I easily came up with another story. Mega mind is distraught at how he can’t live up to metro man and an evil arises that he created for good but it turned evil instead. Like some sort of metro man AI that is a place holder for metro man because he is worried he might mess up his new reputation. but he realizes in the fight that him just being himself is the best and imitating someone else just creates more problems than good. The lore isn’t messed up that way and it teaches a good lesson.
