I have to do at least 90% of my catfishing from a boat. Simply because there are very few shore fishing spots, and they get hammered pretty good. I have just a couple spots that produce in Spring and Fall. Otherwise in the Summer I have to jump in the boat and fish the snags and deep pools. Awesome to see someone having the opportunity to fish the banks from so many places. I prefer to bank fish personally. It's much more relaxing.
I used to have a boat, sold it because it's too much of a pain. I put in a lot of time and work to find bank fishing spots that the average Joe isn't willing to venture to.
@@OutsidewithTomyeah catfishing is getting huge these days and they getting pounded on pretty hard... that's what I do is take off walking to spots people are not willing to work for and it pays off more than not if you're willing to work for them
@Lanny-io9bi What I do now is load my kayak up with bank gear and paddle to spots where I know no other bank fisherman will be. It also helps that I use my fish finder on the way to secluded bank spots.
Been skunked so many times in the past couple years. Got skunked yesterday and the lake I was fishing was stocked 2 days prior. Too many people in So Cal.
Good catches man. Perfect size for top quality groceries. It pains me to watch people chop up a 50 pounder, because the big ones keep the population in check.
@@OutsidewithTom you and me both. I Just went out and caught some nice pre spawn channel cats and a couple nice carps. I go weekly minimum and multiple times a week usually. My favorite is catfishing and it's warmed up here were i live and now the bite is on. Caught my first cat fish at 7 years old and it was a big channel cat and I was immediately hooked and Been hooked since and been having a blast the last 27 years. Cat Fishing and fishing in general is what I live for. There are allot of fishing TH-cam channel's, but I like yours cause it's down to business and not a bunch of bull shit. Look forward to your future videos. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Sounds like you're off to a good start this year. I grew up catfishing with my Dad and brothers on the small river near our home, that's what got me started. Glad you like my videos, and I appreciate you watching and commenting.
@@OutsidewithTom right on, yeah my grandpa got my dad into it and then me when i was young. Unfortunately I'm the only one still doing it in my family, so I usually just fish alone. But it's not so bad, don't have to worry about someone else or baby sit someone if your fishing with a beginner. Happy fishing brother, fish on 🎣

Love that your videos are about business. Fishing is the business.
My favorite business. 👍

Aww that frog is so cute!!
Haha, if you say so! :)
Thanks 👋👋👍
Great video Tom always entertaining!
Thanks Slayermike!
Nice job dude! Good to see catfish #s are up in the river. FYI - frogs rarely escape a pellet gun : )
Haha! :)
Glad you broke your skunk..I've been skunked lately too..I like to say I'm good at fishing but suck at catching them lol..cool video
Hahahha, same here. Thanks Ed!
😂😅 all that struggle in half hour! It probably was the beginning of spring...
Yall have the best bids
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks.
Fishing is fishing not about catching but being on the water
Very true. Thanks Karl!
Have you had trouble with your Ugly Stik guides wearing a groove. My last 3 rods suffered rapid wear.
My Ugly Stik rods have all metal line guides, so line wear on the guides is not an issue.
It used to be against the law to fish with frogs where I am but they were are a pretty good bait
I'd use them more often but they're pretty hard to catch.😀
Skunked, BTDT
More times than I can count. 😁
