It becomes much more difficult when mental diseases come into play.
An excuse maybe. But when you're in love you can't blame them for making sure they can say they did everything possible.
People feel different. Different bodies, chemicals, souls.
Meeting one who has n gone through matters not when looking at individuals.
Bitter and resentment for some are only a short period of time of the process for others.
Normally one gets bitter from pain.
Some just are bitter for a bit cuz they know who they are capable of being and that its the only way to live a life where your own love for others wont end you.
One thing that breaks the rules is a monster going straight.
The reason for this is because that monster still resides n them.
Normally when someone goes straight goes back to being a monster it ends them.
They usually spiral into insanity further because the duality conflicts their ability to act.
This world would rather tell u that ur lazy, ur less, ur doing something stupid.
The biggest failure of men.
Is never learning to hold a friendly hand out to a bastard.
Its too tempting to prey on instead.

See you cant hurt people behind the scenes on your own pioneer justice and then use morality as the reason.

I'm an overly agreeable person, but I'm working on it. Very recently, I find out that a friend of mine will definitely get kicked out of university if he doesn't hand in his thesis, after having failed to 4 times already. I've always been really nice to him, but I had to give him a tough talk (compassionate, yet stern). He's always had absurd excuses for his lack of delivery of important things. I straight up told him that he had built a prison for himself, and he's gonna have to crawl through the shit pipe like the main character in Shawshank Redemption. I've been messed up too, but a good friend doesn't cheer you on and placate you when you're making terrible decisions.

Haha I get what you mean. I don't find sarcasm to be a lower form of wit. If you can make someone laugh in spite of pain and the horrors of the world, you give them a little vacation even for just a few seconds. Laughter is important, but never be a "yes man" to someone else's terrible decisions. Cheer them up, but don't cheer them on when they're hurting themselves.
I've been in that situation the whole time too... Nobody to talk to though

You are correct and to see that your friend is struggling you do what any good friend would do. You help them see what they're doing and then, you also extend your arm towards them as to guide them back to their goal.
Whenever I hear about another celebrity fall from a self destructive death spiral, I look at their lives and I often discover that they never had anyone in their lives who loved them enough to say “No”.

Absolutely right. If you love someone you tell them the truth. You want them to be their best selves at the risk of them getting hurt or angry with you.Would you want to f*** up your life because you trusted and needed people to help you out and be honest about something and they weren’t so you failed at something big? Sometimes people need others to mirror themselves back to them because they can’t see what others do. You especially need to be this way with your own children. You’re doing them a disservice if you’re not.

Some days I'm bitter, other days resentful and victimized. I recognize my downward spiral rather quickly and recognize gratitude. It wasn't always this quick turnaround. I didn't know I could just change my mind and not ride until the wheels came off.

In a situation , everybody went against me , even my children...i went down to a dark place , because i felt from the gut , that i was right...
I started listening to Peterson, and i understood, that i was right...
My own sister is a devouring Mother, and when i was down she went for my children...one of them is now " her son "

I'm an extremely critical person, I want the best, and I see how to get there too. I put myself to the highest standard and I don't shy away from being honest with others. If they don't like my honesty, they dont want to improve so I dont need them. Pretty simple.

If someone is self destructive, what most of us are, mostly even unaware of it, love means to understand and love that person anyway. But we all need to let it be, because some kill themselves because they dont see anything in this world to live for, whats really sad and not only the individual fault. Some overcome, some dont. The reasons why someone can and another couldnt are endless. Healing takes Time, or no time at all. Its just sometimes a long journey or a miracle....or whatever it may be, we all have limits, till we havent. Death is simply not the end.

Yes thats what I tried to say to family members who at different times were doing some scary self-destructive things. I addressed it because of I love for them, but they just blew me off telling me to mind my own business. Well each one (5) have died last 18 yrs due to their negligent destructive behavior. My heart is broken. So much mental illness in my family. Its still happening and now Ive just distanced from family. I cannot let it destroy me too.

But for sure you are right in one thing, mostly we cant help others and even ourselfs in this limited existance. But factors wich i said where asked in pray and in The Name and Glory of our Heavenly Father true Creator, Holy Spirit coming to help and it is done. We all are connected with same light, just reduce ego and be aware its limited exsistance where we need eternal help. Our true syntesiss for mind, spirit is our Heavenly Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Being honest to people all my life. They don’t like that 😂 Once I care about someone I authentically do so and once I stop that’s for ever.
It's a huge die man. I know both type of people. Both go through freaking hell. Some come out of that saying "whew glad that's over" smile and have a drink. And then there's others that go on re-living that hell they went through until they die day after day after day, they just can't let go.
I try very hard not to be bitter and resentful. It seeps through plenty, but one day I will bury it and it won't be able to dig out.
Thank you Dr. Peterson I refuse to remain quiet to bitter resentful people. I felt my way through anger, if I can anyone can no judgment it was awful made my way through bitterness resentment. Thankfully 🙏🏻

Sir, ... Love is never the problem. Some people are insecure because of their own inadequacies. Some are simply fearful that they might lose someone they are strongly attached to. Never able to wholly love themselves without worrying about losing another. So, ... Love when you're ready not when you're Lonely 😊.

So on point💯💓... But if the person chooses self-destruction, it won't be by My side. It's very selfish of the self-destructive person to continue in their poor choices in life and their refusal to grow and make progress because their behavior will sooner or later cause the partner to lose hope, possibly losing sobriety of 22+ years, and when all is said said and done, they end up breaking your heart anyway by totally immature conversations that always lead our relationship into a dead end street.
Yes up to an point of an idea, but this this a incomplete thought. If you love someone you take the extra time to understand what and how much they can take, you start small with " your truth " ( which is your value, judgement, be humble) . Make the effort with someone you love to beyond reason, so that when you introduce the truth, you've autally put in the extra work and suffered to tell them the truth. It's not a one two punch, IF you love them, its like a 10 step process, don't "say" the ( your understanding not Gods ,understanding of) truth , you Don't say the truth, you " Show" the truth in yourself and in other ways first. Don't be always to direct.
I always regret when I'm to direct, because I just sound cruel, and then the person doesn't usually get better, Like I'm sounding stupid now .
You Dr Peterson are so kind and active these days , very kind, , I'm so happy for people that you've here, So I think you're doing amazing, but continuing , Something usually that sounds the most simple logically are the most complex and heart wrenching.
I can think of no worst pain , except for a stong deliberately physical pain in myself, than watching someone I love doing something stupid thats hurting them , its a pain that flip between the head and the stomach, a mental pain that is terrible, because you can't interfere to much with a loved ones freedom, its almost impossible to get loved ones back on a good path for them ( its like a journey through hell for another person,) and then only maybe they are OK , it's not always a very logical problem its multidimensional, Love is a never ending discussion,
