I think that MMod looks good and balanced with their weapons and also is having compatibility which is great. Other mods just don't focus at or they suck at this aspect.
@Ultimis yes, the MMod folders that you put in the sourcemods folder each already have a custom folder, so just dump your HL2 mods there and they will work with MMod

Personally, I played Half Life 2 Overcharge and I can honestly say that it is not balanced, but I had a lot of fun playing it more than once, I went through it even on the hardest difficulty level available in advanced options, it was an interesting experience.
SMOD Redux is nostalgia as it was one of the first mods I played for Half-Life 2. Also, don't forget Half-Life 2 Substance. It adds classes from Tom Clancy and Splinter Cell to the game I think and delivers quite well as you can change your loadouts/class at any time during the campaign.
It seems like it will support any compatibility you want. I think it will make it easy for any modder to do anything they want which I love the sound of!

speaking about bowl of soy from smod:redux... you use it to heal yourself. You can come to a corner, throw some, and eat each piece of it, which will give you 1 hp. It's basically an infinite health station, and you can go above 100 hp with it.
Actually i am playing cinematic mod after your video and it's great - environments look great, models look great (i use updated vanilla style Alyx), installed Entropy Zero 2 animations too which makes this combination a perfect remaster (i already sense the hate tornado of cinematic mod heading this way)

That's actually a major reason why people combined MMod and Cinematic Mod. People liked the maps from Cinematic mod but wanted to combine it with the extremely high quality updates of MMod.

MMod is easily the best remaster mod, and pairing it with CMM (it automatically removes *that* content) Its a nice change of pace for those who've played half life 2 for days on end!!
I kinda wish most mods took the Fallout 3 and New Vegas approach to remasters for those kinds of mods. In other words, sound effect updates without altering icon ones if they don't sound too jarring next to the audio, upscaling textures and models by hand or using AI to help but correcting mistakes made by it, and providing unofficial patches. In addition, providing alternative options. That is the best mod remaster to me for a game. Forced ambient occlusion, exaggerated bloom, and GPU-intense detailed shadows and reflections should be 100% optional. Lastly, performance optimizations are king to all more people to experience what you enjoy. Although, most modern laptops should be able to run Half-Life 2 (as well as Half-Life 2 Update, which is a light remaster and fixes some nasty glitches and bugs).
While I don't mind SMod and Overcharged,They are a bit too over stimulating for me EVEN if you mess around with the settings. Some things,weapons and enemy placements are just added just for the sake of it and they all feel like "More = Good" or "Quantity over Quality" and most are just left it as it is without properly tweaking,balancing and putting much thought and care into it. They feel like let's say for example, Cursed Halo but poorly done ya know ? Plus i've kinda lost all respect for the Creator behind Overcharged mod,Dude got all kinds of red flags,got a bad history of making mods and come as an absolute prick in his discord server where he only listens to delusional people who are nice to him while blacklisting,banning/kicking people out for simply making criticism and only wanted what's best for the mod.NoClip and Radiation Hazard made a good analysis on it. I'd just personally stick with MMod tbh,That mod is pure quality AND the creator is a legit mod creator who worked his arse out during a fricking war and didn't ask for anything in return.
Smod Redux feels like some teenager wanted to play Postal 2, but could only get as graphic as HL2 before his parents wouldn't buy them, so he learned to mod and went ham 🤣
I'd personally rather play Cinematic Mod over Overcharged because Cinematic Mod is can actually be completed without consistent crashes on almost half of the level transitions. MMOD is definitely the best "vanilla-style" experience, imo.
Any reason why my Mmod doesn't have the same ironsights as yours? If I ironsight with the USP it just zooms in my view instead of actually moving to the ironsights like your version.

Overcharged is horrible. Whoever created it just decided to put a massive amount of enemies on the maps as if he was playing gm9d sandbox and called it a day
Overcharged gets rightfully hated a lot but I also think with some work it can be interesting and fun! Having 10000 settings really wasn‘t a good choice, but I think with the settings like I configured them in the video it can be enjoyed! :P

Anyway actually, proper real TOP 3 famous Remaster of HL2, is: 1)MMOD. (By creator of SMOD. He even wrote - "MMOD - is a remaster") 2)Overcharged. (Russian attempt into HL2 Remaster) 3)Fake Factory's Cinematic MOD. Yea, that one. And also - Valve did kinda remaster too, which was a "HL2: Update" - which is somewhat a official HL2 Remaster. Same goes for Original HL1: 1)HL1 MMOD (By same japanese dev) 2)HL1 HD Texture Pack (Somewhat a Remaster) And some other - not properly know remaster.
