FISCHKOPP Model Company make the Kotare - specific aftermarket resin engines & gunbays.

I've suggested that they might want to look at a set to convert the Mk.I into a PR Mk.IG.

I've used the new AK Real Colors acrylic pens for some of a 1:48 pilot figure - really useful and quick; and also a superfine Pigma Micron pen for dotting the eyes. I've found a wet palette better for detail painting. I'm looking forward to Kotare's Mk.Vb to do a Malta based aircraft.

Welcome back. I gently press cooking foil or cling film into the pallets. Just throw away when done, so avoiding any domestic disputes!

@@johnbrewer6330 Thanks for the tip John, - my new cleaning system hasn’t been popular on the domestic front! 🫢

Great to have you back. I really like your figure work for the Mosquito. I have recently taken up figure painting also. a very experienced figure painter recommended me to get Windsor & Newton Series 7 No 1 brush. It’s really superb and brush tip is incredibly fine. Also brushed by Anyz are great for very fine work but I believe I can get the everything done with the W&N brush that I got. cheers.

The Spit looks lovely. The heritage of the Kotare team can be clearly seen in the instructions!

I use a silicone fidget popper as a pallet. The paints can be easily removed when dry. I don't have a dishwaher, but I do use acrylics

Do like the artwork of South African artist Daryll Legg. Well done Pete, yes we need the Douglas Bader figure.

I remember watching Reach for the Sky as a kid many years ago. I see it’s here on YT so I’m going to cozy up by the fire and watch it again with a nice pint or two in hand. Cheers Peter 🍻 plus I’m subscribing to help get you up over 10k can’t let Jason get to far ahead😂

    Hi Peter.
Get yourself some "Nail liner brushes" there the finest brushes out there.
    Amazing for fine detail stuff.
There sold to beauty parlours for painting pictures on ladies nails.
There quite cheap if you shop around,
They make life so much easier when it comes to figures and cockpit's.
I buy the short length 6 or 7mm ones ... That's the length of the hairs .
The longer ones are good for painting lines ....where you need brush to carry more paint.
    But 6mm best for detail.
    Great channel 😁👍

Mk.Va was the preffered plane of a true British hero; Douglas Bader:-) He wasn`t fond of the 20 mm canons on the Vb🤠

To clean up your caked paint pallettes, use either some Lacquer thinners - ie Acetone, or use Tamiya Airbrush Cleaner, both on a rag or sponge... A bit of elbow grease and it will come right off. Use gloves tho. Saves your dishwasher from getting clogged up faster. BTW, IF you pre-order the kit online, the 3D printed resin exhausts are included. In regard to "all that drilling" it turns out that about 50-60% of the holes are not easily visible in the completed cockpit (Mostly below "knee level", so using a black/dark wash in each of those 'not easily visible' holes is more than adequate. Rule of thumb: If it can be seen to be 'thru and through' through the closed canopy, then drill out.) External drilling should be mandatory - Most of the closed holes are Molding/Strength limitations.
Last comment - READ all the Sprue ID tabs - a Spitfire Mark Vb is planned! (as is a Ib and IIb.)

Agree, that's what I usually do, but for simple acrylics clean up easy and I dont leave much residue

I happen to like your figures. They look much better than mine. Mine are zombies for the most part. That Spitfire is a fantastic kit from what I hear, enjoy the build.

It's trial and error...my figures get a tiny bit better each time which is all we can hope for. 👍🏻

No idea why exactly I missed the stream, YT did inform me - but I was just not paying attention. A nice kit, reminds me of the other Kotare Spitfire. I will never be that good with figure painting I'm afraid.

The resin exhausts & print are included as part of the ‘pre-order’ version of the kit - which that kit is.

Leads one to wonder how three companies with Spits all over $100 all have simple exhaust issues that would seemingly not be an issue in this era of 2020+.

I do like the Kotare spitfire, I built the really early version. It does seem bit tight not to include the revised exhausts free in the kit. Hopefully it will do well. Your Mosquito crew are looking very very nice 👍
