- Title is not clickbait. Our run is the fastest verified run on speedrun.com despite being duo because of the reasons below.
This run is far from optimized--we had two days worth of runs before the Fallen Shield skip was patched. Due to the patch, this run will unfortunately never be beaten. Within the time that people were running with the shield skip, we achieved the fastest time despite being a duo (the only team running trio got an 8:04).
FAQ:
How is this considered a speedrun when you glitch through the map and change characters?
This is a verified speedrun on speedrun.com. By default, Destiny 2 speedruns are all considered any%, meaning any technique can be used to complete an activity as fast as possible. This includes out of bounds, glitches, and exploits, within reason (some things are still banned such as the drop box glitch). If people actually had interest in an in-bounds category, they'd run it and open that category on speedrun.com, but no one does that because any% is the most fun and usually most impressive. The point of a speedrun is to complete something as fast as possible, so why would we limit ourselves when those options are on the table?
Why do you run Mountaintop?
It's a lightweight weapon so I get a sprint speed bonus while holding it out, and it's used to kill myself to pull to ogre later in the run.
Why do you drop your light level?
I drop my light so Mountaintop can 1 shot kill me.
How do you kill the ogre so fast?
The titan uses a 1-2 Punch shotgun with Code of the Devastator (hammers), Tractor Cannon, and Wormgod Caress. I use stasis super because melees do 2.3x the damage to frozen targets.
What happened during the sparrow sections?
My mouse was bugging causing multiple misinputs. I also flew past the mine because my sparrow wouldn't pull out (I'm bad).
How does the Fallen Shield skip work?
Basically there is a vandal tied to the health of the Fallen Shield (similar to first encounter DSC). This vandal is located in a box outside of the map. By throwing a squall at the box, the vandal dies and the encounter completes.

I've recently gotten into endgame PvE stuff after being a PvP main for years and I'm still struggling to solo literally anything. Watching this somehow gives me hope. If someone can achieve this level of mastery surely I can solo one measly dungeon with a build served to me on a silver platter. Keep up the insane work man. You earned my sub
I believe in you :) Soloing dungeons is all about patience. Put in the time and effort and you’ll be able to do it. Good luck!
For this dungeon I just recommend playing your life at all costs, if you need to do another damage phase because of it so be it
Try soloing legend lost sectors. It's a good practice. If you want, try even flawless.
This dungeon is mostly about being able to manage and pace a few things properly. Patience is key and as you keep trying you'll get more practice. Focus on protecting yourself - watch your health, cover positions, etc. It's a good idea to keep atleast some piece of cover visible on your screen too, so you can quickly spot and duck behind it. Kinda like how one would position themselves to peak-shoot in crucible.
Same here. I thought I was going to always be a PVP guy and endgame PVE was just way too complicated and difficult, but I've also started to really get into it. I am currently recording my Master Lost Sector runs hoping to go flawless. If you put your mind to it, you can do it dude!

@@colinweingart528 if you search up "Titan hammer build" with thumbnails that say "1,000,000, DPS?" That will explain everything. Plus the warlock was using stasis just so could help double all of that.
@@colinweingart528 some build along the lines of 1-2 punch shotgun with middle tree sun breaker. A bunch of de buffs and buffs are involved. It’s actually quite simple if you can get the set up down. But yeah search up a video like mista said above, they’ll explain better than we can
@@ethanhensley9355 exactly, but it's based on titan solar middle tree, one-two punch shotgun perk (increases melee damage after hitting an enemy with every pellet like 200% or 300%, and elemental wells
@@justme2296 yeah it’s 300 percent and 900 percent with synthoceps. But I don’t believe the elemental well mods do anything except spawn wells with the melee, with melee wellmaker

As incredible as this run was I definitely noticed a few scuffs that could shave off even more time, the biggest being on the mine run where you had to turn around. Excited to see sun 7 mins lol
Unlikely since the fallen shield encounter bug has already been patched; can't see anyone shaving off minutes elsewhere to make up for that
We were planning on running for 7:2x or 7:1x but we only had about a week of attempts until servitor skip was patched. This was just our first complete run with all the new strats incorporated.

@@aservi4013 when you run synthoceps, middle tree titan, tractor cannon and a one two punch shotty you can fucking melt bosses i think thats what they used here. you stack roaring flames with the hammer or grenades, then go tractor, one two punch shotty, and melee and its crazy

To those complaining. Any% is the only category any Destiny player cares about. The only thing that matters is mission complete. It doesn't matter how you get it to pop up. The only time people don't like "Glitches" is during world's first races. If the final boss is killed by a team of six hammer titans using this strat and they get world's first then yeah go crazy. But not this.

There's not many glitchless categories in destiny because no one finds those fun to run

i honestly envy anyone who can pull off the hammer titan jank. if i had the expansions on PC, i'd try, but when i imagine trying to do it on my native console with controller, it just feels so... clunky. like just imagining trying to map it out in my head gives me a sense of dread. it's probably just a simple matter of spamming buttons in a routine order, but even though i've used controller for as long as i've had at least one console in my home, i just don't have the fine motor control in my hands. well played, though. well played indeed.
For me all I did on xbox was unbind my normal melee and only have my charged melee bound to RB/R1 it makes it significantly easier to manage.

Hope they find another way to skip the servitor room. Actually the only thing stoppingg me from playing the dungeon. Such a bad way to do things. Every dungeon has a room made just so u waste time and think the dungeon is big
There's a way to do it through IRB but it's not really practical to do. And yea same, servitor encounter is actually insufferable

@@KayronTho it's literally the best and most fun loadout for playing solo (although I would swap out wormgods for synthoceps just so you don't have to worry about keeping the buff up ALL the time). You mop the floor with literally any ad whether it be majors, champions, or even raid bosses in some parts. Highly recommend trying it out

I was wanting to know, what do you run for your Titan and what weapons are you using? I had just run a duo GoA with my brother the other night and we spent about an hour and a half on the final boss, getting it to a quarter health, and then I forgot I was burdened with riches and my brother had just died, ending the run for the night.
I was running hammers with 1-2 punch and synthos. Unfortunately this run was set 2 seasons ago and hammer have been nerfed since so it’s not replicable.

What’s the throwing hammers DPS strat?
Patched quickly after this video but throwing hammers, in specific circumstances, would somehow stick inside the body of an enemy, and bounce around, doing constant damage, up to 23 times I believe.
