- I return to Pattaya after visiting a couple fruit farms out in the country with a truck load of the most precious fruit in Thailand. I discuss the agricultural elements of the King of Fruit and then begin giving the special harvest to some lucky ladies in Pattaya.

The Durian brought back an old memory. Many years ago when I first went to Thailand I met a friend who told me "durian, smells like hell, but tastes like heaven." Nice to see you are still following Vee bringing smiles to those who have not when you have enough. Stay safe and enjoy living!!!

I'm Laos and in Laos culture they have to move on because they do not want spirits to linger around. In Laos culture it is best for both the living and deceased to move on. The energy becomes better. Maybe some cultures feel differently.
The first time I tasted durian was in Brunei 1985. I was hooked. My wife is reluctant to give it to me if I've had a beer. It has some nasty repercussions so she says? Good to see you're getting about. After my same experience I was offered a job abroad. The best thing I did. But even after 40 years and married again for over thirty, I still miss her. You never forget. But move on and live your life. Keep the videos coming.

Now I understand when I was talking with an Isaan Bar girl and she mentioned that her parents said they could pay for her to go to Business School.
When the Durian trees are a bit older... That was in 2019 and YES she went to school and now owns her own business.👍🏻

Great video Lucas. Here in Florida we experience the same phenomena with oranges. It’s grown just miles away but it’s expensive because it’s exported. No local discounts for sure.
I love mangosteen but i learned an IMPORTANT lesson. First time i ate it i was so enthralled that i are the entire kilo+ in one afternoon by myself. Let’s just say i didn’t have any problems with “regularity” the rest of the day.
That ganja shirt is awesome. I think i saw you wearing that same shirt when you made a surprise cameo on another vloggers video. Always great to see you enjoying yourself. 🙂

You are a good man Charlie Brown such a simple gesture of sharing with people bring such a smile And they will never forget. I had an incredible house on 1/3 acre with a huge avocado tree orange, persimmon, nectarine and white fig that I would share with my Thai friends at the temple and viet hairdressers and you would have thought I was giving them gold! Mrs. R and I were having a few Sangsom-Cokes with some friendly ladies on Soi Honey a few years ago in August and a durian seller came past so we bought a big 'un and shared it out. Delicious banana custard fruit 😋. Great experience. Lots of smiling faces 😊. +1

I grew up in the west where saying goes "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach". That's turned upside down in Thailand.
Nice gesture, seeing durian is so expensive. It should be for Thai people.
I can eat some Durian ice cream or young durian from off my friend family farm in KhuKhan, Sisaket something about the volcanic soil...

Nice film. With all that Durian, those Pattaya ladies could smell you from a mile away. Either that or it was the cash in your pocket and your hansum man looks 😀 About your old passport, you should keep that handy as land transport will want to see it when you renew your driving licences.

As a working man for a few more years you are loving the dream. There is nothing I would like more than to drive a motorcycle to the fruit farms and bring back to friends. I’m not getting younger, but I would really love to climb up that tree and cut some durians down. You are living the dream

I assume you were talking price when taking the fruit off the tree. After you account for the thick, heavy outer layer, and the seeds, the price is much, much higher.

I first had Durian in Singapore in the late 70's. It was sold in a market out of town due to the smell. The only fruit not available in any hotel or restaurant. Taste is wonderful but impossible to eat too much and impossible to get anyone to kiss you after after you have eaten some!
Try it cold, right out of the freezer. It seems to mitigate some of the smell.

Departure card? Hope it didn't come back lately. Or is it that if you have one you have to transfer it to a new one? Probably so. One of the highlights of flying in to Thailand early january 2023 was to discover that there was no departure card to deal with or lose during the stay 🙂
I was on a farm in Chantaburi near the waterfall, what I will never forget is the incredible amount of angry mosquitoes. 😂
I'm told that a lot of Thai farmers are now trying to expand their crop to include durian (because of the selling price) but the plants are expensive and very few of them survive the transplant.
So buying/planting 100 plants usually end up with less than 30 and can result in less than 10 surviving, whilst those survivors will have required a lot of tending for the 5 years with no return.
Yeah sounds like a risk vs reward scenario, plus they need constant water.

The durian is cultivated in Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and southern Thailand and is seldom exported. Although the durian has a mild sweet flavour, it also has a pungent odour, which has been compared to that of Limburger cheese; for this reason, the fruit is banned from public transportation in some places. The custardlike pulp can be eaten at various stages of ripeness and is used in a variety of sweet and savory dishes. The seeds may also be eaten if roasted - - - when the description is : "BANNED FROM PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION " , ya know its a money shot

When you renew a US passport outside the US you get the larger 52 page passport automatically. They started doing then when they stopped adding pages to passports.
