And just a quick addition for others here, I am in the process of designing this but also with GH Live functionality. I will still have to wait for a certain firmware to release to help make that happen, but the physical design and electronics is already in the works.

Seeing how you explained the H pattern in 5:15 was really interesting! An overview of common techniques and patterns on high level songs would be cool for people that don't know how the h*ll top players play such complex songs
It would be cool if this could be made “legal” by disabling the sixth fret and top row. That way the audience would still get a light show on the top frets.
I mean if legal was what I was aiming for then I probably wouldn’t have even put frets up there at all lol. If it was only an input viewer I was wanting I’d probably just make it a semi-transparent window.
Or just use an input viewer on screen because it wouldnt be blocked by their hands lol.
I love how when the guitar was first shown to the world with the Synthetic Verse video everyone was so confused, and even more so with the 24-fret

why not just make a different categories of FCs based on input device

- 12 Fret (This guitar, unrestricted)
@@Thesnakerox I plan on going even more cursed by adding more strum frets, but horizontally and more spaced apart. I have found you can slide on these frets better horizontally than vertically, and with like 4 or 5 horizontal strum frets... I will have too much power lol. I'll still probably keep the two that are next to the normal five though close by at the ready if I need elbow strums or something.

For the “holding awkwardness” comment near the end:
they do these metal-attachment-guitar-support thingys that’re made for playing a “flying v” guitar when you are sitting down (I’m drunk but you could probably google the name) and I can imagine you could EASILY make a version for this CH guitar
Potentially easy solution to the "sweaty position" thing: make the guitar slightly larger and put a groove at the bottom so that it kinda conforms into the leg a little bit

This layout could work if you offset one row by half a button... and slimmed down the neck... and made the buttons interlocking wedges shaped like guitar pics... and reduced the button count to 9.

Honestly though, as someone who broke the hell out of my shoulder 6 months back, a shortened guitar like that which works in more of an upright bass position sounds cool.
Also back in the GH days I mostly played on my World Tour caster and once the strum bar broke I started tapping the slider bar with my middle and ring finger to strum and I actually found that a more effective way to play for me.
It’s literally almost like a model of a Double-neck Guitar but attached.
Tech teaching streams sound like an awesome idea - a lot of it flies over my head bc of weird or nonexistent views so a visual aid like that guitar would really help
Some tech streams with this thing as the example would be perfect, the LEDs lighting up on both rows helps massively to convey the information.

What I think could be a cool addition to this is setting it up with a switch to turn it into a 6-fret GH live controller with 2 sets of buttons
I wonder if controllers like this would be more accessible for people with with some sorts of disabilities for casual play, especially being able to strum up next to the frets might def be good for that.

Oh god, when I played Keyboard CH, I strummed with index and ring finger... and the way I did it would work PERFECT on those strum frets, i need one of these. I would never touch the strum bar again

now make a mod for clone hero that allows for 12 & 24 button inputs so that they can be registered as separate notes, or make another guitar that just buttons up the entire neck
