First, look for iOS and carrier settings updates. Both can help improve your iPhone’s ability to connect to your wireless carrier’s network.
Second, check your iPhone’s Cellular settings and make sure Cellular Data and Voice Roaming are turned on.
Third, eject your SIM card and reinsert it. This will give your iPhone a second chance to reconnect to your carrier’s network. Note that your iPhone says No Service as soon as you pop the SIM card out, but it should reconnect shortly after.

Fourth, reset your iPhone’s network settings. This has the potential to fix a hidden software issue. If the reset doesn’t work, perform a DFU restore, which erases and reloads all of the code on your iPhone

There use to be a menu item for Carrier. After iOS 12 update it is gone. I need to swirch in between Carriers in order to get a good signal in my area. Any idea whee it has gone?
thanks so much. i find out what can usually happen sometimes is that if u have dropped ur phone the sim card moved a bit in its carrier which cause the no service.
Did all this. None of them worked. It says tfw for my carrier when i turn it on, then back to no service after a few seconds. never been able to make a call.
My iPhone SE was having issues like every time I got on the road it was constantly losing service and signal and if I had my GPS on for work it would lose service and I would lose GPS signal which would cause many problems I just updated my phone on the iOS I believe is the new one will see if that works
You guys are my personal hero! You're last suggestion worked (reset network settings) after all else failed!! I thought for sure I was screwed after removing SIM card was a fail.

I reset the network settings and it’s working again, but I have a defected model of iPhone 7, so how long until it takes away my service again? I don’t have any physical damage on mine, but I’m unsure if I should still send my phone in for repair because resetting network settings helped me regain service, but the model itself is defective so what will they replace?

When I take off my SIM card it doesn’t show “No SIM” on the top so I got a new SIM card and it’s still doing the same thing. Plz help. I did try activating the new SIM card but it’s not working. I also tried resting the settings but it only worked for an hour. Plzz helpp
i have done all these lots of times and they don’t always work for me. honestly my phone does have damage but even before the damage it would mess up and say searching then out of no where i would do one of these and it would fix. it hasn’t done it in a while but it just recently did it again. and i can’t fix it.
what about the modem baseband chip most of the times this component fails and needs replaced
those solutions work but the problem is i have to do them everyday because it loses signal many many times

but in my case 3G & 4G Network are work fine But problem is with 2G network..
when i switch to 2G mode its show no service,
Same sim card work in another iphone for 2G Network means SIM is Ok...
i cant cant connect to rhe internet-wifi i reset all the settiings and nothing and if will open the wifi after the phone close i have the iphone 8 plus

My phone is locked to a specific carrier from PH. Whenever I used the carriers sim - it says No Service even I'm near to a window. It only gives 1-2 cell reception but it only takes seconds before it disappears. I'm at ios 12.4
Thank you, I did every step you guys mentioned and now my phone has service! I think it may have been the network settings being reset. But also I'm pretty sure when i dropped my iphone 7 (and it cracked), that was when the no service issues occured. Crossing my fingers/ hoping it doesnt reoccur

My iPhone started "No Service while was out of town. Tried everything. No Service for two days. Came home, found your channel ad video. Hubby was on his way to Apple store. Told him to try taking SIM card out. He did, Service restored!! Thank you, Thank you!!! I love you guys !!

IOS 12.5.2 causes problems on my Iphone. It does not detect my SIM because it needs to install latest update. I tried to install it and when I verified it does not work because It says that I was not connected to network even though I am connected to network.
My decice has the problem no service when the screen is locked, and searching the network again when it unlocked. ☹️ I don’t know where to setting it. 😕

Sorry to those still searching for a solution. I tried every single step and finally taking out the SIM and putting it back in our iPhone 8+ seemed to do the trick. Be persistent and hang in there!! Btw we have Verizon, seems to be a common issue with iPhones on their service.

What do you do if Apple recalls your iPhone? I tried everything from force restart to DFU, nothing works. Shows 'No Service' and nothing beyond the 'Hello' screen.

I have error in mobile data, can’t able to enter it says error and need updated, then there’s no showing of cellular update when I enter to settings and about… I have tried all possible steps but still in searching and no service… please help.. my iOS is also updated but still not working

Mine went just blank..took it be repaired and was told it’s motherboard,then after motherboard was repaired they said its screen and charging system😢..after repairing all that i have a no service phone which need to be updated,it can’t connect to any wifi,flashlight not working,power off button not working,volume up and down not working..what could be the problem coz whoever was repairing it gave up long time ago?

I have 5s and have tried different carriers, T-Mobile and tracfone. Both times signal is one bar, my phone won’t ring when someone calls, won’t show missed calls, I can’t make calls (says call failed), and intermittently says no service. I feel like it’s a problem with this model of phone. I’ve tried all these options in the video but it didn’t help or matter😒 been on ongoing problem since I got the phone in 2014.

I just had this problem. Went to Tmobile they can’t find the problem. Went to apple and same thing. Found issues but cannot fixed it. Good thing phone is still under warranty and they replaced it with a new one.

the problem right off the bat is that with no service promt you cannot access the updates. all i can do is text through fb messenger if im on a friends wifi even with wifi calling enabled . text messages come in when im not near a wifi but my replies show as not delivered

My husbands iPhone 6 has been doing this for the past week. It comes back here and there, but never necessarily with these steps. Nothing consistently works! He has dropped his phone before, but it worked fine and it does come back and work fine as well and WiFi works. So what’s up? Is his phone damaged or is it ios12. I have the same phone and it’s updated to ios12 and knock on wood. Haven’t had any problems whatsoever. Please help. It’s so frustrating paying for it and can’t use it.

Mine ended up being a carrier issue - I just had to go do a minor update on their website. I was getting ready to visit Apple and let them send my phone in for repair! I'm so glad it wasn't that. Thank you for directing me to an easy fix.

Sir how to cellular restart
I went to the apple store and they said it has to be the SIM card because they put an at&t SIM card in and it came on for at&t! Then I took it to metro and they switched out 3 of their SIM card and it still said no service! We even called metro customer services act like they didn’t know what the problem was.... I seriously need help & it’s like no one can help me! I’ve had this phone with metro pcs since March.
