    I live near a sawmill and they heaping load my pickups or trailers for $10 with once shred of oak or walnut, generally. It turns to black gold within 2-3 years and I don't have to mow during that time. My fruit trees and dogs love it and it helps with rain runoff to my neighbors.

    A Full size truck can carry that easy. I have an F-250 Crew Cab with a short bed. I added two 500 pound support springs($69 Kit) to my rear axle and carry two yards of gravel or two yards of sand all the time. I added the coil springs because I wanted a little more support to assist my leaf springs. I used my truck to transport ten yards of gravel and four yards of sands when recently installing a 32 foot galvanized culvert. I would have ordered 18 yards of gravel, but the culvert was not installed yet and had no way for the dump truck to get on the property. Now the culvert is finished, we can get on with installing our driveway and clearing a paddock area for camping while working on the property.
    Very good video guys, and very informative.

      Putting 4500lbs of weight in the bed of a 3/4 ton truck is not that bright.

    • @fla-bushcraftprepper941
      @fla-bushcraftprepper941 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tyler MacConnell maybe not bright for you to do. Adding the Support springs makes the difference for my truck and your fear of doing something that is totally safe when done by someone who knows what they are doing, means it is completely fine for them. I have been driving trucks most of my life. With the two yards of aggregate and all my tools, the tires do not bag or sag and its not bottoming out on the axle, in fact the new added coil springs are barely touching. I and other guys in my town do this all the time for decades and decades and never a story about someone having an issue. Some use air support systems, some leaf-spring add on's and some coil springs like I used.

      Wayne Bishop if you have your own truck just buy it by the cubic yard, unload the first one and see where youre at. You can really only fit one yard at a time in a regular pickup truck bed. Maybe 2 if your loader is skilled, you probably lose some on the drive home though.

    1 cubic yard isnt much, i get ten yard loads dumped here all the time and they give me great size loads, but ten yards doesnt go very far! Very honest video, even tells you they have damaged customer vehicles loading before! But like he said they have loaded 1000's, its bound to happen with humans! At least they only load you with a 1 yard bucket. The yard here uses a massive bucket, gotta be at least 5 yards, they fill the bucket, slowly tilt it until your 1 or 2 yard load is dumped. Imagine if they accidently dumped the load too fast, joystick stuck... etc, the whole 5 yards of gravel could really do some damage being dropped into a 1/2 ton

Don't risk being generous by giving extra to anyone or else they'll say you shorted them the next time. I try & reason that a cubic yard is a real measurement, 3' cubed, duh.

    OUTSTANDING! 50' away when he loads the truck! No seriously thank you its one thing to talk dimensions but its difficult to understand 3'x3'x3' or 3 1'x1'x1' cubs stacked next to each other, most people understand the size of a pickup bed if you would have said it was a short bed or long bed truck or full size truck or mini truck but combined with the tarp that seals the deal. The tarp would represent what it would look like on your driveway in a pile.
    Now what more help would be how many yards would it take to lay down on a 1500 CF lawn 1/2" thick or lets say a 10,000 cf lawn A dump truck load might just be the way to go, if you get too much you can store the extra until next season in your compost pile. Why risk damage to your truck? Well if that's the way you think Why buy a truck? Go buy a car they get better gas milage. Trucks are made to move hual and tote items around its not a cadillac.
    If you drive a truck to an office every day to park and work inside your destroying the planet for no good reason trucks are no safer than cars are.

    • @staticfive
      @staticfive 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Believe so--the truck in the video looks to have a 6 foot bed as well. In any case, you can do 27 / (6 * Width of your truck bed) to find out how high the mulch will be. Assuming 4' width or so, it should be 1.125 feet high. So not a problem.
