Synth meets Effects Episode 1: Casio VZ 10M (featuring Boss, EHX, DOD and Elektron effects)

So here's the first one of a new video series! We listen to some of my favourite synth patches, first dry and then through some nice analog (and digital) effects. A kind of a synth and effects demo. I chose the VZ-10M for this first video as it isn’t a very well-known synth but of course more synths will follow. The signal chain is synth out to Tascam LM-8ST line mixer to effects chain to Focusrite Scarlett 18i20. Recorded on Cubase 10.

Thank you for doing this demo with the VZ-10M. I've been a Casio Junkie ever since the 80s when this synth was first introduced. I have that rack mount, AND the keyboard version, as well as an FZ-1, a VZ-8M (and the guitar it was designed to go with), and an AZ-1 controller. I've kept up with the brand over the past several years and have just about all their new synthesizers too. Thank you for including them in your videos. I consider them to be the most under rated keyboards every made.

Excellent demo for an excellent synth. I STILL enjoy your old demo from 2012 too! I put one of my own up somewhere that demonstrates the VZ being processed by a XWP1 and into a tube bass amp. The VZ sounds great through old amps!

No idea if any sound layers were used here in these examples...but basically the VZ-10M is an 8-part multi-timbral synthesizer with 16-voice polyphony.
