her sing before this, live or otherwise.
Floor Jansen, the Dutch Valkyrie, is the best thing that happened to this band.
@@TheEFVG I already knew of Floor Jansen back in 2001 with After Forever. I'm on record stating when they lost Tarja, that I could only imagine 2 singers filing the void; Floor Jansen, or Simone Simons. Of course they got Annette. But then when I heard that they let go of Annette and had Floor temporarily touring with them I was like "temporarily"? Hire that woman! Later upon watching Wacken 2013 it only confirmed what I already knew would be true, how awesome she'd fit and perform.
@@demise0 Yeah, Annette isn't a bad singer, but she wasn't a good fit for their existing style. When they announced Floor, I was very happy since I was a big fan of After Forever and knew she'd kill it with them.
As you watch the various songs, you will see that Floor wore two different outfits during this concert. The outfit in this video, with the leather pants, was the first half of the show. The outfit with the skirt, as seen in the Ghost Love Score video, was worn the second half of the show.

I’m sure that a lot of people already knew her as she was already a well-known metal singer before she joined Nightwish. Also in 2002 she has toured Europe with her first band After Forever together with Nightwish as their support act so I’m sure a lot of NW fans aready knew her. Besides news travels fast and I’m sure that most of the fans had already seen some youtube smartphone footage of NW’s new singer 😉.

Many were probably very familiar with Floor because she had been on the scene about as long as Nightwish had been. She had even toured with them with her previous band, when Tarja was their singer. So they had known each other for many years.

Late to the party but I love seeing/hearing your reaction to the lyrics. Tuomas is amazing in his ability to both compose such beautifully intricate pieces and write the lyrics that go so much deeper than you hear on the radio.

At the Wacken festival 82.000 attended, but not all of them had heard Floor, in fact none, or only a few had attended other gigs (between Oct. 2012 and Aug 2013 Nightwish toured: USA, UK, Finland, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Autralia, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Finland, Switzerland, Finland, lebanon, Norway, Finland, Czech Republic ). There were no official recordings, just some hand-held phones at gigs on youtube. Word of mouth was clearly positive about Floor. In december 2012 in Buenos Aires the crowd chant "Floor, Floor, Floor" after GLS.Word had got round how good she was.
I have no doubts she won every single person over. She has won me over easily. Thank you for being here.
Ive seen Nightwish twice in England, also Tampere and Wacken. Floor is by far better than Tarja and Anette. Im 52 and still headbanging. Tuomas and Emppu lookin at each other sayin we fuckin got this, Floor is smashing it.
@@shannontaylor345 I refer Floor too. But Tarja and Annette are great singers too. Tarja is mainly limited to the Opera-style / Lower-Larynx stuff and Annette is poppy. Floor's been with the band for about a year IIRC when this was recorded, but she's been a professional singer since 2000 or some such, with After Forever and later ReVamp. She was a rather well known vocalist before Nightwish.

There are more good bands like: Delain, Eluveitie, Metalwings, Rage of Light, Walk in Darkness to name of few. But I have to admit Nightwish is my favourite band right now. For me personally it is even the best band I have heard since Queen. But on the other hand I have no illusions that I have heard all bands out there capable of making great music. For instance I only got to know Nightwish after Floor's participation on the Beste Zangers show last year. And they are around since 1996.
It's so neat watching someone else completely falling in love with Floor (and Nightwish) !!! We ALL have !

There's been a couple of reactors now that have reacted to the entire concert, either all at once or a couple songs at a time; it seems you can appreciate the performance even more when you watch it all in order. Ghost Love Score is powerful enough on it's own, but when you really comprehend how much the band had already done over the previous hour+ leading up to it, it's eye-opening...

Probably, very few of this crowd knew her as Nightwish... Marco introduces her to the crowd as a new face on stage at the start of the second song.. This was the final show of their 18 month world tour. She joined them with 10 months left to go, when their previous singer Annette could not continue.. Her previous band After Forever was inactive at the time, so Toumas called her, she flew out to meet up with them.. When she got there she had 48 hours to learn the set list prior to their next tour concert.
I am still amazed how she learned that whole set so fast. Thanks for being here

I had never really known about Floor alot prior to this show. Something tells me i must have seen her as really really young,but the "garageband" sound i heard threw me off,and i surely didnt recognize her,at least not at first. So when i saw this live concert,it was my first ever Floor concert in its full length,. Prior to this she had left her original band After Forever,and started her own in ReVamp. She really catches my eyes in theese bands,but as the striking beauty she is,but also that there lays such incredible talent there.....i guess i must have thought "she is too good for After Forever & ReVamp". Dont get me wrong,i LOVE to see her perform Disgraced with ReVamp at Graspop (2010 i think it was) 3 years prior to joining Nightwish permanently. I would love to have that entire concert in HD,and mostly because of Floor.....hey got to be honest lol. Dont get me wrong,ReVamp and After Forever isnt trashy bands by any means. But you can hear that the sound quality,the overall production screams "low budget bands". Maybe especially ReVamp,as they didnt have the experience that After Forever had. Both bands have talented musicians though. Im just happy that Floor accepted to join Nightwish when she did. She needed a band like them to get out her full potential. Nightwish is more organized,melodic,while for me the other 2 bands are more "trashing out garage metal". Im not hating on them,not one bit. I can enjoy some of theyr songs alot,it is just more difficult to enjoy them,as the song sometimes comes off "amateurish"..... But hey,i get it from a musicians side....you got to start somewhere,and build your way up,just like in most other professions. But thats why i tend to say.....imagine what Nightwishes albums wouldve sounded like,if everyone met eachother in theyr late late teens,early 20s? (Floor,Troy.....all of them) Woooooh! Earlier in my life,i was heavy into Metallica,Soundgarden,Nirvana,ZZ Top to name a few examples. And i was that heavy into them,i saw it as being disloyal to go chasing other bands....so maybe its all on my younger self....Nowadays,im all over the place! No limits baby!
I can see how Floor would impress anyone with any band. I think this journey into rock is teaching me so much more than I expected. Thank you for being here

I believe you really need a more quite one where it is not only Floor who is performing - so please react to Ever Dream - Wacken 2013.
It's a short one so you might start with their opening song - Dark chest of wonders, which is also short.
Just keep on your Nightwish journey together, you are in capable and safe hands, with the Nightwish Army.
Floor had her own career earlier with her own bands, After Forever and Rewamp - and believe me - she was one wild performer at that time too.
She actually brought her own stage and singing style with her, into Nightwish - and that was THE PERFECT MATCH. The limits disappeared and Tuomas could release all his thoughts in his compositions - and he did!! He actually challenged Floor on their latest album - and she loves it, while it forces her be an even better voice nerd. When you get to their new album, we will fill you in - it is fascinating evolution.
You might watch the video "learn the setlist in 48 hours" it is a documentary about the time where Anette left and Floor jumped in - during a world tour - in 48 hours. Floor got a phone call from Tuomas, while she was at her sisters wedding - and the rest is story. At that time Floor was recovering from a burn out, and hadn't been on a stage for almost two years.
It all in "learn the setlist in 48 hours" - including Empphu's first Floorgasm 🤣.

Thats a hard question, because she entered the band OFICIALLY in 2013, she replaced Anette in 2012 for that tour. But she played in a couple of bands before that and had also some side projects. If you want to know i can link some............................ask nicely though ;p

There seems to be a lot of confusion about this. Floor first performed with NW, taking over mid-tour and only having 48 hours to learn the set list. On 01 October 2012, in Seattle at the Showbox SoDo. I know because I was there. The Wacken 2013 performance took place little more then 10 months later on 03 August 2013. I hope that clears things up!

She said in an interview that was done the morning after a show, the interviewer asked how she is the morning after shows.. She said.. SORE and tired..

I did find it interesting that when not on tour her and her family (husband, daughter, animals, including horses)live way out in the middle of nowhere on a country farm in Sweden. She said, she loves it cause its the opposite of her touring life. It a beautiful place.. small house nothing "fancy" but looks very relaxing.. and built onto their garage is a music studio.. why live in a city when you could have that... Don't blame her at all. It's gotta be nuts doing 100 shows + a year

Dude, I really love your honest reactions to Nightwish. What makes it even better is that you consider yourself to be a hip-hop fan. In the end it all comes down to appreciate great music, the 'vibe' and the message. No matter what your background is. And I am saying this coming from a totally different musical background as well.

Floor is into fitness and working out.....note the upper arms and shoulders; plus, she has a fairly thick neck for a female.....she's 6-1 and 175 lbs in bare feet...she could play cornerback in the NFL......for earlier Floor, check out the bands After Forever, and ReVamp......

None of them. No one heard them with Floor before this. She was brand new to the band. This was before cell phone cameras were good. You'll notice no one in the audience was holding a cell phone. Floor was working her tail off to impress the Nightwish army. You can see it occasionally in the audience that people are unsure if they like "the new singer". But I'm sure they do after this. Floor does a lot of singing in this one that the previous singer (Annette) could not do. Like the high operatic notes that they usually got a boy choir to do.
I honestly think Floor is a Goddess. How else would she be able to do all she does ?!?! Thank you for being here
